For the first time in five years, I was 100% thrilled from the initial phone call to make the appointment to walking out the door with the haircut I've been trying to get. I went into another salon and asked them for a conditioning treatment to help with my broken hair as well as I asked for an 8G toner to be put in. 8G is the color I have had previously at West Coast hair and had told Kayla I was happy with (read previous review). The toner was left in my hair for 20 minutes at the new salon (NOT due to me requesting any specific time frame for them to leave on, thats the time they naturally did!) and the conditioning treatment helped make the damaged hair less noticeable. Not only did Kayla make me take time off from work to go in and then do nothing the help correct the damage Kayla had caused, I was humiliated and berated being told that they could not help me when it is now 100% certain that Kayla did not leave it on as long as she had previously, and her overlapping the bleach caused the breakage. Avoid the embarrassment of being told it is your fault for not being able to put into words how to fix their stylists error of breaking my hair, and not leaving the toner in and making me feel it was my fault. Shame on the owner for the way she handled it, and shame on Kayla for not owning up and re toning and conditioning to fix her error.

A few years ago I went to a different Hair Cuttery in Orange Park that completely messed up my…read morehaircut. Don't know what that lady was doing. I came to this location to try and fix it. They absolutely saved me!! Had to go shorter but it ended up being really cute!! The reason I'm putting three stars is I recently went back to this location for a blunt in the back trim, face framing layers in the front, and curtain bangs. I ended up with someone I've never had cut my hair before. Oh. My. Word. How in the world does this girl have a license to cut hair?! This new lady was very kind and stayed an hour after closing for me to do this, which I was very grateful for. She had said coming in around 45 mins before they closed was fine (I called ahead asking if I could come that night or if I should wait until the next day and she said just to come in that night). However, she did everything wrong!! Not to mention the bickering her and the other closing lady had in-front of my husband and I. I wish I could remember their names. The other lady wanting to leave with her bf left the lady cutting my hair still alone in the salon when apparently that's against their policy. So awkward and unprofessional of the one who left the one cutting my hair. Anyways, the one cutting my hair that night gave me layers in the back when I told her not to. And then - the front. Oh my gosh it was terrible!! I didn't even realize how bad it was until I got home!! The hair in the whole front half of my head was chopped short. She gave me such thick bangs that started in the middle of my head and they were chunks! I had to keep asking her to try and feather/blend these out. There was no hair left in the front to create face framing layers. When I asked where they were she lifted up like maybe 10 strands of the long hair I had left in the front and pointed to non existent layers. Oh!! And she didn't even cut the back straight!! Y'all, she did me so dirty!! Luckily, I had a friend who was able to somewhat salvage what I had left. I'm still trying to grow all of this out. I gave the woman a HUGE tip out of gratitude for her staying so late for me and for doing, what I thought at first, was a pretty decent job. Gosh I wish I didn't do that. I'm a people pleaser. I should have gone back and complained but I just couldn't. Let me just say this about Hair Cuttery: I have never had a terrible haircut or a disaster hair cut, until I started coming to their locations. Sometimes they have good stylist. And sometimes, their stylist should not be allowed to hold scissors. Spend the extra money and go to a nicer salon. Don't gamble with Hair Cuttery unless you've found someone who is good and you STICK with that person. Or do it yourself, or find a friend who can do it for you. Y'all probably get better results anyways. Let's just say I'm scarred.

PLEASE DO NOT! go to this place it will mess you up soooooooooooooooooooooo bad!!!!!!!!!!!! plus it doesn't even deserve a one star review if i could i would do zero.

