When we talked on the phone, I explained that my baby was a preemie with high needs that was to eat on a set schedule, and the first doula had success carrying her around in a sling as my baby needed that constant human contact. Sheryl arrived and said she would not be carrying my baby, that my baby needed to learn to sleep a certain way, so she took my baby's cradle from my bedroom (I'm a single mom in a small apartment) and put it in the living room. Well, being suddenly in a new environment and alone upset my baby so I listened to my baby crying much of the night and Sheryl walking to/from the kitchen and living room to tend to her (my bedroom is between the two). When I couldn't sleep and came into the living room, Sheryl seemed exasperated that my baby needed to be held so much. Sheryl also took liberties with my baby's feeding schedule -- set by a nutritionist because my baby was not gaining weight properly. Needless to say, my baby and I didn't get much rest and I felt bad for my baby for the care she received. To pay a small fortune ($230) for this type of service is frustrating, and when I brought this to Sheryl's attention, she dismissed my concerns, saying this is "typical for a fill in doula". Overall, Sheryl showed no interest in the needs of my child nor me so I do not recommend Family Doula Tree.

The speech pathologist Christine Moore does an excellent job working with my son and being successful over zoom(which can be challenging). She keeps parents involved and informed in the sessions and treatment for language challenges. Its easy to see she has passion for her profession and truly cares and wants to help others. ADHD Ranking 2 Stars I was less than satisfied with the services relating to ADHD. The onboarding Doctor and Psychologist I worked with made it seem like medication was a promising solution and was need to help my son focus. However, it felt like they flipped flopped and changed their minds about medication ever being an option. Unless your child is a harm to themselves, you are unlikely to receive treatment for ADHD. I understand the reason for their strict guidelines around treating ADHD, but I think there are cases where it can really be beneficial to children even if they are not a harm to themselves(blindly running into the street ext....). This is an ongoing process so I will provide updates as I continue to work with them. The more outside perspectives you can provide of your childs challenges the stronger your case will be. All that being said, I would highly recommend you give them a chance and see for yourself. For speech therapy, this is the place to be! I was skeptical about speech therapy having had bad experience prior. But Christine Moore has brought back my faith in it.

Many of the staff are some of the best people I have ever worked with (shout out to the amazing, dedicated team). I will shortly be leaving to continue my education, but I would stay if I could continue working with these amazing teachers and admin. As they say, "You don't quit a place. When you do ask for support they make you feel like you're in the wrong. Admin has gone through so many changes and the actual owner/boss isn't even there ever. She "works from home" but does absolutely nothing and has no interaction with employees whatsoeve. they don't even have a reliable hr person. The HR person isn't on site and when you text or email them it takes days for them to answer and then when you fill out your ins information with your address they mess it up and put the centers address as your home address and you cant fix it without having them completely redo the application. The Hr Person is basically non existent in the company. They used to have Greta benefits but have recently started taking them away so workers had to form a union but since no bargaining session has happened yet they are still treating employees very badly.

While other schools treated this as a problem to be quickly solved with many tears and quick drop offs, Teacher Amy had a different approach - work with the child on their time table, meet them where they are at. I spent months sitting and staying in the classroom until my kiddo was comfortable and now she has absolutely no issues and adores school! The space is lovely and bright, the other parents are kind and supportive and form a loving community, and my daughter is more than prepared for kindergarten, already reading and writing! The play-based philosophy and emphasis on building personal and interpersonal skills was just perfect for us and I wish I had more kids to sent to MTP!

