I have seen so many vets in an attempt to figure out my dog's gut. I've been told I'm overreacting…read moreand that his various gut issues and skin issues (all related, I bet) could just be managed. I've also been referred for way more expensive procedures that I didn't think were necessary. Finally, we were referred to Dr. Richter. He listened to my dog's history, understood my thinking, told me it made sense, and told me he understood the pathway I wanted to take. For once, I wasn't automatically crazy or a "helicopter" pup parent. He really gets it. Dr. Richter had a very reasonable grasp on my dog's history and the reasons for his issues. I am so looking forward to continuing treatment with him in the coming months, focusing on the gut and on my dog's past mold exposure. I can't say enough about what it means to be truly heard and understood by a vet, and have them speak to you on a well-informed level. Dr. Richter is not only brilliant, he also has excellent people skills. Most vets try to talk down to me or put me in my place when I come with as much info as I do, and that gets me nowhere, just burning my bank account and morale. Thank you so much, Dr. Richter + clinic staff. You all make a huge difference in our lives and we could not be more grateful.

Found this updated post in my draft folder from a year ago or so. Oops. (Dedicated to Moo-Moo.)…read more Kitty showed improvement after just 2 visits. Our local vets didn't think it was possible. More key points I learned: (6) 50-60°F Cold compresses for 2 minutes, then (5) 105°F hot for 2 minutes. Start with cold & end with cold. This gets the blood moving in & out of the area. Warmth is inflammatory, that's why you need to start & end with cold. I bought a bunch of microwavable heat/cold pads. I would put the hot pads in a pot of hot water while using the cold pads to heat them back up. Make sure the urine stays clean looking (bladder emptied 2 or 3 times a day & antibiotics if an infection develops), the skin & genitals get cleaned & dried well to or not get a skin infection. Females - don't cross-contaminate by bringing feces bacteria to the genitals. Infection = sepsis Products I found helpful: cat waterless shampoo, A+D diaper rash ointment & skin protectant (vet recommended because no toxic zinc in it) , & Honey Pot anti-itch wipes.

Our dog fell off our bed and hurt his hip and started limping and couldn't sit anymore. It was so sad to see a dog that walked 2 miles daily starting to limp. We were worried about coming to see Dr Maeg bc our dog is a bit reactive and not good with new people. However, he loved Dr Maeg immediately. After his first visit his limp was gone and he could sit normally. After our second visit he was like new. We bring him regularly just bc his appts make him so happy. If I could give Shelah more than five stars, I would. She has become one of the most important…read morepeople in my dog Luna's life--and in mine. I stumbled across her Yelp page, which is filled with glowing reviews, and after working with her myself, I completely understand why. Luna and I have entered a new stage of life together. We are shifting our focus to the future, and I've realized how crucial it is to prioritize our long-term health, strength, and mobility. Just like people, dogs naturally experience physical changes and muscle loss as they age, which is exactly where Shelah's expertise has been invaluable. During our very first consultation, she noticed several subtle things that didn't seem quite right and encouraged me to follow up with our veterinarian. That recommendation led to a vet visit that ultimately revealed Luna was dealing with osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia. Because we caught both conditions early, we were able to develop a proactive treatment plan before they progressed further. I truly believe that, without Shelah, I wouldn't have recognized there was a problem until Luna was experiencing significant pain or mobility loss. We are currently 12 weeks into our 20-week program, and the results have been remarkable. Every exercise program is thoughtfully tailored to your dog's individual needs, physical condition, and goals. We meet in person every week, where she demonstrates each exercise, watches me perform them with Luna, provides feedback on my technique, and adjusts the program based on Luna's condition. What truly distinguishes Shelah is just how exceptionally thorough and detail-oriented she is in everything she does. She collaborates directly with our veterinary clinics, reviews medical records, and stays current on every aspect of Luna's health. After each session, she updates our client portal with that week's customized plan--complete with detailed instructions, photos, and videos--so I always know exactly what to do and never have to guess. Her professionalism, organization, and consistency are exceptional. Beyond her technical knowledge, Shelah is simply an incredible person. She is kind, patient, and genuinely invested in her clients. Luna absolutely goes crazy with excitement whenever Shelah arrives--her entire body wiggles, her tail goes into overdrive, and she can barely contain herself. Watching their relationship grow has become one of the highlights of my week. As a wonderful bonus, Shelah also offers canine massage therapy. Whenever time allows, Luna gets a therapeutic massage after our sessions. While it might sound like I'm simply spoiling her, it has actually been essential for relieving muscle tightness and supporting her mobility. Shelah is incredibly skilled at quickly identifying tension or discomfort. Today, Luna is stronger, fitter, more mobile, and carries herself with noticeably better posture and confidence. Seeing her move with such ease has been incredibly rewarding. We can't slow down time, but we can absolutely change how our dogs experience it--giving them the tools to thrive as they grow older. Having Shelah as part of Luna's integrative care team has given me immense peace of mind and helped me be proactive instead of reactive. If you love your dog, don't wait until mobility issues or pain become obvious. Invest in their health before major problems develop. Your dog will thank you, and your future self will be so grateful you started today.

I noticed improvements in their flexibility, strength, and overall demeanors. It's clear they looked forward to every visit, and so do I! If you're looking for someone who will treat your pet with care and professionalism, Shelah is the best in the business. Highly recommended for any furry family member!
