If I can give 0 stars, I would. I came in June 7 to get my toes and nails done. I was upsold with the "gel builder" and was told by Lee it would last 3 weeks. No complaints on my toes but with my nails, the top gel builder started lifting after 6 days. I didn't call in until the following Saturday (day 13). When I called about it, they said the most they can do is give me a 10% discount because "people come in for fills after 2 weeks". I'm extremely upset that I paid $165 for my toes and nails with tip included to get nails and service of this quality. I've come here a handful of times, they are good at getting you in fast which is nice. I usually get manicures here and have gotten some cute nails. The details are not always precise, every manicure I've gotten has had something wrong like 1-2 misshapened nails, streaky polished, that sort of thing but nothing super major. This last time i got a pedicure (a few days ago) and the woman who did it hurt me more than once while doing it and i now have an infection in one of my big toes. I'm in a lot of pain and can barely walk and will need to go to urgent care today for it. She had an AirPod in and was on the phone during the whole appointment so I'm not sure if she just maybe wasn't paying attention or what but i will not be returning to this nail salon EDIT: i did email the owner as requested in a reply to this review. I sent a photo of my infected toe and gave the information requested on Saturday afternoon. They responded confirming which location i went to and asked if i knew the technicians name (unfortunately i don't). I responded to them and haven't heard anything back. Last correspondence was Saturday 6/20 around 3P, today is Monday 6/22 2P. I didn't expect any refund or anything but an apology would have been nice. read more

Very disappointed with my experience. Would leave 0 stars if I could. I've been a loyal customer for years and have always recommended this salon to friends and family. Today I tried calling starting at 3 PM but only got a busy signal the entire time. I drove 25 minutes and arrived at 5:30 PM, an hour and a half before closing, only to be told they were fully booked and I could come back another day. If the phone had been working or someone had answered to let me know, I would've gone somewhere else instead of wasting my time driving over. I even explained I had been trying to call for hours, but was told it was just an issue with their phone with no real apology or accountability. Why would I come in for a gel man and ped and want two different vibes? That makes no sense- then the front desk girl is giving me a dirty look paired with a dirt attitude and poor quality customer service. I have given them several tries now- both times the manicurist cut me. This time she filed my nail bed so thin the middle of my nail started BLEEDING. It's been over 4 years since I've been able to return to 3 thirty 3 in Costa Mesa due to my moving to LA. I've lived in the Porter Ranch area for that time and have yet to find a nail salon that even comes close to the professionalism , talent and amazing people that make 3 Thirty 3 the best at what they do! Today, I called to make an appointment and just gave my name .When I walked in the front desk manager recognized me immediately and that alone tells you how in tune they are to their clients . I was seated in a pedi chair when my nail artist came and recommended what she felt was best for my nails. After a 1/2 hour one of the owners came to my chair and grabbed my arm and said it's sooo good to see you welcome back we are so happy you returned . At that point another nail artist turned to me and said I saw you walk in, but I wasn't sure.. this type of customer care and courtesy is extremely rare and today's day and age! My go to salon for a simple set! I like coming here for a fill and gel without any special designs. I found that with more complicated designs it doesn't turn out as nice as the inspo pictures I provide. The interior is pretty, staff is friendly, they have a huge color selection, and offer refreshments. Parking can be hard when it's busy. It is a small parking lot for multiple businesses. I came in with a photo of a design, and they told me they could do it--but clearly, they couldn't. They managed to do the tips, but they couldn't add the line below the tip (see photos) and also tried drawing the line in a different brown. Once I realized they couldn't execute it, I just asked them to make everything the same color and matte to keep it cohesive. Sad to say, but we will no longer be coming back here. We called to see if they could get us in in the morning and they said they needed to do 1 o'clock. We arrived for our appointment and finally after waiting 25 minutes I mentioned something and she said we weren't gonna be able to be seen another half an hour. An hour after our appointment! I said why didn't you let us know when we got there that you were running so far behind and she didn't really have a reason. Just they scheduled wrong. The time before when we were there, my massage was supposed to be 15 minutes and it was only 11. I didn't say anything, but I feel like I should have. I asked on the way out if they would do 50% off or anything since it was there error and she said no. Just disappointed, this was our go to place but if you can't acknowledge a mistake, it's not worth my time. I walked in for a fill today because I was just next door at the spa for a facial service. I felt my service here was very rushed and there were lots of details missed. My nail tech was kind, but the shape of my nails and the cuticles were left