They've been arrogant and rude with me personally and I've witnessed them treat other customers poorly as well. I now refuse to shop with them, and I highly recommend shopping at their competitors across the street (Ayoob's) they are always friendly and go above and beyond for their customers and have the essential tackle for anything around the lake or hunting supplies .

I washed a pair of trail shoes while on vacation, leaving my insoles out, and then behind at an Airbnb, many miles back in Tahoe. Meanwhile, I had the strange assignment to find insole replacements for my trail runners, which is hard to do in small town California (near Lassen National Park) but was not a problem at Beck's in Susansville. They had a way to measure foot pressure & fixed me up with a great pair of insoles that will have me back out hiking comfortably. Customer service here, both on the phone and in person was absolutely friendly, knowledgable and helpful. For those needing outdoor or comfortable shoes, they have Teva, Born and Berkenstock, to name a few, plus a large selection of sole inserts.

Large room full of reasonably organized books. And it could easily hold a lot more. 2. I found the book I've been seeking (without the help of Amazon) - The Source by James A. Michener, and in decent shape. 3. My bonus book purchase was The Milepost (Alaska Travel Planner 2024) at a nice discount. This scope of this book extends into the Alaska Highway and beyond and serves as one of my "some day" books. 4. Nice and helpful store staff. 5. A slightly leaky air conditioner gave me a little refreshment coming in. :) 6. Credit cards accepted and via dial up!
