Bad work by the builder 20 years ago. Corrected the problem as was meticulous about proper venting on the new roof. Living on the wet coast, good venting and wind proof roofing is a must. