Eden promptly responded to my initial email and patiently answered all of my questions. It was hard having him so far away (I am based in Palo Alto), but I would drive twice as far to have Eden take care of my dog. Each day Eden would post a photo on Facebook, so I could watch him grow and she was always available to talk on the phone if I wanted an update. Eden transformed my 3 month old puppy into a well-trained, well-socialized, very happy dog. My puppy knows how to come, sit, stay, leave it, drop it, shake, and walk on a leash. He now comes with me to work and is the best-trained dog in my office. Now that my puppy has graduated from board and train, I look forward to using Sierra Dogs as a boarding place. They are always very patient, understanding and encouraging. Not only that - but they don't try and empty your bank account in your time of need. Some vets will try and sell you on some ridiculously over-priced "plan" before haggling to something more reasonable. Not here. They've diligently worked with me for months on a tricky skin issue which we finally have gotten under control. One time he had gotten bit in his face and there was no way I could bring him into the office without total chaos. They were very creative and drew up a plan with me to sedate him in the car and then take him in. They drained and cleaned his wound. Even with sedation, emergency visit and the special circumstances, I walked away spending a few hundred (versus what I'd expect would be closer to 1k+ elsewhere). Because my pupper is SO difficult at the vet, I've been to *dozens* of vets in EDC and Sacramento county. This is, hands down, one of the best I've visited. Strongly recommend!!!

She has created a really cat friendly kitty hotel in a brand new, clean, climate controlled [space]. There are individual houses for the boarders, plus ample space for climbing, watching birds and critters out the windows. If desired, the cats are allowed to interact with each other during Cristine's supervised play time. Our "Two" had never been boarded before, and was unsurprisingly hesitant at first, but as her week wore on I could tell by the regular photos that Cristine sent me that she was really relaxing and enjoying her vacation while we were away. We've already made reservations for her for our Fall trip in a few months. Little Lion House provides the kind of environment that we are happy to trust our kitty's care to. We needed a replacement, a home that was open and inviting to make my dog the most comfortable. With Stacey and Steve, it's a fun vacation with new friends! They're really reasonable people and truly care for these pets, I would drive far to have my dog boarded with them again, they're that good.

I appreciated their transparency and taking the time to take us through the yard and kennel where the dogs spend some of their time. There was lots of shade and interesting niches for our dogs to explore. Alicia and Jeremy talked about the temperaments of the other dogs staying with ours. They seem to have it figured out as far as ensuring that all the dogs are on the same level so that there's no aggression. She reviewed our dogs' shot records. All of this really helped me get comfortable that our dogs were in good hands. We picked up our dogs after their stay without any hitch. If I may provide some constructive feedback it would be just that the place needs more $$$ investment and declutter, but they seem to be making improvements. Overall, we were happy with our dogs' care and we would bring them for boarding again.

Stephanie was super helpful and gave us names of other recommended sitters, as well as providing information on their boarding services. She genuinely seemed like she was more interested in making sure our dogs were taken care of than getting us to spend our money with them specifically. Next time we have more advance warning for our trip, we'll be going with Happy Paws.

No time in a cage sounded good to me, and I made contact through Yelp's site. We arrived on time and learned that the groomer had contacted our vet to get proof of a Rabies vaccination. This felt a little intrusive because I told the groomer that I would happily provide proof. No big deal, so I let it go. We arrived with a photo of my dog's breed (Cavapoo) written requests/instructions on what I hoped for, and notations on the photo. "Not too short please; left about 3/4 of an inch. Please keep her muzzle full and round. DO NOT CUT OFF HER EYELASHES." "That's too short! You'll be back in 4 weeks, and that is not a photo of a your dog's breed." The groomer said. It absolutely was a photo of my dog's breed, but it wasn't worth pressing. We were told that we would receive a call "half an hour before she is ready." We shopped and killed time. Two hours passed and concerned, we called to see if we could retrieve our pup. "She is not ready yet. She is giving me a hard time trimming around her face. We'll call you when ready; about a half hour." The thought of my little girl being on the table over two hours was concerning. We tried to do some more shopping but were too worried. We called after more time had passed. "Another 25 minutes! We'll call you." We drove over and knocked on the locked door. It was partially opened and we were told "Another 25 minutes!" We waited another 20 minutes. "That's enough!" my husband said. "Let's get our dog." We knocked on the locked door and when it was again only cracked open, we made our way in. We paid with a tip. The GROOMER DID A BEAUTIFUL JOB ON OUR DOG'S BODY, but HER LITTLE FACE WAS RUINED! Her eyelashes were gone! Her muzzle was shaved from her eyes to the tip of her nose and was shaved so close that she had razor burn. Her chin was trimmed flat. Her head was shaved so it looked like she had a Neanderthal bulge. It will grow out, but I am heartsick that I put my puppy through hours of grooming, and angry that her beautiful little face was so horribly altered. THIS GROOMER TALKS AT YOU AND DOES NOT LISTEN OR TAKE INTO ACCOUNT YOUR WISHES! It's been two weeks since this occurred. I wanted to wait 'till I wouldn't be writing this in anger, but BEWARE!

I called Cheroane the same day and she made me an appointment for first thing the next morning. Not only did she do a great job grooming this somewhat unruly and aggressive dog, but she discovered a paw injury the shelter had overlooked and also made me aware of possible dental issues based on the dog's behavior. The dog also had dry skin and hair loss issues so she gave me some really helpful tips/info on that too. I'm so appreciative of her help and will definitely be taking my "new" old dog back to her.
