Grizzly Pizza with ranch on the side!

Called ahead to order as we were traveling thru... 15 min and it was ready! Friendly staff, yummy pizza, and it looks like an interesting museum inside the restaurant.

This is a BLT. Crust with bacon. No sauce, no lettuce, no tomatoes! And burnt to boot! $15 for a small.

$65 for a large pizza that taste terrible, burnt small crust with bacon on it(supposed to be a BLT). Antipasto salad that is not antipasto. Absolutely horrible experience. Ruined my husbands birthday dinner!

This small town pizzeria makes a nice pie. Before entering, look up. A pair of Italian pizza chefs with camouflage aprons hoisting large pizzas over the Bear's Den sign are a good indicator of what awaits. The Bear's Den is part fluorescent striplight diner, and part homage to Fred Bear, Sportsman/hunter/man's man of yesteryear. My father-in-law remembers when his archery factory turned out high quality bows right down the street in Grayling. Now his handiwork adorns the walls of this kitschy little pizzeria. I would not call this thin crust. (For a pizza to be true thin crust, it would be necessary to fold it over onto itself in order to give the necessary structure to eat the pointy half, and this pizza is unfoldable.) But it IS very good. They don't skimp on the cheese, and the crust is, well, CRUSTY. Dollar fifty draft beers, but take it easy--Traverse City is still an hour away. Probably a three-star place on my scale, but I'm giving it four because Jennifer H. sounds like a pain.

I have been to every incarnation of pizza parlor this place has been over the years...and it's always had good food and decent service. The Bear's Den incarnation was no different... The pros? They were non-plussed when our small group of seven turned into an unexpected group of about 17 (we took up half the restaurant). The one waitress who had our table (well, table x 4 actually) did a good job with all the separate orders--and separate checks. The cons? You only get one pop refill for your $1.99 and they don't mention that to you (you just have to read it on the menu). Some of the sub ("hup") prices seem a bit high. The breadsticks didn't come with any sauce--unless you wanted to pay extra. I ordered the garlic and butter breadsticks and they were pretty good. The BLT pizza intrigued me as it had white sauce on it. It was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. Hubby had a pizza sub (hup) and said it was good, but I'm not sure it was $8 good as it only came with chips. The waitress was pretty good with beverage refills and clearing off the table. The decor is great for hunters (think bows and arrows and camouflage) but honestly I just kinda ignored it all. If the food is good, who cares what's on the walls?

Great place for pizza. We asked our waitress if we could get thin crust and she said no problem. Service and food are very good.

Excellent brewery/restaurant in Grayling…read more I've eaten here twice in a seven year span and the beer, food, and service are still great. Latest visit was last week and we were going to arrive right around kitchen closing (9:30pm). Called in an order and they held it for us/let us eat inside and grab beers. Appreciated that greatly after a long drive. A handful of plant based options like tacos, bowls, and pita sandwiches. I ordered tacos and the pita and both were yummy. Beers are solid and they have other breweries too. Plus cider. The seating options are plentiful (long bar, small and large tables). They can accommodate large groups. The decor is cool inside too. Will absolutely keep coming here when I find myself up north.

Nate ordered a beer and I got the peach raspberry mule, which was delicious - fruity and sweet, but with a bit of a kick from the ginger beer. We decided to split the feta and spinach pizza, but everything on the menu sounded delicious. They also have tacos, paninis, starters, salads, mac and cheese, and a kids menu. The bartenders helping us were super friendly and polite. Our pizza came out super quickly and it was so good. It had a ton of feta, and the veggies were fresh. I loved this pizza and would definitely come back for more in the future. I didn't love the ranch (I think it was just Hidden Valley), but it's still an easy 5 stars for me!

If…read morelike me, you've found yourself jumping from brunch spot to brunch spot during the busy season in Grayling, desperately looking for somewhere to eat deep-fried food and perhaps enjoy a cocktail, while finding yourself with 1-2 hour waits, and questioning the meaning of life... look no further. Sure it's not fancy, and it's definitely not trendy, but the food is solid, the atmosphere and service are authentic, and everything is just good enough to make you happy you skipped the lines. You'll be home in a carb coma, long before you'd even be served downtown at the local brew pub.

I had the basket of chicken tenders with seasoned fries and she had a corned beef sammich with Cole slaw, and we each had a lemonade. The annual Au Sable Canoe Marathon is this weekend (which I was not aware of) and though the place was busy they seated us right away. Our server Katie was a regular customer and joined the staff not long after discovering the place, and we could tell that she enjoys her job. She's good at it, too. When in Grayling, come to the Gray Rock and have an appetizer or a meal, or maybe just a beer or two. Live music and a panoply of comedic talent takes the stage regularly. You won't be sorry you came!

Prices were reasonable. 5-stars in these areas. My husband and I are trying to eat low-carb so we chose the Molcajetes Mexicana bowl. Definitely enough for two. Peppers and onions are suited with a flavorful sauce and covered with a flat, thin square of steak and chicken, a skewer of shrimp, chorizo and a chunk of cheese. A side of beans and rice plus tortillas are included. Interesting combination of flavors and textures. It was piping hot and looked wonderful. The meat tended to be somewhat dry and flavorless on its own but was more flavorful when swirled with the other spices and vegetables. The chink of cheese just seemed weird. We rated this main a 4-star. We would definitely return to try some other entrees. Overall an enjoyable dining experience.
