Meg did my updo, along with about half of the bridal party and it turned out better than I could have imagined! I told her to do whatever she thought would look good, but just to make sure it wasn't slick against my head making me look bald. She gave my hair texture and a great bun that lasted all night! She was easy to talk to and made the whole experience enjoyable. She did about half of the rest of the bridal party and their hair looked great too. Lauren is the owner and took the other half of the party and everyone looked great. If you're planning a wedding I would definitely consider getting the parties hair done here. It was great. We had the place to ourselves and they allowed us to bring in some breakfast foods to enjoy while everyone got their hair done. They also had a makeup artist come in who did some of the girls make up, and they allowed others to bring their own and do it themselves. I can't speak personally to the typical hair cuts and other services, however the bride goes here regularly as did one of the bridesmaids mothers an both had nothing but good things to say. I had heard about Salon Love at a recent charity fundraiser that I went to, and seeing it's in my neighborhood, I thought, why not? The owner is super fast with her responses and was able to fit me in at the time I requested. It's a cute and clean salon, right next to 5 points coffee. There's plenty of free street parking available too. I went in and got a fast, good haircut. I asked for a long inverted bob, and that's what I got. And it was good. It's hard to find people who can cut asian coarse (and in my case, thick) hair, as people often have no idea how to handle it. But they do at Salon Love! I also liked how it was straight to the point- there's no pushy-ness to buy their hair products-you get your hair cut and you're out. Additionally, it's quite cheap for a haircut.. much less than what I was paying in Ohio City and Edgewater. If you're in need for a quick good haircut that is affordable, stop into Salon Love!

My cousin wanted to get her hair done for Prom, and found this place on her own through internet searches. She made a reservation based on good reviews she read. We got there a bit early and they got her in right away. She showed her stylist a photo of the kind of hairstyle she wanted, which was braids in the front connecting to a bun in the back (I'm doing a poor job of describing it, but it's a fairly simple style). The stylist started doing something, then undid it because it didn't look right, then tried something else again, and was clearly struggling a bit with my cousin's Asian hair (very straight and sleek). I don't blame her for this, since our hair texture can be tricky to work with if you don't have a lot of experience with it. After about half an hour of this she asked a senior stylist for help, which I thought was very appropriate. But then the senior stylist said to my cousin, "You need to make up your mind about what you want to do, because we can't be trying a million different styles. We're wasting a lot of time." I had been watching the whole time from the waiting area, and her attitude and tone of voice with my cousin made me really angry because she was trying to blame the problem on my 17yo cousin. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to make the situation worse by making them mad, thereby risking them messing up my cousin's hair. The senior stylist did end up making it work out and the final hairstyle looked good (hence the 4 stars), but her attitude the whole time trying to make my cousin feel like she had done something wrong left a bitter taste in both our mouths.
