If I could leave negative reviews I would ... Came in asking for blue peekaboo highlights and showed the first photo as an example. The process took over 4 hours despite getting a tiny section of my hair dyed and came out literally GREEN and PURPLE - nowhere close to blue AT ALL. They said the color wasn't guaranteed because of how dark my hair was to begin with but they had lightened it to blonde so clearly it was an error with the dyes they used. Ended up going to an Ulta Salon where it came out perfectly. Would not recommend going here to anyone. Also did not seem like they cared much about Covid as the salon was packed. read more

My salon experience at Beautique was awesome! I've been doing ombré-balayages (red, pink, & purple) for about 6 years now but lately I've started to do research on chemicals, dyes, product lines etc. I've read up about Goldwell/KMS after I hair modeled for the Goldwell KMS Academy in the meatpacking district. Then began my thorough search for a Goldwell salon via Facebook. Looked at so many stylists, salons, and hashtags. On Instagram the hashtag #hairbymeredithcurry was appealing to me, ended up looking at her work. The salon she's at is "Goldwell Titanium" searched that up, made a short list of the first 4 NY salons, none of course are in NYC . Beautique Salon stood out to me because there used to be a restaurant near the Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue called Beautique which I absolutely LOVED, celebrated my birthday, attended nyfw events, etc. Sooo back to the review, I looked at Beautique's facebook/instagram and everyone seemed supportive of each other! Yep I looked at EVERY social media( market research lol) I finally came across Nikki and saw how insaaaaaanely talented she is, especially with blondes. Messaged her on Facebook, she responded, which surprised me since usually, people take forever to get back. I made an appointment and booked within 1 week! I traveled 30 miles into Long Island to see her, yet she's soooo freaking worth it!!!!!!! My appointment was for 11am, but the LIRR train was delayed by 30 mins and I was 28 mins late to my appointment. Nikki did not want to rush me at all so I waited til 1pm to start. Everything was done by 6pm. I've had my hair taken care of by Gaby for a cut & style (it was both a wet & dry cut) Jesse for my washes, in betweens, and Nikki for color. Nikki came in to help Gaby finish styling. My cost was $460, which includes babylights/ balayage, colormelt for the roots, glaze, toner, serum, haircut, styling, I've purchased the Goldwell shampoo/conditioner, serum for maintenance. I'm super happy and can't wait to go back soon for my touch up! Went today for the first time. Meredith did my blowout. When I walked in I recognized her and her sister Carrin from a Salon they used to work in and I used to use. Everyone there was so friendly. From the minute I walked in, they both welcomed me immediately! The receptionist was so friendly and outgoing. They gave me sanitizer , took my temperature and sanitized the chair before I sat down. Meredith gave me an awesome blowout. I love it! I never was her client in the other salon, but glad I had the opportunity to have her do my hair today. I will definitely be back! I love Beautique- I've been coming here for a year and a half now, which is longer than I've gone to any salon in the past. I found the salon through Instagram b/c I was looking for a place nearby that does exceptional hair painting and bayalage. Welp, I found it. I religiously go to Lexi, who is a color genius. She listens to what I want and never makes me feel silly for changing it up every few months. Recently we really found a color style that looks great and I love it- she's so easy to work with and will definitely make you feel fantastic. The salon itself is cozy but all fresh and new looking inside. Don't be fooled by the parking lot/shopping center that it's in- it's unfortunate that there are only a few other businesses open in that lot, but this is truly a gem! Other than being a great salon with really talented stylists, another thing that I really like about this place is that I have never been pressured to buy any expensive products, which is nice not to have that pressure at the end of your visit. ++ You get a free blow out during your birthday month! Hidden Gem, it's a rather new Salon that I decided to try out last year after checking out their instagram. Since I have naturally black, straight hair, it's hard to get the color I want or even the haircut I want. I've probably been to 5 other salons so many different times always trying to color or have a certain haircut I see in photos but it never works out. Either my hair doesn't match the color I wanted or the haircut doesn't fall the way I imagined it. When I came to Beautique, they actually explained that it takes more than one process to lighten dark hair and that I need to use purple shampoo to keep the brassiness out of my lightened hair. Literally opened up a whole new world for me & how to take care of my hair :) That's when I met Lauren and she was amazing. She listened to what I wanted and even added her own opinions and we were finally able to figure out what would look best on me. I ended up cutting my long hair to a lob, and got a balayage to fix my brassy ugly looking ombré. It literally turned out perfect and I've been a lob lover ever since! I go to Lauren every time I need a touch up, haircut, change of color, anything. My hair turns out gorgeous every single time. First time going to this salon and I'm so disappointed! After weeks of trying to book an appointment finally I secured a spot. I told the stylist it wasn't necessary to wash my hair since I already washed it at home. All I wanted was a bouncy blow out and she then asked to see pictures so I showed her some and still didn't get what I asked for. A bouncy blow out is typically just done with large brushes and she then blows out my hair straight and takes out the curling iron. Once It came to pay, it came to 60 dollars for a blow out and I was charged for the curling iron. I said since I didn't get a wash did I need to be charged for the curling Iron and with an attitude I was told yes. If you just want a blow out don't go here! read more

Absolutely incredible salon! Everyone is so friendly and kind. Stephanie does my hair EXACTLY how I want it every time! She does great work and my hair always is how I would like it to be. I am able to show her one or two pictures of what I would like and she nails it every time! The prices are reasonable for great work. You get what you pay for, and having great hair is worth it. The color also lasts for a decent amount of time. The salon is clean and every staff member is helpful and kind. While you are waiting for your hair to finish processing, you are offered anything to drink. The staff is considerate, friendly, clean and does great work. She listened to all my questions and concerns.she gave me advice on what I should do and how will she do my hair. I got balayage,glaze, conditioning treatment and hair cut done. My hair feels better than before , so soft and healthy. The salon I went before messed up my hair so bad that I was so scared to do anything. But Nikki helped me with my hair. I have a horror experience with balayage from years past and was hesitant to get it done again, but I needed something new, so I booked an appt with Stephanie. So you know how when you go to a new hair salon you feel out of place sometimes? Not this place. I got there and Stephanie made me feel right at home, sitting me down first to talk about what I wanted so we were on the same page. Everyone was sweet but I feel like this isn't the place to go for a balayage if you're not Caucasian. I told the stylist that my hair gets very orange and warm after a bleach and they said that they would consider it and I showed them a picture of the look I was going for but ended up with orange highlights that didn't even resemble a balayage. I ended up looking like a tiger. Everyone in the salon was complimenting on my hair and the stylist and I felt awkward to disagree with them because I was kind of on the spot. She took the time to talk through with me what I wanted and examine the numerous pictures I brought in.