messy with lots of glue and not much detail. It is quite uncomfortable. I decided to give them a try since they're are so many fantastic reviews but my visit was subpar at best. I did show up a bit late to my appointment and considering they were extremely busy, I had no issue waiting. Receptionist gave me a 15 min wait time so I thought, "no problem". Once they sat me in a chair, I proceeded to wait another 20 minutes. I was getting so impatient, at that point I could've gone to my regular spot. No one offered me anything to drink so I had to ask. They limit you to 1 glass of champagne but my usual spot does a limit of 2. No snacks which was a bummer. The job was alright. Did everything super quickly. No attention to detail. There was a resin from the gel sticking out of my nail when I left. My massage was also disappointing. Pedicurist only massaged my calves and barely got to the soles.The color palettes were pretty scattered around. Price was cheaper than most and that's why I don't go to places like this. I normally go to the Thirty Three Nails on 17th in Costa Mesa, the total came out to $100 for: * $40 gel manicure (polish only, natural nails) * $60 gel pedicure with French tip + callus scrub (callus not fully removed) Prices were noticeably higher than the other location. The main issue was the polish: I chose "Baby's Breath," which showed as opaque off-white on the chart, but applied sheer and transparent. When I pointed it out, I was told it was my choice of color, even though it didn't match the sample. They eventually applied a white polish, but the finish looked uneven and not worth the cost. Overall, the quality didn't match the price. I wouldn't return to this location. read more

Amazing nail salon!! Been coming to this place for a few years now. It's right by the Camp in Costa Mesa, cute salon and clean. They always offer you a beverage (coffee, tea, water, champagne, soda). I've never had a bad experience, everyone is so nice and friendly. I usually go in on Saturday mornings (without an appointment) and they're always kind enough to get me in. They have plenty of colors to choose from and are always updated on the latest trends going around. I usually get poly dip or gel x on my nails and have always left happy! Pretty disappointed in my experience here. It was highly recommended on social media and it did not live up to the hype in my opinion for how much you pay. Some of the positives are that it's a clean and well maintained place with friendly nail techs. I appreciated that they unpackaged new or clean tools. They offer a variety of drinks when you sit down. I did like the acrylic flower art another nail tech did for me and I thought my pedicure overall was decent. However, the cons really outweighed the pros. I got cut 4 times from the nail techs doing my nails. That's the most I've ever gotten cut at any salon. My friend who came with me also go cut. I showed a picture of my inspiration nails and while I understand they won't always look exactly like the photo I don't think they were able to achieve the pearl tip nail I was hoping for (inspo photo attached below). I wish when I asked the tech if she could do it she would've just told me she couldn't. However I was also disappointed with the basic French tip painted on initially before adding the pearl. The sides of my nails are sloppy/incomplete. Some of my nails also have bubbles in them so it's not smooth. They left a ton of glue under our nails as well. I would never return . I came in for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure, and unfortunately, this was one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. From the moment I sat down, things felt rushed and unprofessional. The nail tech, PAULA, did my gel manicure in 15 minutes, no soak, no prep, just aggressively shaved off my previous polish with a drill. I told her multiple times that it was hurting and burning, but she continued, even after acknowledging that my nails were thin. It felt like she was trying to damage them just to upsell me on gel builder. She didn't fix the shape, even after I asked several times. Instead, she just brushed it off. Then, in the middle of my pedicure, she interrupted to make me pay because she wanted to go home . Mind u , it was 5 pm , while I was still in the chair, with wet toes, no card in hand. I had to hand over my phone for Apple Pay, which didn't even show the total at the time. I later realized they overcharged me $168 for services I didn't agree to. They charged for a gel pedicure (I asked for regular polish), and an extra $5 for "Special Shape " for my Mom's gel builder Manicure while she was keeping the same Almond shape she came in with , this was not communicated with us at all. , When I questioned it, they told me I "should know how nail pricing works." I've never in my life been charged extra for keeping the same shape! When I brought it up to the manager, he showed no concern or apology. I was literally reshaping my own nails with a file during my pedicure because no one else would fix them. They finally voided the first charge and ran my card again for $143 , again, while I was still in the chair, still receiving service, still trying to relax. Johnny kindly reshaped my nails at the end, and Kimberly, did a good job with the pedicure despite all the chaos. But this does not make up for the incredibly rude, painful, and uncomfortable experience overall. I'm still charged for both amounts in my bank account. Being asked to pay mid service, hand over my phone, and tip before anything was even finished was not only unprofessional, it was incredibly disrespectful.