While pregnant I spent hours in birthing classes, poured over books on labor and birth, and meditated on my womanly strength that would power me through a beautiful and moving birthing experience. Then all of a sudden the birth was over and I had a screaming newborn. I was in no way prepared for all the challenges this would bring, but most importantly, the challenges I was experiencing with breastfeeding. It was not at all easy for me, it did not come naturally, the pain was so bad it made me wish for my contractions back, and my daughter was hungry, very hungry. Somehow, Merriah and Emily were able to reach me through my fog of sleep deprivation and spontaneous tears and guide me through it all. They helped me breath, massaged my shoulders, and gave specific and much needed instruction on nursing positions, nipple care, and my daughter's needs. As my milk came in and her belly filled with milk, my daughter stopped screaming, my nipples began to heal, and I began to believe I could survive as a mother. I cannot imagine a skill more essential in a post-partum doula than that of a certified lactation consultant (and Emily's magical masseuse skills...). In those timeless hours and days after the birth of my baby, the loving support of these confident women made them feel like family to me, and I feel so fortunate to have had them in my life at such a crucial time. read more

If I could give Bridgetown Baby a million stars on Yelp, I would. These women were lifesavers! From the beginning of our whole birth process at the hospital, everything seemed to go wrong: my labor was prolonged, I hemorrhaged after my C-section, I spent 3 days in the ICU, I developed a heart condition from the trauma, my incision/uterus got infected, I developed postpartum depression, AND we had a colicky baby to boot. Because of everything we went through, my husband also developed PTSD. With no family in the area, we desperately needed some help. Merriah and her fabulous team of doulas came to our rescue. They were the life raft to our sinking ship. Merriah or one of her team members would come to the house and watch our very fussy baby while my husband and I got a full night of sleep. Every time, they brought with them a sense of calm. Upon their arrival, we'd "debrief" and they'd address any concerns we had about our newborn. They'd offer advice/suggestions without any judgement before happily sending us to bed. In the morning, we'd wake to a frittata in the oven, clean laundry, and washed baby bottles. It was exactly what we needed exactly when we needed it. When everything was going wrong, calling Bridgetown was the very best decision we could have made. Thank you Bridgetown Baby! Bridgetown Baby was an absolute life saver and blessing for our family as we welcomed our first baby home 2.5 months ago. It's hard to even put into words how meaningful our doulas were to our family in this extremely vulnerable and special time in our lives. Because of Bridgetown Baby we had successful breastfeeding, were able to re-charge our energy on a regular basis, learned parenting tips we never would have known and we were able to show up as better parents to our new little addition. It was an absolute game-changer. The whole team is top notch and we immediately felt comfortable trusting them with our baby. Not only did they provide support and expertise when it came to our new baby, but they helped tremendously around the house in a time when it can feel impossible to get any task or chore accomplished including cooking us breakfast, keeping the kitchen clean, doing laundry, changing sheets on the bed and more. It always felt like we had a friend, confidant and even a therapist with us when our doulas came over. They even showed our little dog so much love! Cannot recommend this company highly enough- it was the BEST decision we made and we miss our gals so much. I could go on and on! As first time parents who have never been around infants before we really appreciated the expertise and support of Brita! Having her in our home felt natural, which I didn't expect. She very much put us at ease. Brita answered our questions in ways that left room for our family's choices and individual needs but was also firm and concise in the information she gave. It very much felt like I was speaking to someone knowledgable with concrete information I could trust and modify to our life. One of the primary reasons we sought a doula for home support was to help our older aunt feel comfortable taking care of an infant - Bridgetown Baby was SO helpful. Our aunt now feels much more confident and has tools to care for and engage our new baby. We are so grateful to have had this resource!! We interacted with several staff at Bridgetown and they were all so informative and caring of our needs and experience. It really felt like they were taking the time to know us and aid us in a very tailored way. Notable to us, our doula was receptive and comfortable with they/them pronouns for us and our child. I highly recommend Melissa Curry. She is IBCLC lactation consultant and extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and encouraging. She met with us prior to birth and gave us a background on lactation and what to expect the first couple of day. She made a visit just a few days after coming back from the hospital and was the only lactation consultant to give our kiddo an oral exam and diagnosis a tongue tie. She helped us through finding a physician for performing a tongue tie and lip tie release and all sorts of oral and tummy time exercises required to help both my kiddo become a better feeder. After each visit she provided a care plan that always started with "you are doing a great job working to meet your child's nutritional needs." This support was invaluable as breastfeeding was extremely challenging and painful at first. 