A lot of people who live in the harrisbrug area do you not realize, that there is a Sephora inside…read morethe Harrisburg JCPenney's. Although this is not a full-fledged the flora with all of the retail brands and products at a normal size before it is a hidden gem for the Harrisburg area and make up lovers. The major drawback to this small Sephora is that you never know if you're going to get good service or not. Sometimes I go there and I'm so impressed by the staff there so knowledgeable and helpful and funny and entertaining and I could spend hours shopping. Other times I leave so frustrated because my questions when unanswered they were understaffed or just completely ignored me. This was one of those irritating times. I would rather early in the morning and I noticed the store it was quite busy. And it was only one person working! Which was no biggie because I actually really like the person who is on staff today she's super nice and super sweet! But she was totally overwhelmed she was working with the client and there was about four other people needing her assistance (not including myself). She was really struggling I asked her if she was the only one working and that I would rather wait for assistance from someone else then put more on her plate. She assured me that her manager was there and he had to run out for a minute. Well I waited over 20 minutes for this "manager" to come back. While this poor poor girl was running around helping people ringing them up and still working with a client in her chair!!! I waited another 10 minutes (she finally got back from jcpennys to help ring people out). Finally after 30+ minutes I Brokedown interrupted her I asked for my quick question which she help me with and I paid being rung out by the other JCPenney worker and walk to my car. And when I got to my car guess what I saw!!! Her manager was outside talking to someone else smoking! What kind of manager abandons their staff for 30+ minutes to smoke a cigarette! I'm not making judgments on the weather smoking is bad or not but I believe that if you have to smoke then you go outside you smoke and you come back save it for your break when you have a long smoke break! So just to reiterate my point either the staff completely rocks or they completely suck at it just depends on who you going to get! I only know one staff members name because my memory is horrible and her name is Amber and she's awesome. There's a tall thin blonde chick who used to work at Mac cosmetics and she's pretty awesome and down-to-earth. And the lady was working today I think her name starts with an S and she is black and has the sweetest voice ever and she's completely awesome! So if you go there I recommend finding a female for help or I hope you have a lot of patients!

Unfortunately, it's not. I've never once been greeted in this store. The employees literally look at me and then look away. I actually thought that might have been a "thing"; then I realized they greeted other customers. So it is just a thing with me. I've gone on different days and at different times, and it's been the same each time. Completely rude and off-putting. There is ONE--just ONE--employee that I think is awesome--I don't want to put her name in my review, but she's petite, with long, straight blonde hair and big blue eyes. She really makes her eyes pop with mascara. She's gorgeous and sincerely the only nice employee there. If you see her, make a beeline and make sure she gets credit for your sale. I spend an average of $150 each time I come in, and the treatment is still the same. One time, I wanted to return something (unused). When I went to return it, the employee asked me if I had used it--not to worry, if it was used they'd still take it back (I know ma'am, I've been shopping at Sephora for years). I told her it wasn't used. She then asked AGAIN, as she was returning it ("Are you sure? Like no swatches on anything?") and I was like--what? I was really taken aback. Witch, didn't I tell you I didn't use it? Check for yourself if you don't believe me! I couldn't believe she asked me that. Why would I lie? Open the box and look. Fresh AF. Bye. The only reason I come here is because items that sell out fast on the Sephora website are normally still here--especially in colors that work for me. But, as of today, they still haven't stocked the NARS Velvet Matte Foundation Stick, which was released at all the other Sephora's almost three months ago. And surprise, surprise--no employee can help when I ask about them or when they'll be in. Being both a former retail employee and a former makeup artist, I understand how stressful the job can be--and I'm also an easy sell. You give me good service, I'll give you a sale (even if they aren't on commission, they're still tracked for sales). But, I'm to the point that if Pretty Blonde isn't there to help me, I'll drive out to a standalone Sephora or hop on the website instead of spend my money here.
