I've had previous experience with Thai massages and knew what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised that he loved it and wants to go back! These people know what they're doing. I have consistent upper/middle back tension/knots and I felt great walking out of there. The stretching they do can be intimidating for some but, I know how important it is for the human body to stay limber (especially as we age) and I love it. Highly recommend this place, especially if you have back pain &/or knots that need to be worked out. Don't be shy about communicating your needs & wants. They are very nice and accommodating. Lawata's space at the Healing Room is conveniently located in River West with street parking either in front of the studio or around the block. I've gone to see her on different days at various times and I've never had an issue finding a spot. Her space is very clean, quiet and calming. I like the sound machine that she uses in the massage room as I find it to be relaxing. Some people may not like it, but I'm a fan. Lawata is very engaging and passionate about her career and is educated on various massage techniques. When meeting and interacting with her, you can also tell that she leads a very healthy lifestyle. Throughout my massages, Lawata asks the right questions and applies the right amount of pressure as needed. If I have any trouble spots, she focuses on those to ensure that everything is worked out. I have seen a huge improvement due to my weekly visits. Clara took the time to get to know me and my issues and tailors every massage every week.
