Booking is a challenge right now because Julie is in transition between setting up the new location. I was glad I insisted on booking her, and that she reached out through Yelp. Julie does so many things - hands, nails, lashes, so many different types of massages, etc. If I lived in Maui, she would easily be my one-stop shop for everything. Massage - Hands down, probably the best massage I've ever had. She targeted my shoulder and neck area because they were my most knot-filled areas and it was amazing. Her massage and pressure points felt like they had purpose instead of me being randomly punched. I had to force myself to keep my eyes open so I wouldn't fall asleep and not be awake to enjoy the benefits. She also gave really great advice and educated me about certain pressure points to take with me to future massages. Lashes - Refills looked even better than what I remembered having. Overall - I feel like Julie got the short end of the stick. The $170 price for the best 90-minute massage and lash refill for the quality I received in return was phenomenal and I can't wait to go back to her for all of my beauty needs when I'm in Maui. I give a five star review to the owner of the salon who did my manicure pedicure. She was friendly, very professional, and did an exceptional job. I mean it when I see that she gave me one of the best mani pedis I've ever received. My husband and I booked a couples massage before my nail appointment. My masseuse, I forget her name, she was a sweet girl from Texas, she did a good job. My husband's massage therapist did not do a good job. In fact, when we arrived for our massage appointment, my husband's masseuse had a pissy/grumpy look on her face. Frankly, it was quite awkward for my husband because she acted like she did not want to be there. I even noticed the pissy look on this masseuse's face. It sucks because we are hoping to have a pleasant and relaxing massage since we were getting married later that day. This post is in addition to what we wrote previously regarding appointment issues with this salon. We were made aware of computer problems and understand as to how to prevent these issues from occurring in the future. As an aside, Julie gives an incredible massage. Update: 1 star for the lame response and no apology for being unprofessional and not training staff to cut cuticles properly. It's not my JOB to do nails, it's yours- I shouldn't have to tell you you did a crappy job. If your employee doesn't know what she's doing because her boss likes to take 2 hour lunches and brag about how awesome her life is to patrons, then you need to step up your game instead of charging more because your rent is too high because you kinda suck. Original Review: $30 bucks will get you: 1. Removal of polish. 2. Cuticle push back and some removal. 3. Polish application. 4. The owner telling you "You can only get the $5 off deal from Yelp if you give us a good review." What $30 will not get you, but if you give this lady $20 more it will: 1. Scrub of your callouses. 2. Use of their "house made" sea salts on your feet. 3. Complete cuticle removal. 4. Piece of mind that your feet aren't gonna look ragged in a week. My girl that worked on me was an apprentice as well. She was sweet, but she definitely forgot to put cuticle remover on, and she only pushed back the cuticles in the nail bed and removed some of that skin. There was skin on the edges around my toes that was still there when I got home and washed my feet. Not a 5 star joint. It's cozy, but overpriced for what you get: Cuticle pushback, polish removal and application, and the owner and her massage therapist bragging about how they got naked and jumped in the water on their 2 hour lunch in Paia. Good for you love, but not really what I want to know about. If you're cool with all this, go here. Regardless of their lack of professionalism, they seemed like cool peeps I'd probably go kick it with on a Saturday night, but not the people I'd want to get my nails done from again. If you are from a magical place where 30 dollars gets you the same amenities but it's for a mani/pedi with cuticle removal, soak, foot scrub, and no time limit? This is not worth your time. I was there on vacation as many ppl are so It took me longer than I thought to drive there from wailea and I called to let them know I was running late . They said. No problem . I felt like I was rushed in and out . Didnt feel pampered at all. If she had someone after me , I couldve easily come back . I own a hair salon so I know as all about appts. If my client calls to say theyre running late , either I'll tell them no prob or I'll let them know I have someone in 15 min so I can't do them when they get there but I can do them another time . I feel like services like these in Hawaii recognize that their clients are on vacation there and sometimes they don't know their way around . There were so many spas to choose from including the one at our hotel but I couldn't see spending a whole lot of money . Now I wish I would have . I left feeling like she was in a rush / that they didn't appreciate my business and I had white clay all over my face . I didn't notice till I looked in my rear view mirror . My friend and I decided to get pedicures. I called ahead and made an appointment. I got the deluxe pedicure with gel polish and my friend a mini pedicure with gel. The young women who did my toes couldn't explain to me what was in the products used during the service and literally said, "I dunno what all is in it" then giggled. This included the mask and moisturizer. The towels she used to wrap my legs while the mask sat we're lukewarm almost cold. She didn't massage my legs or feet just rubbed lotion into my calves. Honestly it seemed she rather be doing something else. The ONLY good part was the callus removal. My feet were baby soft. The women who did my friends toes complained about her sick child for the majority of the appointment and told us and soon as she's done she planned in leaving. By Friday (appointment was in a Wednesday) my friends polish completely came off on 1 toe and by Sunday she lost another 2. GEL POLISH FOLKS! Clearly is wasn't applied correctly. They peeled off in a whole piece. Towards the end of my appointment the owner showed up and took a walk in pedicure. The pedicure she was giving that walk-in seemed a whole lot more relaxing and she was telling her all about the products that were made in house. I believe I saw some massage action going on. Would I recommend this place? Maybe, but only if the owner does your service. I won't be back. read more

