Ha!). My whole family ended up staying at the Best Western (which I heard NOT the best choice after their stay...) and we were in a hunt to find an affordable option that didn't include infestations of ANY sorts. We stumbled upon the Munzesheimer Manor on Hotels.com and I was slightly hesitant from the price, but there was only one room available (The Kringle Cottage) in the entire town and I emailed an inquiry to Ashlee. Just from her email, I felt sincerely welcomed and right at home, so even though the price was a little more than we initially wanted to pay, we booked! My next email to her had to deal with food preferences. The last thing I wanted to be was a bother, but since the price included breakfast, I thought I would ask if she would have any options without meat, dairy, or egg (vegan). I was happy to make other accommodations if that wasn't an option, but she happily emailed me back with an "of course!" without hesitation. We were THRILLED. She mentioned that she had a gluten free guest staying that same weekend and she is always cooking for allergies or preferences. So not only was Ashlee going to provide us with food, but when we got back from the wedding, there were freshly baked vegan brownies on our bed! (Jaw dropped with hungry drool!). In the morning she greeted us on our porch with hot tea (our preference over coffee) and at 9am we walked into the dining room to gourmet meals and beautifully set table with freshly squeezed OJ, maple chia seed pudding with fresh fruit, and German pancakes with a fresh strawberry drizzle. (Food cherubs singing!!) Besides the food and fabulous service, our Kringle Cottage was the cutest damn thing west of the Mississippi!! We had our own little porch with swing and all, a claw foot tub with an adorable heated furnace nearby, and the year-round comfort (I don't care how old you are!) of Christmas decorations and cheer! It was the BEST B&B/hotel/motel stay we have EVER had! If you are even thinking twice about booking a room here or thinking of swinging through this sweet little town, PLEASE DO!! If we ever drive up to Dallas again, we will be going out of our way to stay here! :) Can't say enough about the sweet southern hospitality we received.

Five stars for everything including perfect, honest descriptions on the website. Helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Full kitchen and nice A/C. Updated bathroom with nice shower. There is a TV with digital broadcast and a dvd player. New where it needs to be and antique where it should be. Our stay was serene amongst old farm buildings, a creek, small ponds and lots of wildlife. Nearest neighbors are acres away including a local cop (we heard) and a couple of farmers. Mineola is about 10 minutes away and filled our weekend with restaurants and small town shopping. We also hit Winnsboro, TX about 30 minutes away to view some of our old family's residences from back in the day. Being in the event business, I could appreciate how the proprietor took one of the large barns and turned it into an open air special event facility with lighting, small stage, bar, picnic area and a clean smooth new floor for catering, weddings, concerts and reunions. If I lived in that area, I would use the heck out of it. The coordinator or the guest of honor and family could stay on site in the cottage while the rest of the party could stay in town at the ever expanding group of hotels. I think it would be cool to tent camp with some other couples out here with the cottage as home base. (haven't asked the owner yet.)

We enjoyed using the J1772 Plug, we luckily didn't need a faster charge and both plugs were accessible making our ability to fully charge, pick son up and head back towards GA easy and stress free. I loved the fact we were on first floor and no carpet for hosting pet friendly guests. The space was perfect and we were able to walk to a restaurant with 1/4 mile that was Texan style where we also had a wonderful experience. We love staying in the marriott chain as we have always had such pleasant experiences.

I made reservations on March 28th, 2024, for 7 nights, the 4-2-24 to 4-9-24. I had until April 1 at 4 pm. for a free cancelation on their website. On 3-31-24, I canceled my reservations and received an almost immediate confirmation of the cancelation at 1639 hrs. At 1700 hrs, I got a notification that my card had been charged $1401.20. I attempted to call the hotel directly to resolve the issue. I called several times, and it would ring at least 10 times, maybe more. The call would be answered, nothing was said, and then it was hung up. I then made sure my number was unblocked and tried again a few more times with the same results. On 4-1-24, I called the 800 reservation/customer care line. They verified that the deadline for free cancelation was prior to 4 pm 4-1-24. I was transferred to a specialist who attempted to call the hotel directly and had no answer for them either. I was instructed by Frank to call in the following morning to see how the hotel manager responded to their email. I have disputed the charge with my card company, and my card is canceled. I realize many are headed to this area and canceled as soon as I knew I would not need the room. There is no excuse for answering and hanging up the phone. There also is no excuse for them charging my card when I followed the contract. I might add the room listed as $79.00 a night. However, it was only for three of the 7 nights. The others showed up as $259.00. It's a little misleading. At 1950 hours, I got a call from a young sounding male asking if I had called them. He had not identified himself. I asked who it was, and he rapidly fired off an answer. Out of it, I got Jay and Roadway Inn. I answered I had and proceeded to tell him they had charged my card after I canceled. His response was to call Choice Hotels. I advised him I had, and they had sent an email to the manager. He hung up! This morning, 4-1-24, as directed by Frank, the day before, I called customer care. After three tries and either getting transferred to the wrong person or disconnected, I got Vi who attempted to call the hotel. She was told to call back in 45 mins. She later called and stated she had called several times and was told to call back each time. The last time she called, she was informed that the manager would not be available until Tuseday morning and to call back then. Vi said she would call in the am and then call and advise me of the outcome. At the time of this posting, I have not gotten another call. It is 1509 hrs on 4 -2-2024. At this time, I have no confidence in this Roadway Inn or Choice Hotels.