5 months postpartum I am now breastfeeding on the go. I could have never imagined that at the beginning. I cannot recommend Melissa and Bridgetown Baby enough. And her services are likely free through The Lactation Network and your insurance. Don't hesitate to book with her today! This review is for the weekly Nurturing Circle calls led by Bridgetown Baby. I first received the information about the Nurturing Circle through my doula. I was hesitant to join, and after a few rough weeks post-birth I felt it was important to try, especially with mental health resources in the area being so limited. I am so glad I trusted the desire to experiment. The first few (many) months of motherhood were messy and the Nurturing Circle was the nest to which I always returned. Within the group I felt seen, heard, understood and loved. I felt safe. I am infinitely grateful for Brita's warm guidance, the other mothers and doulas, and all of the experts who contributed to this nurturing experience. My daughter is now almost one and I can say without hesitation that there were days this group saved me. It was a guiding light during a sometimes dark, often strange (and bewildering) and equally joy-filled transition. Thank you, Brita and Rebecca, for coming together to create this space. 5 stars doesn't even seem like enough. These women are incredible, nurturing, empowering, knowledgeable, sensitive and soothing life savers. It was initially difficult for me to ask for this kind of help - but once I did, I never wanted them to leave. In a culture where so much energy is focused on pregnancy and delivery, the postpartum time is often neglected for new parents. Having this kind of help was revelatory. I didn't fully realize how tense I was managing my 5.5 year old and newborn until Merriah or Emily would show up and then my whole body relaxed. Most of the time I slept while they cooked, cleaned, fed and entertained my kids. I always felt a new sense of energy and confidence as a mother when they left. This was the best money we spent as a family during this postpartum time. Everyone I've interacted with at Bridgetown has been angel-like. I'll start with Brita, she runs the BB blog, hosts nurturing circles, and supported my family with our first baby through day time and night time care. She is an incredible human who genuinely loves people and helped my family through some really tough times. Those early postpartum days are no joke. Now to Adrienne, ICBLC, I had been to 3 other LCs through hospital or independently before working with Adrienne. She gave me so much encouragement, helped me through a bout of mastitis, and I thank her because I'm not sure I'd still be breastfeeding without her support (same goes to Brita). We had tongue tie, lip tie, (corrected through frenotomy), high palate, oversupply, etc and she walked us through all of it. It's her positivity and encouragement that really meant the world to me. In generations past, family and community would surround new parents and provide much needed help - beyond skilled lactation help, Merriah is a professional community builder! She not only swoops in to help with baby care, ensuring sleep for exhausted parents, she knows pretty much everyone in Portland and often acts as a "new parent matchmaker" connecting folks who really hit it off (which is awesome when home on maternity leave!) The Bridgetown doulas have been an invaluable support during these early months with our new baby. They make small miracles happen with each visit! During an overnight stay, our doula somehow manages to cook up several meals for us to savor through the week, folds our laundry, washes our dishes, answers breastfeeding and baby care questions, and most importantly, helps us get much needed rest by caring sweetly for our babe. We have worked with several of the Bridgetown gals and it has felt easy to put our trust in these amazing women who approach their work with warmth, compassion, and a whole lot of wisdom. I really cannot speak highly enough of Bridgetown Baby! Truly, these doulas were amazing and such a pleasure to work with. As a first time mom, when my husband had to leave on two separate work trips when our son was just a month old, the idea of being alone with him overnight left me feeling extremely anxious. I was an emotional wreck whenever I thought of my husband going away and not being able to help with the baby. When we discovered Bridgetown Baby, we decided to give it a try. I was slightly nervous prior to meeting the doulas, but when Camilla and Atika came into our home to help me care for our baby boy, I immediately felt at ease. Bridgetown Baby simply shines in their work with mamas and their babies. I worked with Merriah and Bridgetown Baby after my second little girl was born. At first I thought, hey, I've had one baby, I can do this! Well, my partner headed back to work after only a few days and Merriah swooped in with some very welcome wisdom, care, and support. She prepared me nutritious food, folded and sorted baby clothes, and just simply listened. She also diagnosed my little one with a tongue tie that made breastfeeding painful and difficult, and she helped get me on the path to resolving