KK was suppose to do my facial, but wasn't available so CiCi (or spelt CeCe) took care of me instead. Yo! The facial hurt like hell! Had me tearing up, lol. It was painful, but my face felt so nice and clean afterwards! CiCI was very nice and sweet. She was honest and very knowledgeable. She showed me the paper with my ugly pores and gunk, lol. It was disgusting. We even joked around a bit too! I have a lot of tattoos and I mentioned how the facial hurts more than getting a tattoo, lol. But the massage was very comfortable and relaxing. The entire process was overall excellent and I enjoyed it. I caught myself dozing off a few times. Yes, my face was red after but also glowing. CiCi also said that I have some skin tags she can pluck or laser them off next time. She mentioned there is numbing cream which I'll probably need. I heard it's painful, lol. I'm scared. I'm so glad I gave Beauty Legend a try for a particularly troublesome spot on my face. I was a little skeptical at first since this was my first experience here, but I have to applaud KK for her service and expertise. I think the thing with facial is you're not really sure whether or not your troubles can be addressed until they see (or feel) what's going on on your skin. There's some places that offers consulting services, but with the pandemic, some places only do this online or over the phone, which may or may not even help. I gave Beauty Legend a call to book an appointment after reading about all the extraction experiences over on Yelp and Google and it seemed like a solid place to try. Originally, my appointment with KK was going to next Saturday, but I had let her know if any spots open up over this weekend, let me know. And thankfully, KK did fit me into her schedule for Sunday! Woohoo! Thank you so much, KK! As for service, I wasn't exactly sure which service package I needed. I wasn't even sure what the heck was going on with my skin at that particular spot. Thankfully, when KK felt it, she was able to easily pinpoint what I needed. It really was just a two minute treatment sort of thing, but I ended up going for the Super Hydrating Treatment experience since my facial was long overdue. Plus, my skin was a bit dry anyways. I was apprehensive going in to Beauty Legend because of the pandemic and all, but I feel Beauty Legend has their sanitation really down. Plexiglass was installed at the front desk. Service provided by appointment only so that they can limit the amount of people going in and out. My appointment was the first slot of the day, so it was just me and KK there. I felt safe, clean, and comfortable! The facial experience was great, relaxing, and much needed (except of course, the whiteheads, blackheads, and pimple extractions). She was really thorough with the extractions, moreso that any other place I went to. KK also informed me of some things I didn't know about my own skin, like how it scars easily. As someone who has had horrible cystic acne growing up and still struggles with breakouts around that time of the month, I decided to give beauty legend a try. Beauty legend is the perfect combination of harsh and effective yet relaxing. I have found that for my particular skin needs a simple relaxing facial where the aesthetician just applies a variety of face masks does not cut it. I am someone who needs extractions and I must say that KK and CC are by far some of the most skilled and talented aestheticians! The acne facials can usually take an hour and a half or more, and usually start with cleansing the face, steaming, applying a face mask, washing off the face mask, extractions, two more face masks, a small shoulder massage, and face lotions to finish everything off. I must say however, that this facial is not for the faint of heart. The extractions are excruciatingly painful and will cause tears and a swollen face for at least 1-2 days. However, the painfulness of the extractions is the worst the first time you go and get less painful with more sessions. That being said, KK and CC make sure to get every last bit of dirt and clogged pores completely clean and even show you an unsightly tissue of all the extractions afterwards. Expect your face to scab a bit in the following day and be sore a tad, but don't worry because by the end of the week the scabs fall off and your face will be glowing! read more

I got the acne facial as I know I have deep nodule type white heads on my chin that only a professional could get out safely. We started on time and it was quiet and relaxing (before & after the extractions). If you have deep nodule type acne (inflamed or not) in my case not inflamed but living rent free on my chin for years, then KK is your gal to give them the boot. Your face will look crazy after. I stayed in on day 1 and didn't wear makeup until day 3 to allow everything time to dry up and heal. So heads up on booking your appointment around important events. I was referred by a friend and KK sure did deliver! The salon is no-frills and unassuming, but you can tell this is high quality. I picked Beauty Legend because I needed a ton of extractions. I had gotten a lot of comedonal acne due to hormone changes and while the inflammed pimples had gone away, there was a lot of gunk under the skin. KK spent 2+ hours on the facial, at least an hour 1.5 hours were just extractions. She cleansed, exfoliated, extracted, and applied 2 