My 6 year old got to ride on Foxy and was led on his horse since he is so young. I rode on Marley, and my sister had Diamond. We went through forest type setting where there were so many beautiful butterflies. Also there are parts that take you over other types of terrain. Certainly not boring at all. And Chris was so willing to answer any questions that we had. And super reassuring to my kids about how they were handling the horses and whatnot. My kids are saying they wish we could go there everyday if that tells you anything. We hope to try and make this a yearly "thing" because it really was about the best part of our little get away.

When we arrived we signed the consent forms in the office and were walked to the area where we got on the horses. We got a quick safety lesson and then we used their mounting steps to get on the horses. I really appreciated this because I'm very short and I was nervous about being able to get on and off safely. The trail ride was the perfect length. We went at 130pm on a 90 degree day and were comfortable because of all the shade throughout the ride. There are some large fields with no trees though so if it's super hot there will be times when the sun is too much. Our trail guide Isaiah was phenomenal and always warned us when there were low trees or areas to avoid. All in all, highly recommend. At $60/person it was also super affordable.

Abbie and Hidden Branch have been very accommodating and provided many opportunities to ride and learn ! Abbie is very flexible on timing, and helps me find a group lesson every week, which is a little cheaper, as I'm a college student. She is a very positive trainer who is able to communicate effectively how to improve your riding. She pushes you to improve, but also is very understanding of the Texas heat and that with only riding once a week I'm not in as good of shape as I would like to be, so we get plenty of walk breaks and chats. The horses are all in great shape, and because of the low cost and vet on site I've been very tempted to try and get a horse myself, especially after seeing how both Abbie and Julie take such great care of all the horses. The horses are all happy and I've seen them galloping and playing in the fields on numerous occasions. Abbie's horses I've ridden are all such good characters and practically bomb proof. I would recommend Hidden Branch to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere to board or to lesson, while still trying to improve their ability.

Our cabin was really nice and clean.The pool was relaxing and very short walk from our cabin. The Hideaway has plenty of activities (fishing,horseback riding,hiking and stargaze)that you can plan for if you have the time which I highly recommend. The nights at Hideaway Ranch are very quiet and the stars on clear nights were breath taking. Morning breakfast at Hideaway Ranch The Buffalo Nickel was very good. The staff were also very polite and they had some time to talk to us about some of the history of the ranch. We were very happy with the hospitality that was shown to us by all the staff. Pros were it is in the middle of no where, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Had the thugs above been fixed we would be back. For $360 for two nights, strictly my opinion.. we won't be back.