those issues quickly. My experience with our assigned hospital lactation consultant simply did not compare to the expertise and care that Bridgetown Baby provided me! Melissa Curry was a complete game changer in our postpartum care. I found her through Bridgetown Baby, and I am so grateful I did. I had a horrific time breastfeeding my first child. I was told I couldn't make milk and ultimately wasn't able to continue the journey with my first son. I was absolutely petrified to try again. Melissa changed everything. She supported us every step of the way. As a new mama everything can feel stressful and overwhelming. The care I received from my Bridgetown Baby doula was exactly what I needed. She walked me through breastfeeding concerns and helped me become more confident in my care for my newborn as well as provided time to care for myself as well. My infant had some dietary sensitivites so she helped find recipes that would accomodate these changes and prepared snacks and some meals to make sure I was getting the nourishment I needed. She walked my husband and me through baby wearing options and helped teach us the techniques we needed to grow more confident as a family. She helped make the stressful fourth trimester a beautiful time. I will for sure plan on having Bridgetown Baby Doulas again for our next baby if we are blessed with that opportunity. read more

We absolutely loved working with Bridgetown Baby and our doulas Mindy and Jennifer. The doulas helped with overnight support and wow what a game changer for us getting much needed rest. Mindy went above and beyond in helping take care of me and the baby. I felt like she truly cared about us as a family, made sure I got as much rest as possible, and that we were set up for success the next day. She was excellent at anticipating needs and helping with things that made our days and nights easier. I can't recommend Bridgetown Baby highly enough! Services like these should be standard for all postpartum families, but I digress :) We worked with Atika - aka our Fairy Godmother, as we lovingly refer to her as - for a series of night shifts. Both my husband and I would giddily await her arrival, knowing we'd get precious hours of sleep that night and our baby would be in wonderful hands. I could not have dreamed of a more perfect doula for our new family than Merriah, nor could I have imagined that a person would be as influential, important, and feel like family in such short order. Lactation Support - Melissa Curry Melissa was amazing to work with, and made it possible for me to exclusively breastfeed my daughter. Prior to working with Melissa I had worked with other lactation consultants and been told my daughter would most likely not be able to breastfeed due to issues with latch. Melissa brought us a number of new suggestions for things to try and after working with her for just over a month my daughter began exclusively breastfeeding. We were referred to Bridgetown by many friends by could never have imagined what an important role they would play during our transformation as parents. From day one when helping us cope with a jaundice and a tongue-tied baby they were supportive, informative, nurturing and FUN! We found their evening and overnight support especially helpful as my husband transitioned back to work. It allowed us time to connect and get a full night sleep when you need it most. I can write a whole essay about how grateful I am for Patty and maybe it's the hormones but reflecting to the day I gave birth to my son and the support I received from Patty makes me want to cry. On the day of my induction, Patty was with another client who was also going through an induction as well (this is a super rare case). Even though I know she was 100% present with her other client, she constantly checked in with me and reminded me I can reach out to her at any point during my induction process if I have questions or need support. She also set up a backup doula for "just in case" if I needed it. I was already laboring for 14 hours when Patty arrived, and she brought so much energy to the room and got me up and moving so I can dilate more. Patty was super supportive of my plans to do a natural birth but when I told her I was too tired and really wanted to sleep, she was fully supportive of my decision to get the epidural. I had Patty in the room with me during the epidural process and she guided me through the whole process and kept me calm. Once I got the epidural, I was able to rest but the whole time, Patty would help position my body differently so I can continue to open. She was by my side the rest of the night as I contract so my husband can also rest. As labor progress, we were told my son's heart rate was dropping when I contract and the word "c-section" was mentioned since I was only at 6cm dilated. I never mentally prepared for this so of course I started to spiral but Patty advocated for me and requested to our OBGYN team to give me more time to see if I can dilate more. Patty continues to position me differently but, in the end, c-section was the only way to ensure my son's safety. We only had a short time from the time I said "yes" to C-Section to going into the OR and the whole time, Patty was next to me, reassuring me, reminding me that no matter what the outcome will be that I get to meet my son very soon. My husband and I are extremely grateful for Patty. We strongly believe our birth story wouldn't have been so positive if it wasn't for Patty's presence, support, and guidance.

