This place is incredibly over priced for what it is. Atmosphere and beer are great but their food is just awful and insanely expensive!

My wife and I celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary on 12/14/2020. We went to celebrate BIG but Covid had other plans. So I had researched for days looking for a 5 star meal that we could bring home and celebrate then I stumbled across Beardslee on Facebook. I visited their website and checked out their menu. They offered a "PHASED AND CONFUSED" 3-course menu for ONLY 45. My mouth was watering just reading the menu. I was able to order online and select a pick-up time. Yes, it was that easy!?!? My wife and I both ordered the Caesar salad, Red Wine Marinated 8 oz. Sirloin Steak and for dessert she had the skillet cookie with ice cream while I had the Creme Brûlée Trio. Our two kiddos had the chicken strips. The Caesar salad was so good! I'm pretty sure their dressing was made in house. It had a bold anchovy flavor and my wife loved it. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. My wife normally eats steak sauce with her steaks but she hardly used any. They marinate really came through and the steaks were so tender. My only complaint is I couldn't change my side so both of them were served with French fries. I don't eat fries and would have loved some veggies. The kids kept saying the chicken was the best chicken they've had in a while and cleaned their plates! We can't wait until WA opens back up and will definitely eat here again! The eggs Benedict was really great and worth going there for . We ate at the bar and had a great waitress. Our coffee came after our eggs Benedict came then our cinnamon rolls. This is a fun gastropub to grab a bite at. We have been several time, and also have ordered through grab hub. I have always had great service, the veggie burger with gluten free bun is very good. Fries delicious, and very generous portion of fries. But hands down, my favorite is the salmon sandwich! Will probably just keep ordering that. Also, like to start the meal with the pickled veggies! Only negative is that it can get pretty loud in there, so if you are trying to have a more intimate meal, maybe not the best. But would be great for a large crowd, or slightly off hours. read more

Dear god, this place is noisy. They clearly chose to emphasize the noise, if not amplify it. They built this place from dirt, and spent millions upon millions doing it, and they put not one single stitch of acoustic baffling anywhere in the room. They went for almost a converted-industrial-space look in a sense; it's very Spartan, so some baffling panels would not have looked weird, either. Maybe they wanted people to flash back nostalgically to college parties or something? Who knows...but, man, it's loud. You have to lean way over to get close enough to the staff's earholes to place your order. The parking lot makes you feel like you're in an office park a little bit; that other building is probably residential, but the materials make it look like an office. There's a grain silo out front of Beardslee, so you can tell it's a brewery, if you recognize it as a grain silo. Parking is tight, especially on weekend evenings, because this place gets PACKED. It looks almost like a simple shed from the outside, and it doesn't really seem like it will be huge indoors. But it is. You walk in to a large waiting area, with more waiting area over there. (Seriously). There's a huge bar over to the right. Off to the left, there are a bunch of dining rooms and patios and decks, all with seating (when the weather's nice). The staff are bubbly and seem like they're barely old enough to serve alcohol (but that says more about my age than theirs). We posted up in the bar, where the seating was just comfortable enough, all the construction materials were high-grade, and the system of menus, specials, beer lists, and other literature in front of us would have done Leo Tolstoy proud--seriously, so many pages of words. We had the meat candy, which is awesome--pork jerky, sliced very thin, grilled with sweet teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. It's so good, even though on paper it sounds dirt simple. The pretzels were also great, with awesome dipping sauces. The charcuterie plate was just alright; good value, but the chicken liver pate was way too sweet. The pickled chanterelles were fantastic, though. The chicken mole sausage special was great, but it just tasted like any other sausage, not especially chocolatey or peanutty or spicy or anything that would make you think it was mole. Good, though. In the end, these four appetizers, five beers, and a cocktail cost us $84 before tip. The cocktail was made with house vodka and added $12 to the bill, so the tab would have been even lower without that. Damn good gimlet, though. On the ground floor, they're brewing (and another, related business is distilling) all kinds of house stuff. The beers are all very good, sometimes great, and the beer prices are right in line with everybody else's. Given the pedigree of this place, it might seem more expensive than it is. It's not cheap, but it's doing wonderful stuff, and they deliver value for the prices. If you stick with beers, your tab won't be a heck of a lot higher than most other watering holes. read more

