I was gifted a gift card for an hour 1/2 massage back in May and finally got the chance to use it this last week. I came in for my 10am massage appointment and Shari greeted me at the front desk, she was very sweet and attentive. The atmosphere was very calm and super clean. My massage was done by Kyna and we started exactly at 10am and it was THE best massage I've ever had. She asked me a few questions before we started about some areas on my body I might want her to avoid or focus more on. Kyna made me feel very comfortable and safe. I work a pretty physical job so I had really big knots and her technique was amazing, she is very skilled at what she does. I felt pressure leaving my body that I didn't even know was there lol. I want to start off by saying that I've been here 2 other times and have had a really great experience! It's very clean and calm inside. The first time, I had a brow lamination and the second time, a brow wax. Both were pretty nice. This third time though... I got a brow wax and service was great (as usual), but once I left and took a good look at myself, I saw that the tail of my left eyebrow was gone. I want to think this was a fluke. However, this was genuinely the worst eyebrow wax I've gotten. I was pretty sad because I like this place, but this really messed me up :( I have pretty full eyebrows, so it's quite noticeable. I needed eyelashes stat. I had a formal event lined up and didn't feel ready for it; I wasn't in the best shape and felt wholly unattractive. Well, I found an instant cure for the uglies: beautiful voluminous lashes! My technician, Bella, was very patient and fastidious. While she worked on my lashes, I dozed, listening to spa music. After two hours, I had the kind of lashes you usually see in IG filters! All night I received compliments and a couple of requests for where I got them done. I also loved the salon. She was very helpful in pointing out some of the changes in my environment related to my move from a humid location back to a dry and cold location, the stress of relocating and how we continue to maintain are huge factors in the changes we encounter with our skin, aside from aging. I trust Ms. Hannah's feedback and recommendations. She was open to giving time for my skin to adjust to the drastic change in weather, recommended basic, and in-depth products to help with direct issues I know I've been having over the years, and offered guidance for morning and night routines. I began working with Hannah in September after my skin went haywire after getting surgery in July 2022. I've never had great skin- but it has gotten to the point where makeup wasn't covering anything, I didn't want to go out, and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. I've seen a couple of aestheticians over the last year- and they always push their products on me, changing regiments every time I'm there, which means more money for different products. I just didn't vibe with their personalities and felt that if I was going to be spending money, it was in a place where I felt heard rather than just another client. I'd been following BBHL on Instagram since I moved to San Diego in 2020 and decided to make an appointment after seeing the Acne program. It was exactly what I wanted- someone to look at my skin, tell me what was wrong, and what I needed to do/use to fix my skin. I showed up to BBHL for my first appointment with a makeup bag full of probably 20 products that I'd purchased with my last two aestheticians. Hannah looked through everything and wrote me a regiment using most of what I had, and we've been using what I have and some of her products. When I run out of something- I buy something in her spa. She's never pressured me about only using her products, and the prices are so reasonable. I've been consistently getting facials about once every 3 weeks and the difference is amazing! I just took a picture this morning- no makeup, in the sun (biggest insecurity) and I can't believe it! (Pics posted below from September before Hannah- one month, and this AM). I had high hopes about this place based on reviews. I found Hannah to be quite impersonal. Nice, sure- but seemed distracted and uninterested in connecting in any meaningful way that would make me want to return. Prior to starting my facial, she asked what products I used; she expressed concern that the products I use were drying my skin, "So I will look up the specific products when I put your mask on so I can make recommendations"; she never did that. She did push products upon my checking out, which was the most engaging she was during my 1.5 hour visit. She also said she would call me "next week" (my appointment was on a Thursday) to follow up on my facial/check-in/ensure my skin responded favorably. Never heard from her. That was over 3 wks ago. After tipping quite generously and sadly getting suckered (my bad) into buying a couple of products, I anticipated better follow through. I will not be returning and would not recommend Hannah's services. Perhaps her team members are more effective in customer relations/service. I want to acknowledge Jordyne, at the front desk. She was lovely, gracious, and efficient in accommodating a request I made when checking out. read more

The stars aligned when I saw an opportunity to try out a Sculptural/Bucca facial that I have been wanting for years! I was able to book an appt with Ciara and I was counting down the days for this experience! Ciara communicated with me several days prior and was already sending a sweet and kind energy!
