An amazing organization this is. I stumbled them upon Yelp and gave em a call when my clients told me they heard a baby kitten stuck in some bushes outside my work. Cynthia advised me to put out some water and food for him while she worked on gettiing someone over to check em out. one of the volunteers from their organization finally came and rescued him. It makes my heart smile knowing that there are people like Cynthia and this organization who helps these cats. Cynthia even updated & sent me pictures of the little one they rescued. I definitely support them and hope that little guy and the others find a loving home. read more

Regarding the one star post by Lili: The cat in question is a member of a managed colony. The cat did become ill, and Lili saved his life by taking him to the vet. Cynthia then took him in for his recovery. The decision to return him to his colony was made by me, the primary caretaker. Cynthia did what I asked her to do. To return or not return a cat to its colony is always a difficult situation. In this case I decided, with the support from other caretakers and feeders, and considerable thought, that the cat belongs in his colony. We have tried to assure Lili that the cat is safe and exceptionally well taken care of, to no avail. read more

Sadly I have to give the lowest rating to Cynthias rescue. I want to warn unsuspecting people who turn to Cynthia for help in critical situation (which happened to me), infatuated by her holistic angle and dedication to the animals, that ITS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS. Please do not get fooled by facade and follow my painful path which brought total collapse to rescuing the cat in critical condition. Cynthia after consulting with "animal communicators" decided that cat should be released back to the wild, although we were on the way to adopting them. Cynthia never consulted or asked me. She usurped the decision making and i guess the only courtesy i knew is that she informed me what she did. Painful, terrible experience. Beware!!!! read more

I had the best experience with the Bee Holistic cat rescue. I will forever be great full with Cynthia's service, she is a very passionate, sweet and caring person who loves cats and helps them in every way she can help them. She also made me feel sure about having my cat in good hands. She also checked in with me if my cat was feeling better and that's something very nice that not every person does. She truly cares about cats and does professional work. I really appreciate how much she has helped my cat. Bee Holistic Cat Rescue and Care is one of the most amazing animal rescues I've ever come across. I found them when I was looking around for some traps for the feral cats in my neighborhood. The cats at Bee Holistic are all treated holistically and great care is given to each one's physical and emotional needs. All the cats are indoor - outdoor so there is plenty for them to do to stay active and happy. Cynthia runs the rescue out of her home and has dedicated her life to taking care of cats. She has a huge heart and each cat is treated as her own until they are adopted. Even then, she's stays connected to make sure the transition has gone well. I have known Cynthia and her work with cats for years. She can heal cats who otherwise would have died, and understands feline emotions like no one else I know. I've seen it happen. Regarding Lili's negative post, I have the following response. I recommended Cynthia to Lili. Lili had removed him from the place he was living becasue she thought he was ill, and that the guy who cares for him was not taking proper care. She called me for advice. The cat in question sturned out to be chipped and registered to a woman , Lisa F., who is therefore the legal owner of the cat .(You can't just take someone else's cat, people!) This cat experienced multiple medical tests at PETS and no specific problem was ever diagnosed. Thousands were spent by Lili. A GO-fund me was s trted. After much talk among cat rescuers, and more discussion, it was a clear and shared decision by all except Lilli unfortunately that Socks should go back where he had been living. He is OK, seems ot be doing well. This does not make Cynthia evil or negligent. Far from it! I can still recommmend her for problems with cats 100%. She did thwart Lili's plans but there is a concensus those were unrealistic. read more

I adopted two kittens from Cynthia on February 8, 2019. On February 22, 2019, we learned that the older one tested positive for the feline leukemia virus. The younger one has a horrible eye infection and may be incubating the virus, and since he got it when he was under 16 weeks, he could die soon. Our vet said it was tragic and suggested I call animal control, but there is nothing they can do. I would recommend thinking carefully about taking a cat from her, even if she tells you it has tested negative for FelV (she does home tests). If you've never had the experience of having something you love die from a preventable disease, believe me, you don't want it. read more

Thank you Cynthia & Bee Holistic. This sweet woman LOVES cats and you can tell in her dedication to their health and happiness. I loved her comfortable cage-free home environment. I adopted a kitten, and she also gave me some books, resources and freshly homemade raw food for him, and when he was old enough she helped to get him neutered. She also kept in touch by email afterward to make sure he was doing well in his new home. read more

I am writing this review in reaction to the person's review who gave one star, stating that a cat (adopted from Bee Holistic Rescue by someone he knows) was FELV positive and transmitted the virus to the other cats and they all died. It doesn't make a lot of sense. This is hard to imagine that all of the other cats had died! If this really happened, why on earth the adopters did not let Cynthia know ? In addition, FELV (Feline Leukemia) is not a highly contagious virus as stated by this reviewer and as many people believe : cats over 3 years old usually don't contract this virus. As mentioned in all the other reviews, Cynthia is one of the best rescuer in the Bay Area. I have been in the bay area for 5 years and got to know and volunteered for several cat rescue groups and I can tell that Cynthia is the most caring, loving, dedicated woman. All the cats at Bee Holistic are treated with great care, holistically, physically and emotionally (cage-free environment). She keeps in touch to make sure the cat you adopt is doing well in his new home. She is always there to help if needed. I was very sad and upset to read this review which may be a 'troll' and I hope it will not discourage anyone to adopt from this amazing rescue. read more