"A much needed addition to the Bothell neighborhood." There are some decent dinner and weekend meal spots in Bothell. The Beardslee Public House is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The tall ceilings, loud yet casual atmosphere and huge open space helps create an ideal meeting for a mid-week happy hour or weekend night gatherings. I have visited the Public House twice and found the food to be overall excellent. The hand tossed pizzas are of common fare with other pubs/brewery, however this establishment seems to have chosen amazing combinations for toppings. For anyone looking to overload on cheese, I recommend the Cheese Cheese Cheese. A rich blend of parmigiano, mozzarella, and fontina creates a rich topping that simple sticks to the ribs. The zucchini and chevre is the polar opposite and is lighter. I recommend order the pretzels or grilled kal-bi meat candy for starters. The service, like our meal was on point. Servers were very helpful and accommodating. They consistently checked on our meals and our water glasses were always filled. Drinks are definitely their strong point. Selections range from beers on tap to fine crafted martinis/cocktails. To accompany the libations, the public house also shows games and even has fireplace seating for a cozy and comfortable drinking/sporting/hanging out experience. A fair advise to anyone, this place does have some high decibel moments. Soft conversations will not fair well as the public house is very lively and energetic atmosphere. read more

So happy that I stopped in when visiting home! I was impressed with the food and atmosphere, but most of all the staff was super friendly and helpful. I loved the stuffed mushrooms (and they were a fair price because it was happy hour!) they had a Taco Tuesday special going that was so good I almost ordered a 2nd plate. :) The cocktails were made really well! It's nice to finally have a bar back home that knows how to make a good drink, so kudos to the bartender. My server was a gem of a human... I didn't catch her name, but she was a hoot, and made my visit more entertaining which was nice. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting quality food and drinks from friendly, fun, and professional staff. read more

I'm giving this place two stars. When we came in it was busy but there wasn't a wait so that was nice. My mom and stepdad were taking me out to eat because of a favor I had done them, and I chose the Beardslee Public House because I remembered two years prior I had loved it here (that was also my first time eating here). We were sat in a booth, and a server came around only after about 10-15 minutes when they noticed that we were looking around for someone. He asked us if we had been helped yet, which tells me something happened with the server that was supposed to take our section and we somehow got overlooked initially. We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer, my mom got a burger and my stepdad got a chicken burger. I ordered the sirloin steak with sweet potato fries (I decided to splurge (or so I thought)). The server didn't ask my mom how she wanted her burger cooked, and when she got it she realized why. They patty is thin. He came by immediately when the food was dropped off and asked us if we needed anything -which we didn't. He never asked us how our food was. My stepdad's chicken burger was "ok" to him, but my steak was awful. The steak was tough to chew even though I ordered it medium and didn't have much flavor at all. Instead of regular fries I got sweet potato fries and these were delicious. My mom was insistent that I get my steak remade, but it took nearly 30-40 minutes for us to receive our food and I was so hungry I didn't want to wait. The deviled eggs were sort of an odd dish, and cost $10.50 for six slices. So we paid $10.50 for three eggs (which is crazy). I tried to save the meal by ordering a $9 skillet cookie. This was really yummy with the vanilla ice cream. Overall the server was friendly, but I feel he could've been a little more attentive, especially when it was clear we had been sitting there for a while. It almost felt like our table was being avoided because of the confusion over who was supposed to serve us. The steak was overpriced and barely edible. I left feeling like I had eaten a pile of rocks. If I'm paying $23 for a steak it should come with at least two sides, not just a bunch of fries. Most places offer mashed potatoes and a veggie. My family left disappointed in the lackluster service and food. Maybe I'll come back in two years and see if anything has improved. read more

We stumbled upon this place as we looked for a new place to grab a few beers and a bit to eat. The atmosphere is fresh and relaxing and we found it to be a great place to hang out. We got there and caught a local basketball game while we hung out and ate. The beers were really good and they also had a full bar and wine too. I had the Gaucalote Burger (turkey burger w/ guacamole) and it was top notch! I really enjoyed this place and will be headed back soon. read more

This place has a great atmosphere! I came here twice. Once for a date and just drinks and the second I decided to come back to take a friend for lunch for her birthday. The drinks were normal pricing. But this place was so loud it was hard to hear my date sitting right next to me. Lunch tasted great, but the prices were extremely high for the size/portion. We ordered a double burger to split and the Gouda Mac n cheese. Everything tasted great! However, the burger patties were the size of a McDonald's patty. For $15 I would have expected a much larger burger. read more

Prices are above average for burgers, but frankly, I would pay more after that orgasm between buns... frankly the buns were probably the best I've ever had (that sounded gay, but the if the tiara fits, so be it). We had a little bit of a wait, but the place cleared out around 7:30 on a Friday so it should be easy to get seats after that. They can text you when your table is ready. A lot of families (kid friendly). Good IPA and good prices. Wish they had a couple more IPAs to try! :) Nice parking lots too and a good location. Just wish there were a few more vegan food options on the menu. Everyone who worked here was really nice and helpful. Plenty of seating! They have a large screen, usually for sports games, but when sports aren't on they play good shows like Big Bang Theory. read more

