When I went in for permanent eyebrows Shauna seemed short tempered to me. I've never had a tattoo so I'm not familiar with the process, which she did not explain to me at all. I had done my research online about permanent eyebrows and decided on Shauna after all the positive reviews. It bothered me are that she did not explain to me that 2 sessions are needed to test how the color you choose will look on your skin once the tattoo heals and the scabs fall off (BTW the pictures she posts on her website are taken right after she's done with the tattoo, the color and shape changes a lot after it's healed and scabs fall off). After showing her a picture of what I wanted my eyebrows to look like she dismissed it and drew something completely different on my face simply because she doesn't like the actress in the picture I showed her. This made it harder to achieve the look I wanted and after the first session my brows didn't look like what we had agreed on. I ended up with big gaps between strokes and had to continue filling in my eyebrows with a pencil because the color was too light. On the second session I explained to her what I did not like about the eyebrows and after going back and forth I finally ended up with the color I wanted and the shape I wanted. I was expecting that after the first session and seeing how the color reacted on my skin she would know what color to use to achieve what I had asked her for, but she didn't. I had to choose the color for myself. During this second session she was very short with me, didn't apply enough freezing so I had to endure the pain, to which she said "sorry, you just have to suck it up". Yes, she is very clean and has many certifications, there's no question about that, but after my experience with her I will keep looking for other alternatives when the time comes to redo my brows. It's also $300 every time you need a touch up. I have a friend that goes to an Asian salon that charges a fraction of that and her eyebrows look very good too - but they don't speak English there, that's why I went with Shauna. read more

The best place out there for semi permanent make up. Shauna is absolutely the best! She not only listens to what you're looking for and enhances them with her own professional opinion but never enforces them on your own preferences. She's honest but clearly knows her area of expertise - to which I totally respect her for that. After reviewing her work, I was confident that leaving it in her capable hands, I will be leaving with the brows I've always wanted. Prior to seeing Shauna, I did have my brows done a few years back which left me with some discolouration due to the colour fading over time, so I needed to go back a few times to correct this. Both times Shauna took her time, care and attention to giving me the perfect brows (that don't just vanish in hot weather or after the gym!). The process was literally painless, since she numbs the area before doing anything with the needle. Also beyond my expectations, Shauna gave me a follow up call a week after each session to ensure the healing process has gone smoothly! I mean who does that? My dentist surely doesn't....neither have any of my previous tattoo artists. To my utmost surprise....this was by far the most superior service I've ever received! It's clear that Shauna not only cares about her work but about her clients - ensuring that they are satisfied with her work. I've had so many compliments on my brows since then and no one believes they've been inked. They are so natural - I absolutely love them (unlike those deep and dark straight lines from other places). The price may be a little higher than most, but it's a tattoo - and the quality of work and her attentiveness to her clients is surely worth the price. I've seen some pretty poorly done permanent makeup procedures (I was one a few years ago!) and saving some money, just isn't worth messing up your face. Hands down! I have been getting eyelash extensions for over 2 years and she has never disappointed :) My lashes are always gorgeous and long, they look natural but much better then anything I can grow myself. I began to do research on professionals who did microblading. Beauty Ink came up in my search and I liked what I saw and the feedback received. I was being cautious because the procedure is somewhat permanent and I have seen bad jobs that women have had to live with. After being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time I became more determined. Then after completing a regiment of chemotherapy, my eyelashes have not fully returned. Thus, I always looked pale and sickly. So I began to contemplate 'eyeliner' instead of microblading (I had already had this procedure done 3 years prior). I was hesitant because the procedure was so close to my eyes AND I live 1500km from Beauty Ink. I decided to take the plunge and called Shauna. She was able to ease my anxiety about the procedure and so I booked an appointment with her. Shauna then blows my mind and swells my heart when she tells me that because I was a cancer