I was in NWA for a high-profile wedding. I added some extra backup shooters last minute and needed to supplement their gear and supplies - mostly some film made by Kodak, Ilford, Orwo, etc. Bedford had exactly what I needed. I'd like to see more film and more film cameras, and slightly better pricing on film, but overall a great asset for the area. read more

How does a guy from California end up buying camera equipment from a store in Arkansas? Well, I was having trouble locating a hot new Sigma lens anywhere in the country. I happened to see a YouTube review of the lens that Bedford had done so I decided to check them out. Not only did Bedford have the lens in stock, but they sent it to me by Priority Mail. I also placed a note in my web order asking them to call me when the lens shipped. They did just that. Will I be a return customer to Bedford? I sure will. First time in and I was disappointed with the service. They were nice but not helpful. Answering questions and assisting customers didn't seem to fit their job description.... The inventory was low and prices were high. This place needs more quality service if it intends to continue competing in the photography industry. The prints are decent quality but don't hold up to online print services. Quality and convenience beat rude and mediocre. read more

I would only shop here if you are happy w/customer service that makes you feel like you are bothering them or if you are an expert photographer who knows exactly what you are shopping for. If you throw caution to the wind and decide to shop here it is your responsibility to know exactly what your package includes or they will "accidentally" leave out several items that you've paid for or send you home with incompatible items (both happened to me....unreal!). Overall, as much as you want to shop local, in the case of Bedford's Fayetteville I'd say go ahead and give yourself permission to shop Amazon. You'll save yourself a bunch of frustration & be glad you did. read more

I was in dire need to convert an mp3 file to a DVD. It was a photo slideshow of a dear friend that I needed for his memorial service the next weekend and I couldn't find anyone else who could do it. I was getting desperate. I found Bedford on Google. Not only were they able to do it, but they were able to do it within a couple of hours, it was beautiful, and they didn't charge me anything because it was for a memorial service. Bedford Camera has impressed me with every single visit! Aaron and Bruce are especially knowledgable and kind and will do everything they can to get you taken care of. They sold me my Nikon D810, a speedlight, several extra batteries, memory cards, and lenses, and film, when I get around to shooting it. Bedford's is the only specialized camera shop in Northwest Arkansas, I think. The sales people are knowledgeable and helpful. Bedford's has the best selection of camera equipment in the area, by far. The problem is that their prices are very high. I was shocked at the price of some repairs and found that the going rate for this repair to be about twice the going price. When I protested the high price the sales rep said that they send their repairs out and this is the price. I want to shop local businesses, but their prices are very high. read more