different masks with an LED light. The reviews are right, these extractions are not for the faint of hearted. They were bearable though (didn't cry at all!) and extremely thorough. KK showed me what she extracted after and it was 4 toilet paper sheets worth of gunk....which was awesome. My face was a little swollen for 1.5-2 days and I had a bunch of spots that scabbed over. I looked crazy so don't get this facial done if you have important places to go that week. The scabs came off gradually over a few days and my skin looked GLOWING, despite the hyperpigmentation I had already had from previous breakouts. No purging, no nothing. I have to start with the fact that everyone's skin is different and will react differently to the same treatment. I recommend the extractions for people who have acne. Maybe it won't work for you, but you don't know till you try. The extractions certainly worked for me. I have struggled with acne since puberty and not much has helped with my situation. I had especially bad temporal and cheek break-outs. The extraction unclogged my pores and to my surprise, I have not had a break out since. Sure I get the occasional one or two from too much spicy food or lack of sleep, but overall, my skin is clear. BUT! You must understand what you will experience if you do go through with extractions. Yes, they are painful, very painful. If you don't want to go through the pain for clearing skin, then this is probably not your cup of tea. In addition, your face will look like a chimpanzee's bottom 2-3 days after. And it makes sense, inflammation, reddening, and swelling will most likely occur. Although rarely there is a case where the inflammation causes more harm. Like I said, our skins all react differently. The majority of people will not have a problem healing. I wanted to start the new decade off right for me and my boo so I sought a deep cleanse facial with extractions service that had an excellent reputation. Beauty Legend is an unassuming spot nestled in Oakland Chinatown and the ladies were clearly experts in what they did. Unfortunately I didn't ask for names before we disrobed and assumed our positions, but we were able to get our facials done in adjacent beds at the same time which was very cool and nice of them to arrange. I won't go into too many details on the whole procedure, but it's definitely worth the money. For $100 each we did the whitening facial as that was the most basic facial they offered with extractions, and it was continuous rounds of masques, serums, massages, and cleanings that left my face feeling super renewed. Two things of note I especially enjoyed was the facial massage techniques - the lady working on me was firmly stroking my cheek with the left hand while rubbing around my eye with the other hand - which requires some good ambidexterity! - and the warm smooth wand they used to massage the whitening cream into my face. They used high quality, great smelling ingredients, and used perfect pressure. We did this on a Saturday morning and it was an excellent start to the weekend for us. KK is absolutely spectacular. I can not recommend this place highly enough. I've just had my 6th facial and let me tell you my skin looks spectacular. Some things to know about this place. 1. KK is wonderful. She is always available by text for last minute appointment changes. She is super responsive and will normally get back to you within the hour. 2. I have sensitive skin that's prone to break outs. KK takes great care of it. All my friends and family have been commenting on how clear my skin has gotten. I use the T&J acne creme as part of my skin care routine (which is all Kiehl's products, definitely important to have a good daily skin scare process or else you won't see results.) 3. The extractions do hurt. But it gets MUCH easier, and you'll have less to extract. 4. Go monthly in order to see best results, the facial package might seem a little steep but it's soooo worth it. You'll also notice that your skin gets softer and stays more even if you go every 4-6 weeks. 5. OH MY GOD!!!! This place.... save my life!!! I used to have my acne treatment at the other acne clinic in San Leandro and it took me years but acne problem wasn't solve at all. It was very frustrated.... until my friend referred me to this place. KK (Katie) is the manager of this store and Lina is the owner. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, within TWO TREATMENT my face is so much clear now. The spot where the acne grew, after the treatment, there is NONE, ZERO scars left. KK is very responsible that she would text you the day before my appointment, and... they are willing to give me their cell phone number in case I have problem with my acne I can contact them anytime. The price::: first when I saw the quote of the price, it was $1280 for 10 treatments. KK explain that because of the acne problem occur on my face, I would need to use some special treatment machine to clear my acne first, then I would move to the next treatment machine to remove the scars that was left from the treatment was done at my old clinic. So, I had done two treatment so far, and each time, Lina took all her time to take care of each acne on my face. Each treatment take up to 4 hours, soooo it is worth!!! The Product::: Amazing!!! I used to spent hundred on the facial product but those lead my face to the worst situation.
