On a road trip, we put in an online to-go order from Becca's Cafe in Wausau, and I was pretty impressed. The menu reads like they're reaching a bit higher than a typical sandwich shop, yet the prices were totally reasonable. $40 before tip for a wrap with sweet potato fries, a panini with chips, a kids PBJ with snack pack fruit cup, a chocolate milk, an 8oz cup of soup, and a side of potato salad. It's a place I'll happily hit up again out that a ways The hot Peppercorn Steak Wrap was excellent. Would be hard pressed not to order it again instead of trying something different. The Sweet Potato Fries though managed to be burned AND soggy and limp "Herb-garlic tortilla, shredded steak, tomato, red onion, cilantro, spinach, provolone, parm-peppercorn dressing" Sonoma Chicken Panini "Grilled chicken breast, provolone, basil, mushroom, red onion, sun-dried tomato pesto, balsamic glaze" Their Loaded Potato Salad is intense. My sisters and I ordered catering from Becca's for our mom's 70th birthday party this past weekend. The food not only tasted great but was arranged so beautifully! Everything was fresh and the guests were all very happy with the meal. The man who delivered it was so kind and helpful - everyone we dealt with was so nice to us and patient with answering all of our questions. The price was also very affordable. It was so so. I wanted to do a create your own. But the pricing was impossible to decipher. A full sandwich was $10 for my choice. I wanted half a sandwich and soup. So the upcharge is $1.39 for soup but there's no pricing for half a sandwich. They said it's $11.39 for half a $10 sandwich and soup which is normally $5. But I'm getting only half a sandwich. So you're charging me $3.60 less than full price but I'd be getting only half of the $10 sandwich. It makes no sense and pricing isn't clear at all. Zero info on the cost unless you ask and even then it wasn't clear. Very confusing. Glad to hear they'll be clarifying that soon. Chicken salad was decent. Bread seemed like plain thin white bread. Salmon sandwich was just okay. The quesadilla wrap was good but very small for $11. Only a tiny container of salsa was provided to go with the wrap and tortilla chips. Kettle chips were good but were barbecue flavor which. Or everyone enjoys. No notice on that front. They were about to close so they gave my husband a small coffee; I presume because they'd be dumping it soon anyhow. A bit pricy at $43 as we had dinner the prior night in the next town over with full table service, way more homemade food and a 20% tip for $39. Went here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was pretty busy as usual, since it is a favorite in town. I know this will be a contrary opinion to most, but I have to say, the more I go here, the less I like it. The staff is always super friendly and nice, but the food quality for the price doesn't seem to match. This being said, this is still a favorite restaurant of one of the individuals I went to lunch with. We ordered the roasted turkey and avocado sandwich on wheat, the turkey and avocado wrap, and the sesame chicken wrap. The roasted turkey sandwich ended up coming out on white bread as opposed to wheat, but overall it tasted okay. The Swiss cheese was the dominant flavor and it worked well together with the other ingredients, but the bacon flavor was actually lost. The turkey and avocado wrap was kind of disappointing as there was only one small piece of avocado in it (see photo). For having avocado in the name, I was expecting more. That being said there was a decent amount of turkey in it. One question we had was why all of the turkey sandwiches had to come with bacon, and more like bacon bits at that. It makes them a little more difficult to pick out if you don't want them. The sesame chicken wrap was the favorite of the group. Overall, the food is fine, but for some reason I always go in expecting it to be better. They are definitely the type of restaurant that I gravitate towards, as I love a good wrap, but I just think their wrap options aren't up my alley. On a road trip July 26, 2024, my two daughters and I stopped at Becca's Cafe and Bistro in Wausau WI. Our first visit there. What an incredible place! Beautiful atmosphere, very clean establishment. friendly and efficient staff, reasonable prices, superbly delicious entrees! With our sandwiches / wraps one of our side dishes selected was the red skinned loaded potato salad. The very best potato salad ever! Would love to know their basic dressing recipe ingredients. At the Weston location on a Saturday afternoon, we got takeout lunch. The smoothies were good. The rest of the food was haphazardly and unevenly assembled. I might have tried them again, because the food seemed healthy and fresh, BUT, when we picked up the food and paid for it, a staff of at least 8 were all buzzing around the kitchen without masks and without social distance. Stopped in on a whim as Becca's is tucked behind/ next to a business on a pretty busy road so not super-visible. I even turned around to get there, breaking our "no going back" policy!! Had lunch at this café in Wassau. It was a very nice, clean environment, and nice cozy atmosphere. We liked this location due to its gluten-free options of wraps and salads. I had the steak and swiss cheese panini, my wife the chicken wrap, and my mother the vegetarian wrap. We all had the sweet potato fries as well. All entrées were definitely somewhat bland and the fries was cooked inconsistently (hot and cool) and also bland. The price-value relationship was also a bit pricey for what you got. A very nice place, that is a local version of Panera restaurants without the extensive bakery. The cupcakes and other cake slices are ok, and the dessert prices are high for the taste value, so don't come for dessert. Over the course of several visits, their panini's and wraps have always paired well with a cup of delicious soup. Sides could be a side salad, or seasoned kettle chips which are better than most, or the chips and salsa for a nice change. I only come on Sundays or just outside of regular meal times, because the place is very small. Covered outdoor seating doubles the capacity. read more

