It's February 15th and we had an appointment for our lab who had some lumps under her coat. As I walked up, I noticed two old rotting pumpkins from Halloween still on the front porch. That lack of attention to detail should have clued me in that they had issues. The place was dirty and the "manager" was a legend in her own mind; not to mention unprofessional and rude. She was saying her rehearsed spiel, and my wife attempted to interject something. The manager rudely snorted, "Let me finish!!" I guess she didn't want any facts to interfere with her utterly ridiculous rant. At that point, I looked at my wife and said, "Let's go." I will never bring any animal to these incompetent pretenders again. The only area they demonstrate any proficiency is upselling services and charging you after the visit. They seem to have that part figured out. That is apparently their primary area of focus, while the professional medical care for their animal patients is secondary... if it exists at all. read more

I can't say enough good things about this office! Their staff is amazing and so is Dr. Romano! Today they saved our duckling Weezy who had a broken leg. I have always taken great care of my pets my last dog lived 20 years I just took my 18 pound poodle mix dog that had been attacked by a pitbull to the veterinarian that I had used on three other pets, a German Shepherd, and two cats she refused to attend to my dog in this emergency situation I have the money and I am also in need of Help in moving because of my situation I cannot carry and walk upstairs and I have medication that makes it difficult for me to do anything past three in the afternoon cancer makes me uncontrollably tired. And without help and being alone she referred me to a hospital and it was closed. The other hospital was closed. That's why I waited to take my dog to his vet which I thought she was . No compassion or help. I am at a loss at what to do and my poor friend is in pain. read more

I visited plenty and found that Beaufort Veterinary is our home for my pup's veterinary care. Dr. Romano is AH-MAZING! She presents with compassion and care, as well as tons of knowledge. She made me and my girl feel at ease on our first visit, so now when we go, our gal doesn't feel anxious or uncomfortable. The setting is adorable, with a fenced in area out front where we let our pup run around a bit before and after her appointments. The hours are different than other vet offices, opening later in the day and staying open later into the evening to accommodate working pet parents. As vacationers at Emerald Isle, we were relieved to find the helpful and caring staff at BVH when our puppy became ill. Even at 9:00 at night, the staff was eager to help and explained all options we had available to us. They showed us his x-rays and explained each step they took to get him back to his full self. We just went here for our first time ever with our 6 month old golden retriever puppy. Our sweet girl went here to get spayed. I can not say enough good things about this place! My 8 year old daughter was so upset dropping our puppy off. The sweet staff told her to call as many times as she wanted to check on her. Well...my daughter took them up on that and called later on the evening after we dropped her off and again the next morning before school. They were so sweet to my daughter telling her what Tessa was doing. The doctor also calls to let us know how our puppy did during the surgery and what to expect afterwards. This animal hospital is 35 mins from our home, but we will definitely be returning! Awesome staff and clean facility! read more

To say that my family recommends Dr. Romano and staff is an understatement. Look NO FURTHER than BVH. The staff and the vet are simply amazing and they are interested in your animal's care completely. They are professional, kind, compassionate, and they make you feel like family. The care my puppy is receiving is nothing short of a miracle. The hours they operate my seem odd BUT most of the time these are the hours you need your animals seen because of timing and it's convenience! Her prices are amazing, believe me I travel to see her from New Bern and consistently she beats everyone up here PLUS she is wicked SMART (is not only a DVM but also has her PhD from Duke!) and her staff is precise and consistent and fun! The facility is CLEAN and is beautiful. Please if you are looking for a vet and staff to love and treat your baby with the best care LOOK NO FURTHER than BVH. They are amazing!!! They can hospitalize overnight, do operations, dentals, you name it. She can do it all and if she can't she is humble and honest and will work with you on a referral. Do not hesitate or think twice.
