She was more thorough with the Brazilian than other people I'd recently seen, and the results were more complete with less pain. For the last 20 years of my life, I've been a habitual eyebrow wax type of girl. I started getting my brows waxed in the back of nail salon, then upgraded to a real aesthetician. And now that I've tried KD threading, I don't think I could ever go back. Here's some things you may want to know from a first timer like myself... 1) Did it hurt? Yes. But the pain is tolerable and worth the final result! 2) How long did it take? I let my brows grow out for nearly 6 weeks before I came to my threading appointment. The appointment took MAYBE 15 minutes... and my brows came out in the best shape they've ever been. 3) Cost? On this visit, I paid $20 for the brow threading and and extra $10 for a roller tube of castor oil to promote healthy hair growth plus a 20% tip because she deserved it--my brows truly still look amazing and I'm already almost 3 weeks out from my appointment. I highly recommend giving KD Threading a shot if you are in the business of brows and want to step away from traditional waxing! The vibe is definitely upscale yet chill and 100% worth the trip.

Toward the end of my second visit, she again mentioned that my brows were "different" and asked if I had been plucking them (I had not). I thought that was a strange thing to say after I felt her go to town on my brows. When I looked in the mirror, it became immediately clear why she was saying that. My eyebrows were completely uneven, different shapes, and about one-third of one eyebrow had been threaded off entirely. What was most upsetting was the lack of accountability. There was no acknowledgment of the mistake, no apology, and instead it felt like she preemptively tried to feed me negative comments about my brows to cover up the hack job.

However, Mona has absolutely earned that trust with the amazing job she did with them! I found Mona through Yelp, and the reviews are spot-on. She's such a kind, warm spirit with a very loyal client base, and for good reason. You can schedule with her via text, and she is quite flexible to accommodate you as best as she can. She's so detailed and gentle; the entire process was painless and I feel like she took her time to give me the best results. While I gave her free control, she kept my length (which is always my preference) and gave me the arch of my dreams (not too arched but not too subtle either). Mona basically said, "2016 brows are back!!" and I'm obsessed. She framed my face perfectly. I'm so glad to have found her business and will definitely come back when I need to get my brows cleaned again.

When I arrived for my appointment, Selene greeted me at the door and she was very good about following the COVID sanitary methods. Selene is amazing and her work is impeccable, you can tell that she truly took the time to perfect her craft because it really does show. I was so happy with the [painless] work she did on my brows that I raved about it for weeks due to the fact that the hairs actually grew back a lot slower this time, which impressed me so much because I usually have to go back to the beautician after 2 weeks, but this time I didn't need to reach out till the end of the following month. Sadly by that time, the beauticians in her area had to close again because of a spike in covid so I wasn't able to see her. My second experience was a few days ago (November 21st), I was happy to hear that she is open for business. She is currently ONLY providing her services from her home, which I didn't mind at all because it was nice to get outside and drive and its about a 30 minute drive, which isn't that bad. When I arrived to her home, she greeted me at the door and just like at her establishment she was following the COVID protocol and you could defiantly tell that she is very thorough when it comes disinfecting and providing a proper work space. Overall, both of my experiences have been wonderful and I plan on going to Selene for now on regarding any and all my waxing needs!

Selene was AMAZING because: 1) I texted her after work and she was able to squeeze me in that evening. 2) She uses hard wax. 3) I don't know if it's the wax or her technique (probably both!), but that was honestly painless. I actually don't understand how that's possible because it's been a loooong while since I've gotten a wax down there... and y'all know when you wait too long, it hurts like a mofo!! 4) The room was clean and comfortable. Not too hot or too cold, which randomly is something I always think about when getting any waxing done. 5) She was warm and welcoming and a great conversationalist! Overall, the best Brazilian experience I've had yet. I've finally found my go-to gal on the peninsula. I even gushed about her for a few minutes to my husband in the car lol.
