Excellent small business, that is actually part of a larger family-owned shoe store chain that I found on on my visit includes 22 stores, mainly in Northern California, Nevada and the Bay Area. I washed a pair of trail shoes while on vacation, leaving my insoles out, and then behind at an Airbnb, many miles back in Tahoe. Meanwhile, I had the strange assignment to find insole replacements for my trail runners, which is hard to do in small town California (near Lassen National Park) but was not a problem at Beck's in Susansville. They had a way to measure foot pressure & fixed me up with a great pair of insoles that will have me back out hiking comfortably. Customer service here, both on the phone and in person was absolutely friendly, knowledgable and helpful. For those needing outdoor or comfortable shoes, they have Teva, Born and Berkenstock, to name a few, plus a large selection of sole inserts. read more

Dayla and Josh are always so knowledgable and helpful. They will assist you in getting the proper size and fit for what you need in a shoe. Beck's offers a lot of good choices but the added bonus is the wonderful customer service that you receive from these two! They have helped me multiple times size shoes properly. Josh is great. He knows everything about shoes. He was so helpful knowing how to select the right Hoka brand for my husband's needs. Josh is an icon in that store. Everyone in town knows him & sings his praises. Dalyla is also someone who knows shoes. Very friendly & always smiling. Interacts with the customer in a pleasing manner. Both these guys are great. This is the second time visiting the Susanville Becks store. Each time I have been there we have been greeted by Dayla who is a freaking rockstar. Her approach on customer service is unparalleled. My husband and I both work in retail and are on our feet for long hours daily. We explained the situation to Dayla and she was on it. I personally have never been treated like she treated myself and my husband. She is an amazing employee and the quality of the products are amazing.My feet have never felt like this. I came into the store today to replace the worn laces on my work boots. I received excellent customer service from Josh, who not only upgraded my laces, but also cleaned and applied leather protection to the boots themselves. He took the time to measure my feet for proper insoles, and I left the store feeling like I had bought a new pair of boots.
