I found Tracey through a Groupon and was pretty wary because I had a couple less-than-stellar experiences with other estheticians. After researching and reading great reviews online, I decided to take a chance to visit her. As an actor and print model, my skin is an important asset and as I've gotten older, I've discovered that my oily and acne-prone skin had been taking its toll. In the past several months, Tracey has completely transformed my skin through her sorcery. I'm incredulous how after all the years of damage that has been done to my face has been reversed in a matter of weeks. I am a 40 year old male with a Pacific Islander background and people mistaken me for early-to-mid 20s every day. Tracey is so well-knowledged in her craft and will customize a course of action and a routine to suit each person individually. I have had microdermabrasion, chemical peels and, my favorite, Laser Pixel all at ridiculously affordable prices. Tracey truly loves what she does and is a truly wonderful person. She is a necessity to anyone's glam squad and I highly recommend her above any other in the area!

Dr Kovak is very compassionate and reasonable with the prices. I paid far more at a random laser center when I received a treatment for over 150 that did nothing where as Dr. Kovak zapped the tiny area for basically nothing after doing my under eye area which was very reasonable. I had done fillers from another doc long before I knew Dr Kovak and it wasn't a good experience for me, Dr Kovak is someone I've come to trust. That previous doctor was giving me vitrase in order to dissolve the product that migrated to above and below my lips and used a bit of steriod in the mix for the nodules I developed and it cause a dent/indentation or atrophy in my upper lip that looked pretty bad. So I went back to Dr Kovak to help fix the issue. I did my own research into successful treatments for atrophy and came across many studies on saline injections that reverse the atrophy over time by diluting the steriod crystals that prevent the fat tissue from regenerating. Dr. Kovak was concerned that I had steriod put in my face and he said you may need filler to fill the area because it may be permanent but he would be willing to try the saline injections first that I asked about... he suggested 3 times once a month. The studies I read they used a protocol of 1 time a week 4 to 6 times and when I mentioned that to Dr the next time I saw him and He said okay! Let's do it! He clearly cares about and listens to his patients and he doesn't have that large ego you're used to seeing with very successful Drs like him. I love this man, we need more Drs like him in the world. So far, I've had 3 saline injections and the indentation is getting less and less. The dr noticed it changing too. I am blessed to have found him. I saw a review that compared oak brook terrace to villa Park and she sounds sad. Hopefully she gets help with that delusion and finds a dr that's more her vibration and I don't envy that person. Thank you Dr Kovak, I'll only come to you when I try for fillers again. So blessed to have found you.

Dr. Kovak agreed to send in Rx to Walgreens. Upon leaving appointment, Sandy Kovak told me there was a $100 Fee for Writing a Prescription. Then she told me it was a Consultation Fee which contradicted what I was told when making the appointment (Office Visit). This was never disclosed nor stated when I inquired about the costs when making the appointment nor during the exam. It is unusual and improper for a doctor's office to charge a separate $100 prescription fee on top of an office visit charge, especially if it was not disclosed upfront. A prescription is generally considered part of the treatment included in the cost of the office visit. I have asked for this charge to be reversed and to have Dr. Kovak return my call.

As stated in my previous review, I began seeing a doctor at Center for Derm for mole checks…read morefollowing an earlier diagnosis of malignant melanoma. I felt the doctor was thorough and took my concerns seriously; he would remove any questionable mole (his concern or mine) and always documented moles with digital photos and measurements. All seemed fine and dandy, but the honeymoon period only lasted a year and a half. The Cliff Notes version of my review is this: Doc gets huffy with my insurance company, and instead of sending them the latest 3 pieces of paper from my chart, tries to stick me with a $2,100 bill that would otherwise be paid in full by my insurance company. THEN, I'm stuck with a $57 tab and the inconvenience of having to remedy HIS problem on my own. My last mole check appointment was in June, and all was well until I got a bill in August for $2,100. I figured that the claim was filed late, or my insurance company hadn't processed it yet, so I didn't panic. Shortly thereafter I received a CC copy of a letter my insurance company sent to the doctor/Center for Dermatology requesting my medical records so that they could evaluate the claim and remit payment. Apparently this was their second request. Between conversations with my insurance company and the Center for Derm. staff, I was informed that the doctor has been in litigation with my (major) insurance company, and therefore has refused to comply with any requests from them, including sending records so that claims could be finalized. Well, I have perfectly good insurance, and I DON'T have $2,100 laying around to appease a business and doctor who has decided to be stubborn (or prove a point, or whatever) with my insurance company. Meanwhile, I began getting letters from Center for Dermatology threatening to send my bill to collections. I got on the phone with my insurance company and asked what I needed to do about the situation. They advised me NOT to remit payment (that imaginary $2,100 I have laying around), and to get ahold of my medical records myself. Because regardless of whatever issues said doctor was having, they're going to process my claim. I must say that even through this situation, the STAFF at Center for Dermatology was professional and pleasant with me, even when there were some miscommunications. My issue with this whole thing - aside from the time taken out of several days to do a job that Center for Derm. should have done for me (send the requested records) - is that I had to PAY for my OWN records in order to save myself the $2,100 that would have been paid out anyway. This would have been avoided had Center for Dermatology TOLD ME at my June appointment that the doctor is refusing to work with my insurance company... he is in my network, and it's not like I'm a new patient; my information is on file and was verified of its accuracy when I came in for my appointment. Had that been the case, I simply would not have had any procedure done. (*Note: On 2/3/11, my insurance company informed me that Center for Dermatology was no longer part of my insurance network on May 16th, 2010.) A word to the wise: if you visit Center for Dermatology, ask if the doctor is in litigation with your insurance company... OR if you have Blue Cross/Blue Shield, just save yourself the time and energy altogether and find a more professional dermatologist.

