I made a last-minute appointment due to my busy work schedule, and several other places weren't able to help me the same day. Even though they were very busy, Plush Derma truly went above and beyond. From the very first phone call, Karina, the receptionist, was incredibly kind, patient, and professional. She answered all of my questions without rushing me and explained everything so clearly over the phone. Even though they didn't have a room available at that moment, she still took the time to accommodate me by scheduling me at a different location within the same Plush Derma clinic network. They have multiple locations, which makes it very convenient, and the process was seamless thanks to her help. The clinic itself is super clean, modern, and very welcoming. You feel comfortable and well taken care of from the moment you walk in. The entire team is professional, attentive, and truly makes you feel valued as a client--even from the first call. I drove 2 hrs to get to my appt and when I arrived 30 mins early I was sitting in my car and saw another lady get out of an Uber and go to the door. This business is ran out of her home, so you're not going to a spa or anything like that. Which I did not know until I arrived. My first thought was this can't be a client because my appointment is in 30 mins. I waited until about 15 mins till and walked up to the door. I could hear there entire conversation from outside as windows were open. I said hello, and Tracy comes out the door saying hi, I told her who I was and she says to me; so how are we on time? I said well I just drove 2 hrs for my appt that is supposed to start at 1pm. She says the client that was inside arrived late (not my problem) and she can try to get her done by 130pm. So basically you're telling me my appointment is pushed back and now I have to wait!? If anything the late client should have been canceled or moved to another time regardless of the situation. Side note: I was expecting to see a professional dressed like a professional instead she was in a skort and tank top as if she just worked out that day. I was a bit taken back because of how she moves on Instagram. She then asks me to sit out in her front yard under some trees while I wait. Like it's hot outside and bugs are flying around. I. Addition to this a big black crow flew over to the water fountain she has in her yard that completely made me think this is an omen and I should just leave. However, i drove so far and still wanted my facial. So I got into my car and wait however I needed to use the restroom and I couldn't because of this late client. I ended up leaving to go to Starbucks to use the restroom. When I returned I just sat in my car with air waiting for her to call. She finally called at 130 to tell me the lady was getting dressed. I went up to the door and she was having the other client walk out with a mask on her face, I could see it!!! Wow! She then said to me oh she came all the way from Virginia; like that was supposed to make me feel better about waiting girl I don't give a hell where she came from my appointment is at 1 not 130pm! So I go in and change in the restroom and I could hear them continue with their conversation. Once I came out she told her bye and had her wait on the porch for her ride. I then proceeded to get on the table. This was one of the most expensive facials I have had $400 for a 60 minute and I will say was the worst experience I've had thus far. Her conversation with me was a bit condescending and once she found out I was an esthetician as well the mood changed and her toned did as well. The fact that she didn't know what a green light treats on the skin was interesting to me. She began to say "how does it work"! Girl you need to look that up. She then began to ask me if I was familiar with chemical peels and I said yes of course, she then began to questioning me about what was the smallest molecule that should be used first, at that point I was done. She just had a way of making you feel belittled and less than, Some people need to really humble themselves. In addition to this, the first three things she used she went over my eye-lids. I had a rash on my left eye lid for two days after. She did a very short facial massage and like 4 extractions lol! After that she put a mask on and put me under the light for about 15 mins and then came back to do another masks for another 15 mins. She left the room both times for the entire time and was on her phone. The entire time I was there while in service her phone was ringing off the hook, every 10 mins or so it was chiming. Very unprofessional as I am paying for 60mins of your time to service me. Not sure if she was sanitizing her hands after touching her phone. That in itself is a problem. She made me feel like she didn't want to do my facial. I just remained professional and dealt with it as I will take this back to my students to share. She did not use not one steamed towel for my facial, not one!!That's a problem! She used these sponges to aggressively wipe my face. It was all bad for me! I was laying there just with anxiety on 10 with the whole thing. Most of my facial was under a mask and a light. $400! Everything you see online is not always the case. My time was wasted, my time was taken advantage of and was not respected. And my face did not have any change in it, bummer!! I read some of her reviews after the fact and see how some of these clients were treated. I was one of the ones who could relate to the poor service. I'm sure with her celebrity clients she dresses like a professional,acts like one and treats them with vip service. Would she have then push their time back, I seriously doubt it! The Good: To start there is no business signage on the front or any type of indication that this is " Uncovered LA" literally just an all black storefront, with blacked out windows and a black iron gate door. Once you walk in though, it is very nice and looks neat and clean. Max who usually does my waxing, is pleasant. She does small talk to catch up and tries give breaks to relieve you through the waxing process which can be painful. The bad: she doesn't use any type of protective barriers on the waxing table which i find very unhygienic. I remember she stopped investing in the paper roll that you use to cover the table similar to what they use in a doctor's office before you sit on the examination table. She started reusing towels instead which i still think is pretty unsanitary. She also use reuses wash cloths to wipe your sensitive areas down and that just freaks me out every time. I've never had someone reuse wash cloths always a fresh warmed wipe. I even thought about bringing my own supplies like I do at the nails salon to not get a fungal infection, but I shouldn't have to do all that. The Ugly: my last visit I unfortunately received a bad bacterial infection after getting a wax from Max. I remember her looking for a towel to put down on the table and couldn't find one and i was in a super rush to catch a flight later that day so i just had her wipe down the black waxing table with a sanitizer wipe and i got it done. She used this same white wash cloths as per usual to wipe me down afterwards. Later that day I started to feel uncomfortable "down there" and had discharge that hasn't stoped since I go back from my trip. When I got checked, I was told it was a bacterial infection and I wont go into to much details, but I find myself having to wear a pantie liner EVERYDAY which is something I've NEVER had to worry about before. I waited a long time to post this review because I didn't want to negatively impact her business, but this experience has really changed my life and the money that I have to constantly spend on liners was definitely not worth a $60 Brazilian wax. Needless to say, I was naïve and really should have voice my concerns, but what an expensive lesson to lean. Ladies please take care of your health and always speak up if something doesn't feel right to you especially when paying for a service.