We were a little on the fence about hiring a doula since this was our second baby, but we really wanted that holistic, nurturing care that a hospital alone can't always provide -- and Nomarie was exactly what we'd hoped for. I'm not what you'd call a "country granola" type of mom -- I went into this birth fully planning on (and very much wanting!) all the pain relief and medical support. But there's still such an important place for a doula in that environment. Nomarie helped bring warmth, connection, and a truly holistic touch to what could have otherwise felt like a very clinical experience. From the very first meeting, she made us feel comfortable, supported, and truly heard. She took the time to understand our hopes for the birth and was such a calming, confident presence every step of the way. When labor began, Nomarie was our angel -- grounding us through every contraction, guiding my partner on how to support me, and helping us navigate all the twists and turns that came our way. I was grateful our contract meant that we would be provided a backup doula. I felt we lucked out because Kelly had facilitated our childbirth class so we had spent a weekend together. Kelly was not a total stranger. Kelly was in contact with my husband throughout my early labor at home and offered to come as soon as we wanted support for laboring at home. We felt so supported by Kelly's checkins and support even from afar. She encouraged Chris with specific tactics to keep labor progressing when I had a slow down before her arriving. At about hour 12 of labor my husband was exhausted from helping me through the waves. When she arrived her energy was calm and informed. Kelly's approach is consent based and empowering. I could sense her understanding of labor and her guidance was calm and direct which is what I needed. She immediately offered comfort measures such as massage and counter pressure. Both were amazing and gave Chris a much needed break. The pain of labor was intense and Kelly's energy, knowledge, and touch supported me in staying in my body. We've never done this before, Chris was anxious and wasn't sure when to make the call to go to the hospital. Kelly helped Chris feel at ease. Chris felt relieved to have someone to trade off with in the physical support of my labor. I didn't have to worry about anything except getting through each contraction. No easy feat. Unbeknownst to me Kelly and Chris would collaborate on next steps. Kelly's discretion in pulling Chris aside for next steps helped me focus on labor. Each stage of labor Kelly would come to me make eye contact and describe the next phase of labor. I usually heard it as "ok this next part is going to be harder (than the last phase) here is what is happening and how to proceed." It wasn't what I wanted to hear but it was what I needed to hear. I appreciated the clear and direct communication about what was next. It was exactly what I needed.Anytime I got stuck during active labor, Kelly would give me tips for getting through. How to breathe, how to let go, how to welcome contractions with curiosity and then let it go. Kelly was the anchor Chris needed in supporting me through labor, making sure his physical needs were met so he could continue being there for me. Kelly was my lighthouse in the stormy sea of labor. I would look up to find her or Chris and then gather the strength to sail the next wave.I got through labor and delivered our amazing little baby. Kelly advocated for me, took charge when needed, and stayed with me throughout. I was able to go into my deepest self to gather strength and power for labor. I could let go of control of everything around me because I knew Chris and Kelly were taking care of it all. In the days after our baby's birth Chris and I continually recounted that Kelly's support was vital and invaluable to our birthing experience. We would not and we're pretty could not have done it without Kelly. We are so grateful. I felt held and empowered. Kelly is an expert doula, highly intuitive, and doesn't miss any detail. Doula work is hard to define, but it fills in the gap of care for birthing people. What does it mean to really hold and care for someone as they bring new life into the world? Later that night, I quietly Googled it... Guys - think personal quarterback mechanics coach. Rebecca was referred to us from a friend who had used her services for her own pregnancy just a few months earlier. My wife scheduled a meeting and Rebecca arrived on-time, very prepared and very knowledgeable. She discussed her methodology and services and answered our questions. She encouraged us to think about it before making a decision about whether or not she was the right doula for us. She was not pushy at all, and never passed judgement on our birth plan. (I was pro-nitrous because I wanted some for myself.) Seriously though, she's so Zen/calm that it's contagious. Because we felt such a strong connection with her, we hired her. Honestly, we probably could have chased after her in the driveway because it didn't take long to know