I did the tropical Pedicure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Over all I had a great experience with the nail salon. I will definitely come back for any special occasion to treat myself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The salon is priced high but i agree with the luxury service they provide. I waited 15 mins before being seated but I was a walk in so that was alright. I thought my pedicure was relaxing, I liked the luxurious chairs with heat warmers. I thought my leg massage could have been a little better with some more pressure. It felt like the nail tech just was rubbing my legs. But I thought she did a great job on removing my calluses and cuticle care. I got the gel for my toes as well and they did a good job on the shape and paint. I'm satisfied. The presentation for the pedicure was very nice . But i didn't think the sliced lemon and oranges that they rub on your legs were necessary.

This is absolutely my favorite nail salon. I would try different places because I never left the nail salon fully satisfied but ever since coming to New Era nails I never leave disappointed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment you walk in you're greeted with smiles and acknowledgment, they always offer you complementary drinks, and they are always so accommodating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Jason is my nail tech, I am OBSESSED with the way he leaves my nails. 100/10. I just show him my inspo pic and he pulls through EVERY SINGLE TIME, if you're considering coming here just DO IT, it's so worth it I promise!

I visited New Era Nail Salon in La Mesa today after finding them on Instagram, and I was really excited to try it. The salon looks beautiful online--and in person, it absolutely delivers. The decor is modern, luxurious, and very well done. It feels clean, trendy, and like a place you'd genuinely enjoy spending time in. They also offer complimentary drinks, which adds to the experience. I called right when they opened at 9:00 AM and made a 9:30 appointment, specifically requesting a female technician. They confirmed that wouldn't be a problem. The biggest downside--by far--is parking. The salon is in a small plaza near a very popular yoga studio, and even at 9:30 in the morning, it was extremely crowded. There was no parking available, and I had to park on the street and walk about 5-7 minutes. If you're not a fan of walking or are short on time, this can be frustrating. From what I was told, this is an ongoing issue. Once inside, I checked in with the front desk (a woman with glasses who seemed to manage reservations--quiet but polite). I waited about 5-10 minutes before my nail technician, Anne, started my manicure. She did a good job in terms of quality, and she was polite, but not very engaging. I had the sense she was trying to move quickly rather than create a relaxing experience. I asked for a specific color and later a small flower design--she executed it well, but overall I didn't feel a warm or welcoming energy. I probably wouldn't book with her again. For my pedicure, there was a mix-up. Despite clearly requesting a female technician, I was initially assigned a male technician. I had to decline and ended up waiting another ~15 minutes, which was frustrating. That said, Lani completely turned the experience around. She was incredibly friendly, warm, and apologetic for the delay. She took her time, explained things, and made the experience feel relaxing and enjoyable--exactly what you want during "me time." She did an excellent job on my pedicure, and I would absolutely book with her again. She really made the visit worth it. In terms of pricing, it's on the higher side compared to other salons in the area, but not unreasonable given the ambiance and offerings. I chose one of their more premium treatments (the one with honey and orange--it looked amazing on Instagram), and it was a great experience. Overall: beautiful salon, good quality work, but some operational issues--mainly parking, wait times, and not honoring specific requests consistently. Lani was the highlight and the reason I'm giving this 4 stars. Would return--but only if I can book with Lani and plan ahead for parking.

Very high quality service for nails! They have so many color options and staff available. They are very busy here but while I was here I didn't see anyone waiting more than 15 minutes. The vibe is classy, I like it a lot. I will be back to enjoy another pedicure.

$65 for an Acrylic French Tip full set but they will charge you $70 once you get to the salon and tell you nail tips are $5 extra
    Jane D.

Just as expected, this nail salon continues to lie about their pricing in their reply to my review. I never asked for extra length nor long nails, period. I specifically asked for the exact same service that was advertised on their menu, which was the *SHORT* and *SQUARE* French tip *ACRYLIC* nails. Nothing more, nothing less. When I was seated, I was initially told by the nail tech that it was $65 until another male tech told her to charge me an additional $5 for the plastic nail tips. Adding nail tips is standard practice when doing full set acrylic nails and is not considered an extra charge at any other nail salon I have ever visited in my life except for The New Era Nails. Even the other nail salon that I visited afterwards agreed and said that it was ridiculous for The New Era Nails to charge extra for nail tips. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also not surprising that most of their reply fixated on the most minor aspect of my review, which was the wait time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only was this not a main complaint of mine, but I specifically noted how the wait to be serviced was "only" 20 minutes. The only reason why I brought up the wait time again at the end of my review was because I had waited for nothing. This was the most insignificant detail of my review, yet they strategically chose to address it more than their scamming and discrimination tactics. The deflection is so obvious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not to mention how they also failed to address the rude receptionist who lacked customer service skills.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What a shame for a business.

my face had been red for 10 minutes with a tingling sensation i have gotten my face waxed before never felt like this