We had to postpone our appointment and they made us feel totally at ease and when we arrived they were all smiles. We brought our daughters in who are 9 and 11 and they treated them like princesses. They had lots of nail colors to choose from and Julie did the best callous removal for my "flip-flop" feet that I've ever had. She must have removed a 1/2 pound of dead cracking foot crap. We returned the next day for a couples massage and Julie paired me up with someone to realign my sore muscles. I had just had surgery and my muscles were out of place with sleeping wrong. I implore you if you need a deep massage to ask for Jesse I've had massages, but never one in which someone knew the muscular-skeletal inter workings as well as he did. I made an appointment to pamper myself on vacation with an hour long facial, eyebrow tinting, and a set of eyelash extensions. They already had great reviews so I was excited to try them out but I was even more pleasantly surprised when I found out they used doTERRA essential oils in their treatments! The spa is the old location of a very popular nail salon that I frequented. The remodel is just amazing. The ambiance is peaceful with good energy and they did a wonderful job with decor. My wife and I came here for facials while on our honeymoon. I'd never had one before, but since my wife was a trooper and joined me on the golf course a couple days before I thought...why not? I was leaving to head to Vegas in less than a week and needed to get my lashes (eyelash extensions) done as soon as I could. I looked around and everyone was too expensive and had no availability's, or times that would not fit in my schedule. I called in beauty spa Maui to see if they had any openings and they fit me right in their schedule. Classic eyelash extensions are $130, with an additional 10% for kama'aina. I walked in for my appointment with Julie and she was the sweetest. I've had eyelash extensions done by another lady in the past, but she was nothing like Julie. I stumbled upon this little piece of heaven as I was leaving the Powerhouse Gym and I am SO happy that I did. The entire staff were absolutely amazing and were so friendly. If you are visiting the island, this is the place for a fantastic massage and pedicure. I had the most relaxing 2 hours with Julie (massage) & Sarah (pedicure). The interior is so cute, the employees are friendly, and the services are what they should be. They use OPI polishes, essential oils for the massage and the warm wrap for your neck while getting the pedicure. The massage room is clean and Julie is concerned about your comfort while getting the massage, from pressure to temperature. They do offer other services that I imagine would make anyone feel like a queen or king for a day. read more

I just left 15 minutes into what was supposed to be a relaxing deep tissue couples massage. An absolutely awful experience. First of all, when you walk into this place, it's a MESS. It's overwhelming. There is just stuff everywhere! Nowhere for guests to sit and wait for their service. Which makes for an uncomfortable impression right off the bat. Then one of our massage therapists was late to the appointment. We had called and asked to get a 3pm massage and were told they only had 2:30pm available, so we rushed in and then ended up waiting an extra 15-20 minutes on the table for this person to arrive to their appointment. Keep in mind, you can hear the toilets flushing for the public bathrooms through the walls in this service room for the MALL; it was frequent and loud and not exactly what you imagine relaxing in a day spa would be...Then my therapist storms in and immediately puts the sheet over my body and just begins rushing into this service before the other massage therapist is ready to begin on my significant other. So, what's supposed to be a relaxing transition into this massage is now muffled by them chatting about how he wants his massage and my therapist rushing through the first phase of this service... My therapist should have been asking which parts of my body were bothering me during this introduction and should have eased me into relaxation in a calm manner. This lady had so much tension in her body and was very high strung, that it felt like she was transferring her negative energy into my massage. There was ZERO flow. It was all over the place. Lackluster performance would be putting this experience lightly. I felt SO uncomfortable. So after she asked me how her pressure was the first go around, I politely told her she could go deeper into my muscles. About five minutes into this lady's service with weird placement of her elbows and forearms, I had enough, I wasn't going to spend over $100 on this massage and sit there through this for an hour. So I told her, I felt uncomfortable and I wanted her to stop the service. Instead of being an understanding professional, she stomped her feet, threw her hands up rudely and said to the other therapist and I quote, "she feels uncomfortable, I don't know what to do, this girl came in irritated to her service to begin with." And stormed out to go talk badly about me to the other workers out front. Keep in mind, those walls are paper thin. I could hear their entire conversation. So after quietly dressing myself, I walked to the front and much to my surprise all three employees; one of which is the OWNER were standing/sitting there with their arms crossed STARING at me, waiting for some sort of explanation as to WHY I felt the need to stop this service. I felt attacked by them surrounding me and being completely rude to me while I was trying to explain to them why I felt so uncomfortable... Then After the rude comments and rude tone in their interrogation, as I was walking out the door the owner yells across the room, "It's all about communication girl!!" In a catty tone. Offering zero apologies for this experience on their part. What a nightmare this place is.. do yourself a favor & DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Those people are nut jobs. I LOVE the Aqua room and almost always make some extra time for myself to enjoy this feature. I get my eyelashes done by Julie. She is AMAZING. I recently had them done at a nearby salon because Julie was booked and had a TERRIBLE experience. It made me appreciate Beauty Spa Maui even more! I've also had Bruce do my hair. I frequented Beauty Spa Maui several times while living on the island, mostly for waxing and pedicures. They offer a wide range of other services, and unfortunately we didn't live on island long enough for me to experience it all. I was always beyond pleased with the service I received. The (female) owner, is a serious BOSS and I have so much respect for her! She took a tiny nail salon and turned it into a fabulous spa that can rival even the biggest resorts on the island. She's very hands-on, and performs a lot of the services herself. I really appreciated that have a natural approach to their products, and you'll see them using essential oils and other gentle/safe products on your skin. It's my understand that she even makes a lot of her own products. I asked for a recommendation on where I could get a good body scrub and instead of starting to sell me some expensive concoction, she gave me ideas for a DIY scrub I could make at home. Awesome!