We stumbled into this place soaking wet on a busy and rainy Friday evening. It was packed but bigger than we expected and we didn't wait long to be seated. The ambience could have been somewhat romantic but it was just so big and loud that I couldn't get into the 'date night's space. The food was good and served quickly. Quite an extensive menu. Came here for the first time about 2 weeks ago for a birthday celebration. Got seated promptly when we got in. Water was served and drink orders were taken. We ordered an appetizer right away (the poutine). After getting our drinks we ordered our meal. I can't account for everyone else, they ate their meal. I ate about half, but it wasn't all that great. Myself and another ordered the fried chicken. It states it comes with "country gravy", that is why we ordered it, we love country gravy. However, when the meal came, it was disappointing, it was regular chicken gravy (on the side in a small condiment cup) and no flavor. Neither did the potatoes (plain, no gravy) or the green beans that came with it. The fried chicken was ok, but the potatoes and beans were totally bland. The waitress checked how we were doing and refilled our drinks. She asked if we wanted more gravy. Sure, maybe that'll help everything out, with some additional salt. But maybe they could've added some flavor from the poutine to my meal. The fries were over salted and the cheese curds were hard and cold. The only good thing about this dish was the gravy.....oh, after thought, maybe I should have asked for that gravy for the fried chicken and potatoes. So then comes the bill. We were charged $1 (each) for the small condiment cup of gravy (literally about a big tablespoons worth), which the waitress neglected to mention. It would have been nice to know. We were aware before we got there, and its posted all over that there is an automatic 20% charge and that no additional gratuity is expected. Well, I don't like that they tell us how much we need to pay, especially 20%. We are usually big tippers at 25% or more. We did not leave additional gratuity since they stated it was not expected, and as I don't like being told how much we have to leave. Again it was for a birthday celebration so I didn't say anything. If I had gone for an "ordinary" dinner I probably would have. Will I come back? Maybe, but not by choice. If I do, it won't be for the fried chicken. read more

They are known for their pizza and burgers here. I had to order the charcuterie pizza which came with three types of meat on a pizza crust very similar to what you would find at Serious Pie. My friend ordered the charcuterie meat plate which had three types of meat including prosciutto and salami, a side of pate and pickled onions. Goes great with pizza crust! The charcuterie pizza does not come with pate on it though. Not sure how well it would taste like if it did. Customer service was great and prompt. My friend liked his Manhattan. Waiter was great at checking up on us especially for water and lemon wedges. Next time I will have to have one of their burgers as well as experience their happy hour. Great ambience with its high ceilings and yellow but not too dim lighting. read more

This macaroni and cheese with bacon and crispy onions was so creamy. Delish. I love pickled veggies. Anything in brine I enjoy to snack on. Finally got around to trying this establishment in the past weeks, as one of my weekly COVID take out treats! After going through the reviews, I was excited, as the menu definitely had something to cater my tastebuds. As a huge fan of John Howie steakhouse, and Seastar, I was very excited! I ordered to-go, and the staff were pleasant, and adhering nicely to COVID related practices. My order didn't take long to be available, so I had great expectations to arrive home with some great tasting food. I ordered the homemade pretzel and was disappointed that only 2 of the 3 sauces were in the order (the honey butter was missing it seems). The pretzel itself was a bit hard, so I regretted not trying another appetizer instead. For entrée, I opted for the "happy hour at home" burger which everyone talks about. The burger patties were dry, but the ingredients within the burger were tasty. The russet fries on the other hand did not travel well, and were soggy, and more of an after thought with the burger. The ketchup tasted good! Overall, the experience with staff was great, however the food was a bit of a let down on this occasion. While it's not the most costly of places in the area, I guess there should not be missing items, and food quality issues. read more

Wow this place is massive! We came in for a work celebration for about 20 people and they were so accommodating even though we only called 2 days in advance. We were able to all sit together and our server was really great at keeping everyone's checks separate. Happy hour menu was pretty extensive and had something to satisfy anyone's needs. I tried the lemon drop and the pretzel, both on the HH menu. The lemon drop was pretty weak but the pretzel did make up for it. You get two good-sized pretzels that are crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. I snuck some fries and tried the avocado chicken pizza too. The serving on the fries is quite insane for one person to consume and pizza wasn't too spicy. The winner at the end of the day was definitely the creme brulee trio. We got to try the vanilla, butterscotch, and chocolate flavors. I wish that the sugar top was a little bit more crackly, but the creme brulee was really smooth. The vanilla was my favorite and I loved that I could see flecks of vanilla throughout too. read more