This might be long but check it out. I called this place after finding them on google listed as an animal rescue and the lady who answered was rude. I told her that I wasn't sure if she can help me but you guys are listed as an animal rescue, is that what you guys are? She rudely told me "It's not US, it's just me" so I told her I picked up a stray cat that a neighbor abandoned and that I was able to grab the cat and wanted to take it to a shelter but that the Pinole shelter discontinued the night drop off so I didn't know what to do with the cat. She then told me, yea it's closed because it's fuc@$&!inhumane to leave a animal overnight, then added "excuse my language". She asked if I only had one cat, which I thought she was asking if that was the only cat, to which I told her, yes only 1 cat. She then told me she didn't have space for anymore cats, which is reasonable then told me to introduce this cat to my cat. I don't have a cat, so I told her thinking she misunderstood me that I don't have a cat, only this one I was trying to take to a shelter. She was so incredibly rude, telling me "you just said you had a cat" to which I responded, "I thought you meant if this cat I found was the only one I have" then she said "so you do have a cat", again I told her no, I don't own a cat, I'm trying to find a place to take this stray". She again aggressively said "do you have a cat or not?!" At that point I was frustrated and told her I didn't like her attitude, f&$! it, BYE! She called me back a few minutes later while I was on the line with Animal Control asking for help, and said "I'm sorry if my demeanor wasn't so pleasant, it's been a rough day" so I just hung up. She was rude, swearing, aggressive and if she wasn't able to help, I completely understand. She could have either referred me to another place or simply said, I can't help. I have rough days too, but I don't take it out on others. I don't know how her services are, but from our conversation, I wouldn't ever consider this place for anything again. If you are listed as an animal rescue, be a little nicer when someone calls. I've never done this before and wasn't sure what to ask for, so calm the hell down and have a better attitude lady. read more

I am a holistically minded person. I feed my pets a raw food diet, and see vets very infrequently. I don't believe a vaccination is the answer, and I do believe a healthy immune system is. When I was looking to find a playmate for my darling cat I happened upon Cynthia and her Holistic rescue. She is an amazing person, with a big heart. Not only did she have beautiful kittens but quite a few gorgeous grown up cats to choose from. I love that her cats are indoor-outdoor and that she encourages new adopters to do the same with the cats. No more having to promise (and breaking promises) that the cat will stay indoors. I think that should be a personal choice, not a mandate!! I am now the proud mommy of a 2nd, divine creature who is the happiest, most well adjusted new cat I have ever had. The adoption fee was nominal, and I got a whole starter kit, including a wonderful book with lots of helpful information. I can also call anytime with questions and she is more than happy to help. She also offered free boarding of my cats should I need it. Cynthia is the best!!! read more

I called Bee Holistic after reading all the fab reviews on yelp. We discovered a mother cat with 5 cute kittens in our backyard bushes. We are in no position to care for her & her litter therefore called them up. You can hear the genuine concern in Cynthia's voice & she told me make sure to feed them & give them water. She worked on getting someone out to us & kept me informed. She had Megan come the very next day! Megan was amazing! She strategically & successfully managed to capture all 5 kittens with a lot of hard work. She set a trap for the mother & hours later the cat managed to go in. Over the span of 12+ hours of this dedicated work, all kittens & mom were caught & now in greay hands. My family is very pleased that this work was taken care of in such a wonderful manner with hard work, dedication, and concern for the cat & kittens' well being. Great organization! read more

My child should have it so good like the cats in Bee Rescue's care! Cynthia, Ken, and their wonderful family of supporters and helpers provide the most individual, humane, loving, tailored care you could ever hope to see animals receive. I pray one day we will learn to treat our sick, old, homeless human brothers and sisters this beautifully. Many of the cats in their care are not adoptable by conventional standards and would not stand a chance in shelters. Bee Rescue cares for them come hell or high water, and makes every possible effort to find them not just homes, but homes where they will receive the love and attention they need. Cynthia adheres to very high standards of holistic care, natural diet (Well, Ok, it isn't mouse-based, but still damn good!), and western medicine when that is indicated. This is an oasis of compassion toward fellow beings that would make even St. Francis proud. read more

We recently adopted two kittens through Bee Holistic. We were steered there by our holistic vet. Cynthia provided us with lots of information. We got to spend relaxed time with the kittens before deciding what was the right match. Cynthia's process really made us think about what kind of life we wanted our cats to have and how to care for them - even though we have lived with cats for many years. We are very happy with the result and our two new housemates are very healthy and happy. read more