Unfortunately we didn't see it when we got to the fragrance section, but a lovely employee came to assist. She said they did have it in stock, but sadly did not have a tester yet. Another lady joined in and showed they were at the register and they had sold one earlier in the day and the customer who purchased it had been nice enough to open it in the store and allow them to smell it. Both ladies said it smelled wonderful. My sister then said she wanted it but only had a coupon available for an online purchase. The lady offered to apply her coupon in store. My sister than opened the perfume so the ladies and I could smell it and it was amazing as they had said. This is a very nice, clean Ulta and the employees were wonderful. Ulta management should try to have testers so everyone can enjoy the scents and make sure they like it before they buy, just my opinion.

The appointment started off uncomfortably when the stylist next to me overheard what I do for a living (title insurance) and commented that I work in "legalized extortion." Not only was this wildly inappropriate, it made me feel awkward and judged right from the start. I had a thorough consultation with my stylist and we agreed that to achieve the look I wanted--light ends contrasting with a deeper base--I'd need a full lightening service rather than the partial that was originally quoted. I agreed to the upcharge with the expectation that I'd get the desired result. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. Instead of a smooth, dimensional color, I ended up with chunky highlights, a grown-out root look, and ends that are still noticeably darker than the base. It looks like a rushed job and not at all the intentional contrast we discussed. To make things worse, there are two very obvious bright white spots at my hairline where toner was completely missed. I brought this up when I got home and noticed it (Avery really should have caught them when washing or styling my hair, they're quite obvious) and the stylist did offer to fix it, but her availability didn't line up with mine. I explained that I couldn't take another hour and a half off work to come in during the week, given the 30+ minute drive each way, which she knows because we live near each other. Rather than showing understanding, she got defensive and told me it wouldn't take long and that I should reach out to the salon owner if I had further concerns. The one bright spot in all this (well, other than the 2 in my hairline) is that the haircut turned out well, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. But overall, this was a frustrating experience with results I'm unhappy with and a lack of professionalism I didn't expect from a salon at this price point. I won't be returning.

At the time of signing in June 2025, I was told my deposit was $512.50, which I paid and was given a receipt. My daughter booked a hair and makeup trial (at an additional cost) and to say the least it was very disappointing. The makeup gal's air brush wasn't working so she had to everything free hand. The finished makeup trial left my daughter extremely saddened, and we voiced this to the salon. They offered a 2nd trial at no cost, and let's just say that this one was even worse. My daughter said she could have done better by herself! This is supposed to be a magical day where my daughter gets made up for her big day! So now it is time to pay the balance, and my contract clearly states that I have up to 14 days before the wedding to make changes. With 17 days until the wedding, I called and emailed to make changes and was told I could not and I would be charged full price, plus they didn't have any record of my deposit, which, thank the Lord I saved, because I had to send it to them. I clipped out that part of my contract and emailed it to the salon asking if they would re-consider. I got a very positive email stating that the person I spoke to had no idea about my contract and shouldn't have said anything. They would be happy to make changes. WHAT A RELIEF!! Or so I thought. That never happened. I got a whole crap load of run around with stylists and new employees and a "manager". I was told that our Google Doc (not my contract) had 6 people and that the salon had booked out 2 folks, a makeup and a hair stylist (which we would have had anyway?) and that since I didn't pay 50% down they were going to charge me 50% of the girls that were originally booked on the Google Doc (not the contract). I kept saying my contract says I have up 14 days to make changes, but they kept going back to the whole "You didn't pay 50% down". You told me what to pay, so I paid it?? How is it my fault if the girl at the front desk didn't remember to add on gratuity or travel?? Why am I being penalized? I kept trying to get a reason out of the "manager", but she dug her heels in and expected me to pay the additional fees. I asked her one last time, "So you are not going to honor your contract?", and no she did not. We found an angel to take over the makeup and hair for my daughter's wedding on short notice, so I cancelled my contract, understanding that my $512.50 deposit is non-refundable. Just a warning for any of you brides to be who wish to use this salon...I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. The customer service in this salon is absolutely ridiculous, is no professionalism, no positivity, no willingness to honor a contract, and lastly, the artistry of the staff left a lot to be desired. You are way better off going elsewhere.