I came here for a pedicure and paid $48. It was okay, but in my opinion it wasn't worth the price. I've had the same quality of pedicure elsewhere for less. I also got a full face wax for $45, and unfortunately, that was the most disappointing part of my visit. The waxer applied the wax in inconsistent directions and was very rough on my skin. It was uncomfortable enough that I opened my eyes during the service because I wanted to make sure I wasn't imagining how harsh it felt. What concerned me the most was my skin afterward. My face remained very red and continued to have a tingling, stinging sensation for over 10 minutes after the service. I've had my face waxed many times before, and while I'm used to mild redness or a brief sting, I've never experienced discomfort that lasted this long. My total came out to $95. I understand businesses can update their pricing, but they still had an outdated price list displayed, and I wasn't informed that the full face wax would be $45 before the service started. I think pricing should be communicated clearly beforehand to avoid surprises. Overall, this experience wasn't worth the cost for me. If you're looking for alternatives, I've personally had better experiences at Price Breakers for a full face wax (around $25) and Pink Polish Nails in National City for a pedicure (around $38). Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

Clean salon with a lot of space and nice mocktails and service overall. I came in for a gel mani and pedi with soak off which I called ahead to book. The gel mani was pricey and chipped within a week, but I called them immediately and they told me to come in and fixed the chipped nail. $55 before tip for gel manicure but I had to come back for the fix which was not ideal. The gel pedicure I got on the other hand was $60 and phenomenal, the attention to detail and quality was great. I'd come back for a pedicure. So 4 stars for the pedi and salon service but 3 for the mani experience I had. Parking in the strip mall lot but it can get busy in the evenings making parking harder to find.

This place is BEAUTIFUL! Whoever designed and decorated really thought of everything, the brightness, the decadence, the luxury.. its exquisite. We got pedicures and I felt like I was a queen. I only get my nails done once or twice a year, but with the amazing staff, gorgeous facility, and excellent service, I may need to treat myself more often!

New Era Nails has the most LUXURIOUS pedicure service in San Diego. This spot just opened a couple months ago in La Mesa and is absolutely stunning and was totally relaxing! I splurged and got the Deluxe Golden Era Pedicure ($105 regular nail polish and $120 for gel) includes: - a complimentary cocktail or mocktail - callus removal - fresh orange and lime peels; - gold sea salt and sugar - a collagen mask with warm steam - paraffin wax - a pampering 20 minute massage with 24k gold and gold butter lotion along with hot stones *Stephen was absolutely incredible!

Came back like I said I would! This time I had my precious, badly applied, gel x set filed down and replaced with builder gel. Demi was super sweet and fun to chat with and she did a wonderful job working with what was left on my nails. New Era Nails is definitely now my go to spot for nails. Both times I've been in staff has been kind and attentive and have never made me feel rushed.

Jason did my acrylic nails yesterday and they are exactly what I wanted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You walk in and you are kindly greeted by front desk staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It actually smells really good in the salon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Jason offered me a complimentary drink, got the rundown on the service and executed what I wanted perfectly![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My new nail spot!

When I am able to splurge on myself to a pedi I usually go to Spa & Co so can enjoy a drink with my pedi but I heard about the renovations and new ownership here so decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxing. They have some new massage chairs that I was lucky enough to get. Decided to do the Era Tropical spa pedicure. Kayden was very nice and attentive. It did not feel rushed like some salons been too. Really enjoyed the complimentary mocktail. There are a few flavor options to choose from as well as some alcoholic options. Was a very enjoyable pampering session. One of the best quality of pedicures had which was a nice treat. Really enjoyed the candle wax and hot stones. Price is thought was pretty competitive. Definitely worth the money and enjoyed it more than my usual go to. I will certainly be back!

I'm a ClassPass client nearing my monthly renewal, and this experience made my decision for me…read more Due to a death in my immediate family, I had to leave the state unexpectedly. Rather than lose 40 credits (~$80), I booked a facial for my wife. Yes, ClassPass credits are typically non-transferable--but this was an obvious situation where a little basic human judgment should have applied. My wife showed up, explained everything, and was turned away--despite the appointment being on their books. They refused the service and still kept the credits. No service rendered, no flexibility offered, no attempt to do the right thing. That tells me everything I need to know. This is a business that values squeezing $80 out of a customer over showing even minimal decency. Short-sighted, tone-deaf, and not the kind of people I'll ever do business with again. Enjoy the $80. Karma has a way of keeping score. Follow-Up: I received a response from the owner attempting to justify what happened, but it completely missed the facts. This wasn't a case of someone trying to misuse credentials in a typical sense--it was a one-on-one appointment that was already booked, paid for with credits, and ultimately went unused. My wife showed up, explained the situation clearly, and was still turned away. No service was provided, yet the credits were kept. Comparing this to standard "no sharing accounts" policies is a weak and inaccurate analogy. This situation called for basic judgment and a small amount of flexibility--neither of which was shown. The owner's response only reinforces my original impression: this business is more focused on rigid policies and protecting a minor dollar amount than on treating people reasonably, even under exceptional circumstances. That tells me everything I need to know
