Since my first review I had been going to the Maui Nail Bar exclusively. I see Cindy the manager and top manicurist. She does excellent work and is always fair. All of her other manicurist do excellent pedicures. Unfortunately I had to move from Maui just over a year ago and now I go to Jule at Spa Gregory in Newport Beach, CA. Excellent service and she uses the very best product out there imo - BIO SCULPTURE. You must try this service and product. read more

I have perfect nails! PERFECT NAILS! Not cheap, but well worth it! I also loved the method used for removing callouses on feet. They followed the absolute contour of my feet, somehow removing an even layer of dead skin so I had no hot spots, or thin spots, or future heel cracks! It's been weeks and my feet still feel great! Only giving this place 2 stars because Cindy was so sweet to fix my top coat for me and I like the color of my nails. I flew from Kauai to visit my mom for my birthday. We decided to get our nails done. We called ahead and was allowed to come within 20 minutes. My moms nail technician was Cindy. I don't know my nail technicians name, unfortunately. I asked for a full set gel powder. Which is acrylics and a gel color/top coat for those wondering. At first my lady was nice, she applied tips like I asked and cut them short. I am a nurse and cannot have long nails. I also asked for them to be thin but she left them thick. I have a couple nails that are longer than others and asked for her to file them shorter, she did not. After she put the acrylic powder and filed them down, I noted some corners were still lifted and not smoothed down, I asked her to fix those as well, she did not. She put the gel polish on and asked me if I still liked the color, which I did. After she put the top coat on, she filed the sides immediately which caused some of the powder to stick onto my nails. I asked her if she could put another top coat on my right hand because my entire right hand was not smooth like the left. She felt them and said nothing was wrong and walked away. My mom & I paid and walked out. I was very upset. My moms nails turned out good, thin, straight, even, short. I could have done a better job with my nails - which I am very capable of doing being my grandma taught me as she was a nail technician herself. I went back in and asked my moms nail technician, Cindy if she could put another top coat on my right hand. She was very nice and did as I asked. She felty nails on my left hand and noticed another finger that was not smooth. I was very unhappy with the service I received from my nail technician. The only thing that was right was the color. She disregarded everything else I had asked for. My nails are long, not the same length, not even, jagged, and very very thick. I honestly am looking forward to them growing out in a week so I can file them and fix them myself. I WILL be back to Maui since my parents live here, but IF I come back to this nail salon, I will only see Cindy. But honestly, idk if I will be coming back here. Overall the salon was dirty. My mom asked for a color change on her toes and her feet were placed on a towel on top of a trash can... her nails turned out good though lol. read more

My wife is a licensed cosmetologist and we went in to get mani pedis. Beware of this place for sanitation issues. They were going from client to client and not cleaning up properly. They were also very slow and we ended up leaving in the middle of the service. She noticed they were clean tools on top of dirty towels from previous clients with nail clippings etc laying there. She was patient and she's super talented :) I was really happy with the whole experience! Highly recommend. This place is kind of a hole in the wall but the deluxe pedicure is amazing!!! Its $45 but you get a masque and hot towel on your legs and they do a really really good job getting all the dead skin / scrubbing away everything. She took her time with the painting of the nail and massaging too. Much better than the normal pedicures i get back home, if youre in town & need a pedi id def come here and ask for cindy! read more

This review has nothing to do with the person who does my nails. Thai is awesome! My complaints are with the salon itself. I walked in to see if Thai was in. I was told "No call back in 1 hour" But Thai was in the back room!!!! I have no idea why I was lied to like that! Absolutely unacceptable bad business behavior!! Next: The nail chairs are gross and uncomfortable. They have the massage function that feels like 2 rocks jabbing in your back. The chairs are old and need total replacement. BUT.... the real horror are the conditions of the chairs. Ewwwwww. See pics. With all the nicer nail places around I just can't do this place anymore. Run! read more