patient - the procedure would be a gift to me! I arrived into Vancouver after travelling for 18 hours. Upon entering the location I felt at ease. I appreciated Shauna's straightforwardness because she obviously cared about her clients and quality of her work. I LOVE my eyeliners! The place is immaculately clean and Shauna knows what she's doing... Except when it comes to dealing with people. She alternated between being nice, rude, snappish, and yelled at me once because I "closed my eyes too hard". It was like dealing with someone with split personalities. When you're in the chair and someone is tattooing your eyes, this is a very vulnerable place to be! Normally if someone spoke to me like that I'd let them know right away that is NOT ok, but I didn't want to make her mad(der?) when she's perfirmind delicate work! The experience was so bad, I'll NEVER go back here. Also, I wanted cat-eye eyeliner and she said she couldn't do it; at the time, she had a photo of it on her website. So that's false advertising as dad as I'm concerned! The liner turned out ok but it wasn't worth the experience of dealing with Shauna. read more

Note: this is not a review for the quality of work as I elected not to go with Shauna this is a review of my experience in booking an appointment. I called and left a message to schedule an appointment as I had done a lot of research on Yelp and decided that I wanted to go with Beauty Ink for eyelash enhancement due to the glowing reviews. I received a phone call back from Shauna herself who was quite short with me on the phone. She sounded rather angry and I am not entirely sure why. I had wanted to ask if the colors she used were organic but honestly I was so flustered by her negative energy on the phone that I forgot. We went through available times to book the consultation and she asked for a credit card to hold my spot, not a problem as time is money. I was debating in my head whether or not I should just schedule the procedure as I have limited free time, I knew I wanted to do it, and she is booked out, and all the appointment times she offered were in the middle of the afternoon. I just made an off hand remark that its hard to schedule as I work and her response had such an attitude, "Amber, everyone works thats why I am open till 7 and on Saturdays." . At that point in time I said no and to cancel the appointment. I just couldn't imagine having that kind of negative energy around me when I was in a vulnerable position in the chair getting permanent eyeliner. I don't mind paying a premium for high quality work especially with something that is permanent but poor customer service and an attitude, no thanks thats too much. I am sure it must be hard running your own business but if you want it to be successful don't alienate potential clients with poor customer service. If you are so stressed, and interpersonal skills aren't your thing, hire a good receptionist. As for me, I am just going to get my eyeliner done next time I am home in Los Angeles. read more

Worst customer service. I had to cancel one appointment because I have an autoimmune disorder and was bed ridden. Left her a message to re-schedule two days prior. After calling her again to re-schedule she told me that I did not cancel and said she refused to book people who don't inform her prior to their appointment.... Perhaps angry someone cancelled? Maybe money is tight or cash flow problems... Or just problems all together. Overall I found that she has a horrible personality and needs help with her customer service skills. I got my eyebrows done with permanent makeup and all I can say is that she does amazing work. I have sparse and uneven eyebrows that I had to pencil in everyday..my eyebrows would either smudge, sweat or look uneven and it never looked like I wanted it to. Shauna made sure that the look I wanted was the best for my face and shape and all I can say is that it changes the way you feel when you wake up in the morning and see yourself the way you always wanted to look. It looks natural and I don't have to worry it will smudge after a few hours. Excellent service, care and workmanship. Shauna was super professional, clean, and she doesn't tell you what you want to hear or do what you think is "right" because what works on someone else's face won't necessarily work on yours; which may rub a few people the wrong way. First of all I found shauna to be extremely rude. She didn't include me in any of the plans for my brows this should have been enough to walk away right then. But I ignored it because her high ratings.Secondly I'm not happy with my brows at ALL and since my last session 8 weeks ago have been trying to find someone who can fix them. I tried to bring up that I wasnt happy with them last session but right away she shut it down and it was my fault. Im sorry but after paying $1000 dollars when you really dont have extra money to begin with to feel this way is not acceptable. At our 8 week check up I was going to try and bring it up again that I'm not happy with them the colour is still way to