we had found an amazing, caring resource that we NEEDED to help us in our journey. With Rebecca at our side, we always felt prepared. When things came up, we knew we could rely on her to help us with experienced guidance and research. "Let me send you an article on that..." was probably the most common phrase to come out of her mouth. (Mostly because I apparently wasn't doing enough reading/researching on my own.) Even when things veered as far as possible from our birth plan, Rebecca helped us in ways that we never expected, especially in extraordinary ways that were beyond what she was obligated to do. She helped keep us calm and sane in a time when fear could have easily gotten the better of us. I can't imagine the birth of our daughter without Rebecca being there. For every decision that we were going to face in the birth process, Rebecca presented us with all options and research to back them up, letting us decide what was in our best interest. My favorite part of our pre-birth doula visits with Rebecca was the emotional support that she provided. Most often, the visits ended up being a somewhat therapy session around our excitement, anxiety and fears about childbirth. We always left feeling informed and confident. As sometimes happens, our birth plan went in the complete opposite direction as we had expected and having Rebecca guide us through the process kept our (or my) anxiety at ease. She then helped me process my birth experience, something I didn't really realize that I would need. I also had Rebecca process and encapsulate my placenta which I'd highly recommend! I had no idea there were so many ways that placenta capsules could be beneficial in my postpartum journey. One last bonus - Rebecca took some of the most beautiful pictures of our birth day. I hadn't originally wanted any pictures but I'm so happy that I have them now.

One of our midwife-assistants left the company a…read morecouple months into my pregnancy, and when I asked her why, she said, "I just want a more personal experience with mothers," and at the time I didn't get it, but then I had my traumatic birth experience, forced into a hospital even though my pregnancy was advancing ideally, and I kind of got it. And I've sat on this for a couple years but am now compelled to share because my friend has now been also forced into a hospital birth even though her labor was advancing ideally, and now I'm just mad. They seem to have the same "easy button" policy as most hospitals do, and in general that's not why we go seeking out midwives. Alma is corporate midwifery, shoving people through the very gauntlet we have left mainstream medical childbirth to avoid. At the end of it, the individual midwives are lovely--I'm still friends with my midwife to this day--but the company itself treats birthing mothers as the exact same commodity that traditional western hospitals do. If I had it to do again, I would have followed that midwife-assistant to a more personal experience.

I've had bad experiences with hospitals and almost always feel like I'm not being heard as a patient. This is such a HUGE life chapter to go through I really didn't want to be surrounded by strangers making me feel like my voice didn't matter and that birth was some sort of major medical procedure rather than a natural life event. In steps... Alma! Someone had mentioned them to me so my husband and I went and met with Laura who walked us through what a pregnancy and birth with Alma would entail. Wow! It was so refreshing to feel so comfortable and at home in a clinical setting. From day one they made me feel welcome and heard. Another huge blessing about Alma was that from our first appointment they were upfront about what the total cost of having our baby at the birth center would be (permitting there were no complications). I cannot tell you how incredibly refreshing it was to know an amount ahead of time so that we could budget and be prepared. Our baby was born healthy with no issues and I can tell you the price we paid is exactly what they quoted us nine months earlier. What I also loved and appreciated, was for all our check up appointments before our baby arrived we saw one of two midwives and an assistant midwife. And so we knew when our baby came it would be one of those two who would be helping us deliver. It meant so much to me to have grown a relationship of trust and kindness with these women before hand. It made going into labor so much more peaceful and not stressful knowing that I knew and liked the team that was helping me. The birthing suites are just the perfect balance of a medical and home setting. So many people had no idea what I meant when I said we were having our baby had a birth center. So I just told them it's not as cold as a hospital, but it's more medical than a home. It was so inviting and will always hold a special place in my heart. There's so much more I could say, but these are the biggest things of why I am so grateful for Alma and why I can say with confidence...this is where will have all our future children.

