The 4 C's, what is important, what is not, the type of setting I was interested in, looked at several different stones under microscopes, etc. There was no guarantee of a sale at that point and Brett spent as much time with me as I wanted, just explaining all of my options. It was great, and after that, I felt 100% comfortable. I came back a second time to narrow down my options and again felt absolutely no pressure. When I finally made the purchase, I was confident I was getting a great diamond and a great ring. I got the ring appraised afterwards, and it was appraised for more than I purchased it. So to top it off, I got a great deal. The diamond sparkles and my fiance loves it. I highly, highly, recommend Kessler's. I drove from Chicago three times (upon a recommendation) to buy a ring there, and it was worth every minute.

These kinds of stores often have the type of jewelry I like--sterling silver, and with varying gemstones. Art Gecko has a lot of selection here, and they also have a stone of the week (when I was here, it was labradorite). Amber, garnet, ruby, peridot; you'll find it all here. So many rings, earrings, and pendants, and a really great range of sizes. I have big fingers, and there were a lot in my size. Many of the rings were also arranged in tray by size, so I could simply point to the size I wanted to look at rather than be disappointed that something I liked would barely fit my pinky. They also had some of the rings in trays by colors, and there was a tray just of labradorite ostensibly since it's the stone of the month. I didn't need to spend more money than I did. Having said that, I looked diligently to see if they had any bracelets, and their inventory was very very sparse there. I did see an amber bracelet, I think, and perhaps one or two more but not in a stone I liked. That's okay!

The people at Gruno's took their time while they worked on my watch to show me various items they had in stock, despite not being in the market for a purchase. Laurel and Meagan (hopefully spelling is correct) took their time to show me several watches across multiple styles and price ranges, as well as men's bracelets made from dinosaur bones (?!?) and gentlemen's knives. It's obvious to me that their customer service, attention to detail, and genuine kindness are the drivers for their business. I would not hesitate to return. Gruno's and their people are an exemplary reason why you should patronize local business rather than large chains. I look forward to the day when I will be in the market for a purchase -- whether that be for a watch, a gift, or an engagement ring; I know this is the first place I will go. Okay, would you please tell me how I am supposed to read your mind on this matter, or if this is the case, could you put a sign stating such a request?
