I bought a coupon for 3 hydrating facials at Claremont Skin Care. To be honest, I would probably not have come back if I had purchased only one facial. During the first appointment, Fonnie came across as a bit rude with her very intrusive questions about my lifestyle and lectures about how to do it "right" - by now, I think it is just her "Chinese charm" (which is not too far from my own "German charm", but I guess I have been spoiled by too many years in the US). So, I saw her three times and must say, I am pretty happy with the results. My skin is quite good for my age anyway, so there were no major issues there. But every time I leave Fonnie, I feel refreshed and relaxed and my face feels soft and plump like a baby's behind ;-) The only problem I had was that my eyes were a bit irritated after each facial. My new facial spot! I'm so glad I came across Fonnie's Groupon and discovered this gem. I have been dealing with some adult acne, usually due to hormones, they always pop up in the same spot. Fonnie explained to me why that happens and how we can get get rid of it completely. Some negative reviews say that Fonnie asked personal questions, etc., you have to understand that this is not a typical spa, it's more of a dermatology office. As an African-American woman who previously suffered from acne, my primary concern was reducing hyperpigmentation. I bought a groupon and got my facial last week on Friday. It was amazing. My skin was glowing and I felt great , but this is not the reason I gave 5 stars, HERE IS WHY: I bought 2 products, one was eye serum and the other Vitamin C cream. I started using them right away and few days later I got an allergic reaction . My skin start producing Acne which I never had in my life not even as a teenager. So I understood it was a result of the Vitamin C product because eye serum I used before. I stopped using it and called her and told her what happened. She told me to come by and she will give me my money back. I went there today and she actually did another mini facial specifically to treat the problem areas. Of course she suggested to give me my money back but I chose to get a credit for next time. I am very happy with the way she handled the situation and will keep coming back. read more

But Claremont Skin Care *is the* kind of place I can trust for facials. I've got a facial done here during mid April 2015. I like and been using Jean D'Arcel products at home for 3 years, which even they use for facials. They are mild, smell great and do super good to my skin. The place is spotless and smells good too. Much cleaner than many other beauty salons I've been to. Fonnie was super friendly and knowledgeable. She took extra care to make sure my super sensitive skin doesn't get hurt. In the middle of my facial session, the toner she used made my face turn extremely warm (freaked me out too! ) and Fonnie took good care, making sure I feel normal before applying the hydrating pack. Very caring and good customer service. Hot stone - neck, shoulder & brief head massages were extremely relaxing! She gave good suggestions/tips on how to care my skin - keep it hydrated, so it would look better, while I age. Those were good suggestions. The salon location is great. I like Claremont area that has good restaurants and Bars within 4 block radius. Paid parking is easy around the block with 2 hour limit, with possible free neighborhood parking too. Groupon review! Fonnie is absolutely amazing! I bought 3 hydrating facials on Groupon and I'm so happy I did. One, it was a great deal. Two, they're amazing! During my first treatment, Fonnie and I began by discussing my facial hygiene at home (how often do I wash my face, what products I use, if I use moisturizer, etc.) while she very thoroughly examined my face. Afterwards she gave me advice/info. and basically determined how the first appointment would go. She said she wouldn't exfoliate (or maybe it was extract) any (pimples/blackheads) until after my first facial because my skin was dry. I couldn't agree more! It was the most relaxing hour of my life! Fonnie is so thorough and takes time and uses all these great products that smell wonderful! She even massages and uses hot stones. I love it! At the end of my first appt. she gave me a gift card for $10 towards any service/product as a Christmas gift which she was doing for all of her clients. At my second appt. she finally exfoliated, it was slightly painful, but my nose is full of blackheads and it looked wonderful after a few days! I also used my gift card to buy a moisturizer from her. I LOVE it! Although it is cheaper to buy it on Amazon I found out lol and they have it at Marshalls too which is great. It has helped my skin so much! Today was my last session for the Groupon and after a drunk night out with some girlfriends for my birthday this was the best hangover cure for relaxation!! I also found out that you can get a membership for cheaper prices on her other treatments. It's $200 a year which is very reasonable. Wow, the place there has a great feeling when you walk inside the entrance, it had a relaxing feel with nice, non-stressful music playing in the background. They kindly greeted me, and got me set up for a session. Fonnie, quickly got a room for me, she had me lie down on the bed, which comfortable, lush and clean. As I lay down and close my eyes, I felt like I was in paradise. When Fonnie started to massage my face, I already knew she was a professional beautician. Her movements were perfect, the pressure she applied was just perfect. She had really soft and smooth palms, which were just right for these kind of things. I wasn't much of a believer in facials, until I came here. She worked magic on my face! Not only did she clear up the small amount of acne I had, but her facial made my pores look much smaller, reduced my wrinkles (especially a deep wrinkle I have down my forehead) and most importantly- reduced the swelling in my face. For the first time in months, I could see my cheek bones again! My face still looks slimmer and I noticed the difference in pictures.
