I went to a dentist who gave me antibiotics and told me I could either have the tooth extracted or see if the pain subsides and if it does do nothing for now. The pain went away and did not come back for three years until two weeks ago, the same pain. I went to my dentist and she said that maybe the tooth was cracked or the dentist who did the root canal didn't remove all of the canals. She recommended I have the tooth extracted and get an implant, this came up to about $5,000. I told a co-worker about my situation and she recommended that I get a second opinion and referred me to her dentist Gary L. Johnson. I was able to get an early morning appointment the next day! The entire staff was extremely friendly. Dr. Johnson examined my tooth and offered two options, one get a 360 degree x-ray of my tooth to have the best view of its condition and if the Endodontist recommends it, have the tooth retreated or go ahead and have the tooth extracted, get an implant, and be done with it. Dr. Johnson referred me to Drs. Navid Akbar and Elias Haddad. After the 360 degree x-ray it was determined that the retreatment had an 80% chance of success and if I did the retreatment the dentist could get a better view of the condition of the tooth, i.e is it cracked. The dentist let me know that even after the retreatment there was a chance the tooth could become re-infected and at that time the only option would be to have the tooth extracted and replaced with an implant. I decided to do the most conservative and least expensive option first (360 degree e-ray, root canal retreatment, and crown came to about $1,100). The doctor said the procedure went great! Hopefully this will be the end of it. However, if a few years from now the tooth becomes re-infected and I have to have it removed I am still glad that I had a more conservative option I could take first. I don't want to lose any of my teeth even if I can get an implant. I am so thankful to Dr. Johnson because he gave me options to try that left the most radical thing as a last resort. He is also very friendly. The two weeks prior to seeing Dr. Johnson were very scary because I was in pain, I was in the process of moving, I had a lot of work to do, and I didn't want to have my tooth extracted, but I didn't think there was any other option. The dentist, his wife and his entire staff conspired to cover up the records of his gross mistake.

I found this office by googling emergency dentists, and now that my dental needs have been begun to be addressed, I am very glad that I found them. After searching through a number of dentist, I found that finding a dentist that could see me during hours that would allow me to not be able to miss work was almost impossible; however, I called this office at 4pm, and got an appointment at 6pm on the same day. I had major dental issues that needed to be addressed, but I have a very demanding job, and the fact that their regurlar office hours are 3-8, it worked perfectly with my schedule. As for the service that I received, they were excellent. After visiting their office, I was able to sleep after haivng several sleepless nights due to the pain. Dr. Gordon prescribed me antibiotics, and gave me instructions on how to take them, and this actually relieved me of the pain that I had been experiencing. Within days, I was back in the office to have the procedures performed that addressed the dental issues that I had been having. After having the procedures done, I recceived a follow-up call to check on me, making sure that I wasn't experiencing pain or major discomfort, as well as to verify that I was taking my medication as prescribed. When I saw their number, I assumed that they were calling because of some some type of issue with my insurance or something, so to say that I was surprised by this kind gesture is a true understatement. As a result of the services that I recieved at Pain Away Dentisty, I making this dentist office my primary dentist for all of my future dentist needs.