BIG IMPORTANT UPDATE: Even though their website lists that they accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield…read moreinsurance and even though I called to confirm they accepted Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance AND even though I ASKED IN PERSON ON THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT if they accepted Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance....they DON'T TAKE Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance. And guess who gets stuck with the bill? Not the doctors office full of liars- me! I was really not impressed with my experience at Center for Dermatology & Skin Cancer Ltd. I only had one experience, but I don't really think I will be returning for a second. Long story short, I have been having random medical issues (ie: blowing up in unexplainable hives) that no one can seem to pinpoint. After seeing an allergist and a rhuematologist, I was sent to a dermatologist. I went here because it's near my house. My first impressions upon entering was that it was more of a cosmetic dermatology office rather than a medical dermatology office. Oh well, I figured, I'm here, I'll give it a shot. So I waited. And I waited. And waited. And my 4 O'Clock appt. turned in to a 5 O'Clock appt. I go in to the office with a personality-less nurse (she honestly could not have been a nurse...she must have been a CNA or something) and I asked her not to use latex gloves because, as part of the massive testing that is occurring on my body, there is reason to suspect I have a latex allergy. She told me she just "wouldn't touch me and I'd be fine." Really? REALLY!!!!!!??? What if I had been allergic to latex? I mean, now, the blood tests are in and it's clear that I'm not....but what the HELL would she have done IF I WAS? Anyway, the dermatologist came in, didn't even look at my hands/feet (where the immediate issue was occurring) and said I had eczema. Oh really? I would love to know what you used to make that medical diagnosis. He gave me a pamphlet and prescription and left. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I saw him for less than 2 minutes. Honestly, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth, but I didn't think much of it until I followed up a few days later with the allergist. She started asking me all these questions about my supposed eczema diagnosis that I was unable to answer. She pointed out all the things that should have been explained to me. She asked what type of eczema it was (I don't know). She asked why he didn't do a skin biopsy on my "atypical" hives (I don't know). She explained that there is a significant difference between allergy hives, eczema hives, and what I have (Oh.). All I had to show her was a freaking pamphlet. Proving the allergists point, the eczema medication he prescribed me is NOT working and I'm having an allergic reaction to it (allergies = not his fault; blame it on my genetics), but I'm just really hesitant to go back. I think I'm just going to make an appointment somewhere else.

The nurse claimed there was a note on my profile stating I requested the fan be turned off--which is completely inaccurate. I never made that request. I also purchased an expensive package under the impression of full hair removal, but I have not seen the results promised. When I raised concerns, I was told I would likely need to purchase additional sessions and that the treatment only removes about 80% of hair--something that was never clearly explained upfront. I requested documentation of what I signed and asked to speak with a manager. After multiple requests over several weeks, I received no response. When I finally spoke with the district manager, Jocelyn, she repeatedly spoke over me. When I mentioned recording the call (as your system states calls may be recorded), she claimed she had never heard of calls being recorded in her 5 years with the company and hung up on me. Shortly after, I received a call from someone on the "care team" who confirmed that calls are in fact recorded, directly contradicting her. When I pointed this out, he avoided addressing it. I was also told the employee who sold me the package is no longer with the company, so they cannot verify what was promised--which is unacceptable. At this point, I requested a refund. Instead, I was told I would be charged $400 per session for the 4 sessions used, meaning I would lose $1,600 from a $2,000 package. This pricing breakdown makes no sense and feels misleading. They were very responsive when making the sale, but completely unresponsive when addressing serious issues. After months of poor communication and unprofessional service, I have no interest in store credit. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

I complimented her on the fullness and brightness of her lips, and that's when she stated to me that she had a lips tattooed.... Immediately after, I knew I would have to get mine tattoo/tinted because how good it looked. I was very hesitant on where to go because this is permanent, and its on my face.. FINALLY after looking for the right person, I found Robyn at Ink & Arch, and I am SO glad I did. Robyns work is so beyond what this review can describe. From the moment I walked into her studio I felt like I made the right decision. She took her time penciling out my lip line before she got started tattooing. The lining was clean and accurate, she checked in with me the whole time to make sure how I felt about it. She did great penciling out my lips so I trusted her to proceed. We looked at colors, which she has very many of and I chose a pinkish/light red color (mixed two colors together) After the tattoo processing began, I was nervous naturally and of course it hurt just a bit but this is all expected. Robyn checked on me throughout the whole appointment to make sure I was ok! Upon completion, Robyn pulled up a mirror to my lips, I was in complete shock-- I absolutely LOVED my lips, the lining was FLAWLESS. I honestly couldn't believe how great my lips looked. The best feeling is waking up in the morning and looking lively because of my lips. I have received tons of compliments on my lips, sometimes I want to play it off like its my natural lip but I cannot because that means I wouldn't be able to rave about Robyn work. If you have the slightest inclining that you want to do it, just book, she will not disappoint! Ps- PRIOR to my appointment with Robyn, I was planning on getting fillers after my lips healed from the tattoo. I no longer needed to do that because the color added so much fullness and boldness to my lips so I decided to skip out on the fillers. I am so happy with my decision!