My wife had been a big fan of Becca's and took me there one afternoon for lunch. The menu was very imaginative and most everything sounded very tasty. I ordered the hot chicken quesadilla wrap with chips and salsa. My wife got the salmon panini with sweet potato fries. Both of us would order the same thing again, the food was great! I would want to explore more of the menu next time as I was torn between ordering multiple items. We also split the carrot cake for desert, which both of us loved. I also liked that they carried Bull Falls beer. I didn't order one, but it was great to see one local business supporting another. I feel like this place is one of those "hidden gems" in the Wausau area. A sort of place that locals recommend as the best spot in the area to out-of-towners instead of recommending Texas Roadhouse. It is a place that makes you happy to live in Wausau. I'd recommend this place to locals and visitors alike. I will be making many more stops at Becca's for years to come! read more

I stopped here on my way home as I was traveling on I39 north. I was trying to think of a cool little place To eat in Wausau. I remembered Beccas from a previous visit. I was very happy with the food and the restaurant is very nicely decorated and super clean looking. This trip I had a veggie panini and my friend had a grilled wrap. She had a side of fresh fruit- a good bowl too, no lame nasty canned stuff here. I had some great chips and some okay salsa. The sandwiches were hot and fresh and we both enjoyed the flavors. My wife and I stopped in to check it out tonight. A pleasant place to go for a nice informal dinner. I had a Napa Valley Panini which was very good (4 stars), $7.79. It's served with tricolor tortilla chips which were OK by themselves (3 stars). There salsa is excellent (5 stars). I was in a weird culinary mood so I my drink was a banana split smoothie (with strawberries): scrumptious (5 stars), $3.79. My wife had a Veganini Panini which I tasted (3 - 4 stars), $7.79, and a bottle of Perrier ($1.99). Although this chain has a limited menu their choices are interesting. Always seen Becca's cafe, but never been in. First timer, I'd have to say it reminded me so much of Panera bread- just that it was a bit cheaper. Their soups definitely taste diff than Panera bread, but their sandwiches were really good. Cashiers were friendly, and we had good service. No complaints. Would def go here again! read more

I eat at Becca's a few times a month and It has yet to disappoint. The variety of dishes and combinations you can order is great. I'll generally get a soup and sandwich and it runs around 12 bucks. Not super cheap but the food is great and the service is fast. The upstairs seating is really nice as you can look out at the surrounding area. Employees were all excellent. They did a fantastic job under poor working conditions. The owner of this business should be ashamed of themselves making employees work in those jobs with NO AIR CONDITIONING! The employees were hot and sweating, we could not eat inside as it was uncomfortable so luckily there was a table outside in the shade for us to sit. The food was prepared very well by the hard working employees. Other customers there we spoke to said the air conditioning has not worked here all summer. If I worked there I would organize this place be shut down until working conditions improved, the air conditioning be repaired. Workers were 5 stars, food was excellent...owner deserves a negative rating for making employees work in substandard conditions. Other customers we spoke with that day all agreed with us.
