As a USCG and CAARNG Veteran, 10 years in social work, 8 years of higher education, and currently self-employed, and taking a chance to give back to a local Escondido business owner, I received the 1st worst unprofessional facial service provided by Maria. I walked in and felt the rush and anxiousness of Maria. She would toggle back and forth for approximately 20mins with another existing client. Instead of healing hands, my face felt like it was going through a drive through car wash. During the middle of my session (very unprofessional), she answered her phone, and the loud talk began. She would share how her brother just died and how she was worried about her son. I remained silent and somehow it seems, my silence made her uncomfortable. She would then make comments and give her (ignorant) opinion stating, "oh that's why, " when I stated I didn't have children. Which is none of her business, for my son Stephen Lindsey Stacey III, has passed away. There was nothing in Marias rapid anxiousness, which encouraged an open invitation to share. Therefore, I would NOT recommend Maria, for lack of kindness, time management, and a professional capacity to separate interruptions from family life to work/professional life. Now, I am not without empathy. However, Maria did not respect me enough to let me know ahead of time, she was still working with a client, and she was dealing with personal problems, influencing her rapid robotic hands, which may interfere with what should have been complete attention to facial. Had I known this, I would have cancelled. Facials are very personal, a healing time, a time to relax, a time of peace and bringing out the best experience. If you are looking for a place to get regular facials and treatments, this review is for you. I have gotten facials and treatments here every month for 4months before giving this review. I was never a fan of getting facials because I got facial scars when I did over 10yrs ago that took so long to disappear. I thought I never needed a facial because my skin looks great. So what more can a facial or treatment do, right? Though I have been thinking like that for years, I know that skincare is important so I was open to trying places until I found the best fit for me. I decided to try getting one at Beauty Glimpse because a friend highly recommended Maria. Last December 2021 was our first visit to this place. It was for a hydra-facial for my husband and me. I wasn't expecting that much neither was my husband because he thinks getting a facial is unnecessary for men. Maria gave us a skin consultation before proceeding with the facial. Her hands are so gentle, she was very thorough and took her time. She didn't just do a regular facial. It was an amazing facial treatment. My husband and I are very impressed and decided to book another one after 1 month. Prices are very reasonable compared to other places. What I love the most is that if you have any skin concerns Maria will recommend treatments or products but you won't feel pressured. It will be our 4th regular facial with her this month but after just 2 visits with Maria, my husband and I are already getting more compliments about how our facial skin looks so great. My skin looks more like glass skin now and my husband's face always looks like he is fresh out of the shower even if it's the end of the day. Consistency in following what Maria recommended helped us achieve more healthy glowing skin in a short amount of time. Facials and treatments won't show improvements on our skin if we do not follow through with skincare at home. So we decided to add her product recommendations to our daily skincare routine. I use her glass skin toner 2x a day and serum at night. My husband uses her AHA whitening boost serum at night. I highly recommend these products. My first visit to Beauty glimpse was the day before an important photo shoot. I wanted a facial and was having trouble finding anyone with availability last minute. Luckily, I got ahold of Maria, the owner and esthetician; she was very accommodating and told me to come in that afternoon. She performed a hydra-facial and let me add on microcurrent (glad I did because I looked so refreshed afterward!). I had been driving all over town since morning, running from one appointment to another and was desperately trying to book another same day appointment elsewhere after the facial. As I was getting ready to leave, Maria told me that she also performs body contouring and would stay a little longer if I wanted to add it on. A wave of relief immediately washed over me; I didn't have to book another appointment and drive across town after all! Happily, I said yes. The treatment took about an hour. She made sure to pay extra attention to certain areas of concern and advised me to drink lots of water to help flush out the toxins (she even gave me a cup of tea to help detox). You know that feeling...the feeling that everything is working with you? Well, that's how I felt after speaking with Maria. She's down to earth and wants to help you get results. Facials were okay didn't really feel a difference on my skin. For anyone struggling with acne and have really sensitive skin I suggest to stay with your regular routine and not buy products. I had my acne under control, all I needed was to remove the scars but after using her products it broke me out so now I have to get rid of my acne. I was also very stern about not wanting to buy products bc my skin breaks out easy but in order to remove the scars I needed to use the products she recommended. She is very kind tho.