This place was absolutely terrible, the service was horrible and the staff there were very rude when me and my little sister were getting our nails done. They were jerking my hands everywhere and telling me not to look at my nails while they were getting done. All I wanted was black acrylics and yet they wouldn't even let me wait to let them dry, they just told me to leave that I was not allowed to stay and I ended up with my nails smudging. My little sisters nails were done terribly with nail polish all over her finger which they didn't even bother cleaning up. Overall never done here it's terrible. read more

The girls here do a great job on your nails, they really do, but the way they treat their loyal customers is a joke. I made an appointment to get my nails and toes done 2 weeks and they gave 2 walk ins the chairs for pedicures. Okay, annoyed but supposed to get my toes done after. 2 more walk ins arrive and they are seated and taken care of. My turn! I sit, now they don't have time for the pedicure I wanted? Yet help another walk in at the same time, who they have the time for the same pedicure? What a joke! I come in every 2 weeks and every time they give my appointments away, today I was there and went to the bathroom!! Came back and they had seated 2 instead of taking care of the appointment I made 2 weeks ago. This review is solely based on how they completely disregard good paying customers. I pull up the menu online and they argue with me that that's the wrong price. I confirmed on the phone a set price but they did not honor it. It's true that if you're not a local they try to rip you off. Beyond livid I left the store storming. I don't recommend giving business to crooks who are con artists. read more

Request Thai when you decide to go!! SHE IS AMAZING! I have been going to her for a long time - she does my mani & pedi with shellac and her work is phenomenal. She is so sweet and she truly cares about her work and the final product. She is so attentive to detail and makes sure it looks perfect. Some of the best customer service I have ever received on this island is from Thai. I cannot sing her praises enough! Ask for her every time! :) I do have to say how disappointing it is to see the awful owner that this nail salon has. She is a miserable, rude woman, and it's unfortunate. I've had some contact with her and I cannot believe how unpleasant she is to paying customers, myself included, and her staff. The ONLY crappy part about this place is the owner. I came here to have my nails filled before I left the island, and I was not disappointed. After my great pedicure here 10 days prior, I didn't even bother looking anywhere else to get my fill. I was treated with so much respect, and my nail tech, Lily, was so gentle and detail oriented. All of the women and men working at the Nail Bar were accommodating and I never felt unwelcome. By 9:30 every pedicure chair was filled - I recommend making an appt. Overall my pedicure was fantastic and they have a pricing sheet that you pick what you want so there is no confusion. I did overhear the woman next to me getting a gel mani & it add $25 for gel...pricey! I did get flowers on my toes & these are the best flowers I've ever had! Went in for a dip manicure, I've been getting these manis for years and with dip polish removal this manicure should take no more than an hour. Was in Maui Nail bar for over 2 hrs. I even called ahead to ask when to come in thinking they would tell me an accurate time based on availability. In my 2 hrs wasted at a nail salon I did see pedicures and basic manicures happen that looked great but I do not recommend a dip manicure here. They didn't even grind down my cuticles which affects the dip polish from attaching to the nail bed and lasting as long as it should and my nails look so sloppy I need to get another manicure from my usual lady when I get back home. I get the feel that the owner(she felt like the owner at least) knew what she was doing maybe but she only got me through filing my nails before she realized she forgot she had another appt and then the other girl that actually did the dip was awful. the dip is uneven, she even filed the color off on part of one of my nails, and I even have nail polish under my nail somehow. Also I should mention their dip top coat refused to dry after 20 mins (usually the dip top coat dries in under 5min which is why I love dip manicures) and so then she had to file the top coat off and do a gel top coat set by UV light - of which has already chipped less than 24 hrs later. Don't recommend unless you want to waste your vaca in a nail salon and just get a basic mani. read more

I am a local Maui resident, and I'v come here often. This is the second time I've had bad treatment. Today I had to wait 30 minutes while new people walked in and got waited on right away. seems if you're on vacation and have two or three people at one time they cater to you. I got up after 30 minutes and left and told the owner that I'm not coming back. The previous time I came I paid for a deluxe pedicure and one of the services I didn't get and I questioned the gal but she didn't seem to understand or speak English so she didn't respond. I thought maybe this was a fluke so I tried again today and that's when I had to wait 30 minutes. Will not be going back. read more