When my baby was about 4 months old, I reached out to The Birthing Stone Doula for guidance, and I'm so glad I did. The set-up process was super easy. Tiffany quickly got back to me, asked a few questions through phone call, and matched me with Julia, one of their sleep coaches. From the very first home visit, Julia was incredible--kind, empathetic, and so knowledgeable. She helped me recognize when my daughter was self-soothing and gave me practical things to try. We set goals like easing daycare naps, learning to self-soothe, and adjusting to her crib. Throughout the process, Julia was always there--quick to respond, thoughtful in her answers, and endlessly encouraging. She gave me confidence to trust my instincts as a mom, while also teaching me tools to help my baby build healthy sleep habits. Within a few weeks, we met all our goals. Now my baby is a solid sleeper, can self-soothe, and sleeps through the night. I honestly don't think we'd be here without Julia's support. Highly recommend!

I'm a first time mother who really had no idea what to expect with the labor and delivery experience. Here are the main points of what we knew we wanted for our birthing experience: *delivery at Legacy Meridian Hospital *labor as long as I could without any pain medication *make use of resources to be comfortable (medicine/peanut ball, jacuzzi, massages, essential oils, dim lighting...etc) *doula for support No judgements. Compassion. We interviewed one other doula before choosing Casey and Charli. Without hesitation I knew I had to have this awesome team to support me. They are incredibly warm and friendly with tons of knowledge and experience with the whole process (pregnancy to postpartum). I felt completely comfortable upon meeting them. One of the biggest reasons why we chose them was because we were guaranteed to see one of them on the big day. Other doulas are so busy with other clients that they may send someone else from their company to support you on your big day, and that was something I didn't feel comfortable with. Casey and Charli didn't make me feel like I was just a number to add to their list of births. They always listened and asked questions. The process was easy and accommodating: first contacted via e-mail, set up the first meeting, establish a contract and deposit, set up another meeting, maintain 24/7 contact throughout pregnancy, go through labor and delivery, pay balance, and postpartum appointment. Birthing Stone offers a lot of great classes, so take advantage of these! Casey and Charli had excellent communication throughout and a great, well-organized system down to support me at any moment. I opted to have a doula-in-training to attend my delivery as well. My delivery exceeded my expectations! I had a fast delivery and ended up not using any of the resources available at the hospital. Charli and the doula-in-training were supportive and helped me to focus on breathing and relaxing during my labor. Charli made me feel like a super woman! She tied my hair back and not only worked with the medical team for me, but she made sure my husband was taken care of too. After my delivery, they checked up on me at home and helped me with any issues I had with breastfeeding. I like that they don't leave you hanging because there's SO much to this whole experience. Overall, I highly recommend Birthing Stone!! If you're looking for a doula team, this is it.

For those who don't know, Birthingway trains…read morelactation consultants and so when you have an appointment, you'll have one certified LC and a few students. I was really struggling to feed my newborn and after searching around I came across Birthingway and saw how affordable they were. I am not in a position where I can spend $100 in consultations- Birthingway will not turn anybody away but a $20 donation is suggested. That is incredible! My appointment was with Emily, the LC, and one student (Adrienne?) and both were fabulous and very knowledgable. They assessed my baby before, during, and after feeding and gave me great suggestions for latching problems and breast care. I am so grateful for their help! As a bonus, my appointment was on a Saturday, so very convenient! Thank you, Birthingway!!