light after 2 sessions. The shape is off ect. I ended up completely forgetting about my apt I figured that I would have gotten a 24h reminder call especially when your paying $$$$. I get a call from the receptionist 2 hours before I'm to be there as I'm explaining that I won't be able to make it because I have to work shauna gets on the phone is super rude and informs me that she will be charging me another fee of $100. I am a national TV talk show host and previous owner of beauty spas so I am one to pay attention to beauty, customer service as well as sanitation practices that your normal person may not know what to look for. I was recommended to Shauna from Beauty Ink and I went to her for a consultation. First thing I noticed was she had me sanitize my hands and gave me a pair of slippers to wear before entering the gallery. She did not want my shoes tracking germs near her equipment so this was already a good sign for me. I noticed multiple certifications on her wall that upon looking at them closely they were from very accredeted schools. Needless to say, she's the real deal. She took a great deal of time to give me many suggestions in my consultaion and she was not rushed at all. This woman was a wealth of knowledge. Let's just say I have booked with her. I've booked with her to do my profesional make-up for my promo photos for my media and her make-up application skills are amazing. I have also seen Shauna for two sessions thus far for cosmetic tattoo removal services. I have never seen a spa use the sanitation practices that Beauty Ink uses.. ever!! She does not cheap out. She uses disposable covers on all tables, cable cords, anthing that needs to be covered and sprayed down, she's doing it. Other salons don't do this due to the additional expenses and they think most people won't notice, but Shauna uses them. Another thing I noticed being that I have an eye for spa products is that she uses the most expensive products around. Many spas will use cheap products to have higher rofit margins but not Shauna. She cares about the end result. Truly. She is almost an OCD perfectionist, she is so meticulous to a T!! She will not let you walk out that door until her work loks perfect. She takes a lot of pride in what she does. I can see why so many celebrities go to her to get work done. She is the best around. Hands down!! Every time after my services with Shauna at Beauty Ink her after care service was just as good. She has been calling and asking how things were healing, kindly offering advice on how to help the healing process and more. As a woman who travels internationally for a living and has stayed at hotels with the best of spas and best of services, I can say without reservation that Shauna from Beauty Ink is the best hands down. I would not hessitate at any of her prices. She does a lot of people correction work and for the work she does with the talent she offers, inho I don't think she charges enough. Don't cheap out when it comes to your face and tip her well!!! She is worth it!! Thank you Beauty Ink!!! I gave a four star because her personality is unpredictable and you need to hope you get her on a good day because when she's in a good mood she can have a huge loving heart but if you get her on a bad day you will feel like you're walking on egg shells and she can be very snappy and rude making you feel demeaned and scolded. I've never gone back because the last time I went, she snapped at me and was rude so instead of posting about it I messaged her privately first, explaining how she made me feel and all she did was sent a message back stating she will reflect. No apology nothing so I've never gone back since. Shauna's work is good. she's clearly experienced in drawing out the right shape and choosing the right colors. The reason i'm giving her a very low rating is in regards to the tattoo not lasting as long as it should as well as her customer service skills. The cost to her appointments is considerably higher than most places and the tattoo looks descent for about a couple of months. then a re-touch is needed which she charges a full price for and her appts are $375+. The very first appt i had with her I bought her package deal that's $600 which offers two tattoo sessions plus the guaranteed price of $375 for future appts, instead of $400 per session. I saw the ratings and I thought to myself that it might be worth investing in. Little did i know that she will be using up the two appts for the $600 package in the first month. I needed to go back in, in a matter of two years to get them done again. She told me I might need a touch up and in the back of my receipt she had hand written that the touch up will be a separate cost AGAIN! so overall i have now paid close to $1000 and still need to fill in my eyebrows after last session having been just 3 months ago. Aside from all this Shauna does have a very abrasive attitude and is a very negative person. She certainly does not enjoy her job and I've seen her snap a few times at her receptionist right in front of me (the customer). I believe that if she does practice her customer service skills and offers a free or cheaper touch up sessions she will have many more happier customers. read more