Was here when they first opened and found the food (burger) to be outstanding. No longer live in the area but had the chance to swing back by. Should have kept going. Burger was as good as I remembered, service okay, nothing exceptional. I ordered an espresso martini, as I always do when I see one, to see if it is as good as my recipe. My wife ordered a lemon drop. Was surprised and disappointed when the drinks showed up as both martinis were well below the rim. I drink martinis virtually everywhere I go and these were a definite short pour. The lemon drop was okay but it's tough to screw up a lemon drop. The espresso martini was poor at best, probably did me a favor on the short pour. My major bone of contention is a ridiculous 20% service fee and the expectation of an additional 20% tip. Brought my total for two burgers and two martinis to a ridiculous $120+ total. I for one am tired of restaurants sneaking this crap in. Raise your prices if you want to provide all the benefits your "service" fee "claims" to provide. That way I can look at the menu and leave if I think it's too expensive, which I would have done. $30 for a very small burger is ridiculous. $30 more for a poorly crafter short poured martini is no better. Should have the staff tell me "I love you," when I leave, a more customary salutation after I've been screwed. Needless to say, I won't be back. *3.5 stars* I don't go out to Bothell much but I heard great things about the Beardslee so thought we would check in out. It was fairly busy on a Friday night but we got a table right away which was great. My friend and I shared a tomato soup, the mushroom pizza, and the poutine. The tomato soup was perfectly seasoned and just what we needed on a chilly night. I was also pretty impressed with the mushroom pizza. Sadly, the poutine did not live up to my expectations...though it had all the right elements - fries, actual cheese curds, and gravy - but the gravy was way too salty, and it took away from the overall flavour of the rest of the dish. Tip: order the small portion -- it was already quite a serving. While this would normally be a 3 star, I was sold on the pizza, the cocktail menu is pretty innovative, and there are lots of great beers to try. So that alone deserves a round up. :) read more

So many good dishes here! Their Prime Beef Burger is one of my top 5 burgers anywhere. Yummy crispy fries. Excellent Fish & Chips too. And the Pretzels appetizer is delicious. Their pizza is good, but I like the other dishes better. Prices are a bit higher than other restaurants of this type (ale house/restaurants), but the excellent food is well worth it! read more

Very disappointing. We are big fans of John Howie's Seastar so were willing to drive 40 minutes to Bothell to check out this place. It must only be John Howie in name only as the food quality was subpar. We ordered the beef stroganoff (yuck!), hamburger (tasted burned), and artichokes (no taste). We won't return. read more

This restaurant charges a 20% service charge, which the restaurant keeps, and then expects you to tip on top of that. A lot of restaurants are now adding a service charge so they can pay their employees better, pay for health insurance and other costs of doing business, but 20% is outrageous!! read more

I love this place. The wait staff has always been friendly and SO knowledgeable when we go. They are enthusiastic and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working at beardslee as opposed to other restaurant staff at other restaurants. Those complaining about the 20% service charge (that they are up front about on their menu) should acknowledge that this takes away the expectation of a tip, and ensures that their staff here will be paid a livable wage and receive healthcare benefits. We recently tried Beardslee curbside and was happily surprised by how good it was. I always order a custom burger (dry gluten bun, no pickles) and many places don't seem to get that right. However, our order was perfectly correct and delicious! On time and food seemed well-prepared (not sitting on the counter for 10 mins). Our burgers were delicious and fries were tasty. Love the house made ketchup and ranch sauce. We plan to visit and very soon! read more

Let's start this off with a "WOW"!!! Started with the Beardslee sampler and everything it offered was great. They don't over do it the keep it simple and tasty no need to do or add anything extra. Entree I went with the halibut 2 piece with chips. The house tartar sauce with a piece of the crispy and not over fried halibut is a home run for me!! I might add I eased it down with a house beer of their own, you can't do any better!! I am not recommending this place instead, I am telling you it's a must go!!!! Tonight my boyfriend and I went to eat at Beardslee after a long day, we walked in and the host was welcoming and we sat openly in n the bar. I believe our servers name was Maddie, she got right to us and gave us the best service she was very patient and attentive we barely had to wait for anything. She paid attention to everything we were saying and was nice and brief and ended our experience with the check without even asking knowing exactly when we wanted because she listened to us. When we go back we will be asking for her. Food was amazing also we got the buffalo cauliflower and the muenster burger. Both amazing! Great experience. read more

Beardslee is hands down one of my favorite spots to dine out. Everything we've tried on the menu is absolutely DELICIOUS. The cocktail menu is unique and expansive. Prices are good for the quality of ingredients and portions you get . The entire Beardslee staff is always friendly and knowledgeable every time we come in. I've been to this location twice. First time was real bad and the second time was bad. If you order a hamburger after happy hour menu it is super thin. It's not the same hamburger as the regular menu. Also it comes with french fries that they stuffed the basket with all the tidbits of potatoes. Super gross and not tasty at all read more
