My husband gave me a gift certificate for a 45-minute massage for Christmas. It's been a rather hectic spring so I finally got around to making an appointment with Jo. Beauty Balance by Jo It's located in Phoenix Suites on 17th Street. The location is very convenience since it is not far from the "Orange Crush" so all of the major highways are close. I had a membership at Burke Williams for well over a year and always enjoyed their massages. But the cost kept going up and I just didn't feel I wanted to continue to commit to that much money every month. I was pleasantly surprised when I laid down on Jo's massage table! It was much more comfortable than the one used at Butke Williams! The room ambiance was just as nice, with soft lighting, soft music and ocean sound. There is also a small diffuser misting water in the air. Jo goes a step beyond Burke Williams as she has Lindt chocolates offered in a dish! We had discussed the level of pressure I preferred and whether I had any areas of concern. She advised that I could undress to the level of my comfort. I thought this was very sensitive of her as some people are uncomfortable with being nude for a massage. Personally, I prefer to be nude but others may not and I liked that she gave that option. The massage that Joe gave me was every bit as good as the massages I received at Burke Williams. She used the right amount of pressure and I felt totally relaxed afterwards. I highly recommend Jo if you are looking for a good massage at a reasonable price. I really like that she didn't talk during the massage or try to sell me anything afterwards. I found Beauty Balance by Jo when I was searching for lash lifts on Groupon. I purchased a Groupon for a lash lift and tint and was able to get an appointment the next day with Jo. She did a korean lash lift and tint and my lashes turned out great! I have pretty long lashes so it kind of looked like I had lash extensions! I am planning on getting another lash lift with Jo again next week! I also got a 60 minute full body massage with Jo today and it was a very relaxing massage. First time with Jo was 5 months ago for a lash lift. She mentioned most of her customers see her for massages so I retuned today for a massage. I should add that I live about 30 minutes away which is why I have not scheduled to see her sooner for a service as I try to drive the least amount as possible and keep all my services in my area for that reason. Jo was amazing from start to finish! I went to see her for hyaluronic pen lip fillers, and she did a great job of explaining every step of the process to me and helping keep me calm (I was nervous!). I did have pretty significant bruising afterward, but I bruise very easily so it wasn't that surprising. Next time I'll take arnica tablets ahead of time, which Jo recommended. She was also super communicative, friendly, and helpful after the appointment when I had tons of questions about the healing process.