Wow! Rude. I called Beauty Ink because I had some questions about eyebrow tattooing as it is new to me and also a little nerve-racking for obvious reasons. Shawna was kind enough to return my call from a voicemail but with an ultra snarly and condescending attitude, emphasizing the effort she had put into updating her website with information, and acting disgruntled about having to talk over the phone. The website does have information, but so much that it is difficult to sort through, and getting a tattoo on my face isn't something I, or anyone, is likely to take lightly. Also, I'm a first-timer who knows nothing about the procedure, or BeautyInk's business structure. I just wanted some questions answered about the unclear package prices, healing times so I could plan it around my vacation and the method. Each time I asked something, it was met with a rude comment about how she had already answered this online. It was awful and I hung up mid-conversation, something I would never normally even contemplate doing and I was ashamed; but I just had to get off that phone call. Some advice to management? Either get a professional to do your website to streamline the content better, or be happy to offer assistance to a simple phonecall for someone who is willing to spend $750 and offer full trust to SOMEONE TATTOOING THEIR FACE. read more

Shauna is simply the best! She took me on as a client for microblading even though I have oily skin ( most places wont do it). She has been extremely patient with me and my difficult skin and has done an incredible job with my eyebrows. I came in with almost nothing and now have gorgeous brows! Shauna is very honest about will work for your skin type, age, face shape etc, she wont b.s you, which I really respect. She has a kind heart and is a total perfectionist. She's constantly both teaching and learning more in the field too which shows her passion and extensive knowledge in this industry! I cannot stress enough that if you want to get any kind of cosmetic tattooing done that you do your research!! Only go to the best and Shauna is the best. Also know that this is a process. Your brows will go through several stages after you get them done, some of which aren't pretty. This is normal. You have to wait until they are fully healed in before you see the actual results and that takes 6 weeks. Ok, I have to be honest here. I'm one of Shauna's clients and her work is very good. That's why I go to her! HOWEVER, the last time I was with her, she was very jittery and impatient with me. Her mind seemed to be elsewhere. Partway through my procedure, I made the mistake of asking her what time it was, and after that she was extremely short with me and repeated several times that I was "rushing her," implying that if I didn't get my desired result, it would be my own fault. I in no way rushed her by simply asking for the time! Finally, I resorted to trying to calm her down, reassuring her that there was no big rush, it was just a question, and she should take her time and do whatever she needs to do to be comfortable. However, I don't feel like it should've been my responsibility as her client to calm her down, and as a result, I've been apprehensive about booking any future sessions with her. I was also really put off by how she spoke about not needing other clients if they were going to be demanding (I guess I'm not the only one who has a complaint). BeautyINK was one of the worst experiences I've had in my life. The location was quite nice, but the owner/operator was very unprofessional. I went to BeautyINK to have permanent pigmentation done on my eyebrows. The whole procedure was extremely painful and I could feel her applying an extreme amount of pressure to the needle. I have never had permanent make-up done before but I could tell something was wrong when I had blood dripping all down my face during the procedure. I had to go back three times for corrections and each time I had scabs for weeks after. Multiple people close to me commented on how bad my eyebrows looked and how long they took to heal. I decided to go to my family physician for a medical opinion and she advised that I was lucky to not have any scarring due to the amount of pressure and the heavy hand of the make-up "artist". A couple years later I've finally developed the courage to go somewhere else to have permanent pigmentation done with amazing results and minimal amount of discomfort. By the time I went to get my eyebrows redone by another company the colour had gone green. Unfortunately to have my eyebrows camouflaged and ultimately changed completely was costly but completely worth it. I have only known one other lady to go to BeautyINK with the same unfortunate outcome. This is a warning to ladies to avoid going to BeautyINK, the prices were affordable but in the end cost me a fortune to have a prominent feature on my face fixed. read more
