I have had a tough 3 years navigating an overwhelming increase with debilitating chronic pain and chronic fatigue, while also recovering from two laparoscopies due to endometriosis and pelvic pain. I thought I had tried it all (supplements, acupuncture, pelvic floor and posture therapies, yoga, meditation, various exercise programs, etc). I was recommended to try lymphatic drainage massage, and after reading the amazing reviews for Angelz Spa, I thought I'd give it a try. First off, Angelica is an angel! She is so kind and patient, and truly educated me on what my lymphatic system is, why the lymphatic system can stop working effectively, and how to keep it healthy. She has a wealth of knowledge!! Angelica introduced me to compression garments and dry brushing and suggested a gentle walking routine. Like a good student, I followed my homework, and after the first couple of sessions I felt like a new person. Over the last two months of weekly sessions, I've truly had too many WINS to count. Here are the main ones: -My swelling is significantly reduced -I am more aware of my body, and what causes my swelling. I am able to avoid triggers and/or use my compression garments to control swelling -My WBC count is the highest it has ever been and in normal range for the first time! -I have not had the GI issues that I had prior to starting MLD (which I'm SO thankful for!) -While I can't say my chronic pain and fatigue are gone, they are significantly less debilitating and my flare-ups do not last as long and aren't as frequent Thank you, Angelica!! Beauty Balance by Jo It's located in Phoenix Suites on 17th Street. The location is very convenience since it is not far from the "Orange Crush" so all of the major highways are close. I had a membership at Burke Williams for well over a year and always enjoyed their massages. But the cost kept going up and I just didn't feel I wanted to continue to commit to that much money every month. I was pleasantly surprised when I laid down on Jo's massage table! It was much more comfortable than the one used at Butke Williams! The room ambiance was just as nice, with soft lighting, soft music and ocean sound. There is also a small diffuser misting water in the air. Jo goes a step beyond Burke Williams as she has Lindt chocolates offered in a dish! We had discussed the level of pressure I preferred and whether I had any areas of concern. She advised that I could undress to the level of my comfort. I thought this was very sensitive of her as some people are uncomfortable with being nude for a massage. Personally, I prefer to be nude but others may not and I liked that she gave that option. The massage that Joe gave me was every bit as good as the massages I received at Burke Williams. She used the right amount of pressure and I felt totally relaxed afterwards. I've had many massages and prenatal massages and didn't leave feeling wowed like how I normally do. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and booked a 90 min prenatal massage. My therapist showed up just 3 mins before my scheduled appointment and she brought me into room #1 before being completely set up. The table was tiny (smaller than a normal sized massage table) and uncomfortable. There was an office door open within the room and I thought that was so weird it was left open. It felt awkward getting undressed. I'm just used to the lights being dimmed, music on prior to getting settled into the room. The massage was ok. I just felt like I was getting the same up and down movement along my spine for the majority of the service. I found myself saying "my shoulders hurt too." Hardly any time was spent on my legs, hips or arms. I wrote in my paperwork that I wanted to focus on my back and hips and verbally said my I.T bands hurt too. I did dooze off but at this point in my pregnancy anyone rubbing me down for 90 mins, anyone would. After getting off the table I felt like my hips still hurt due to the lack of padding on the table. Needless to say, I won't be rebooking. I don't feel my $135 was worth it. I know they can't help with the sound of airplanes taking off every 10 mins, but the Costa Mesa location in my opinion isn't ideal for relaxation.

I don't think I've ever had such a thorough face massage before, and it felt so good. The massage was also different from traditional massages I've had because we started with me lying face up instead of face down, and she worked on all the different areas of my body. I especially loved the stomach and tummy massage. I told Michelle that I had never had my stomach massaged before, but surprisingly, it felt SO good!
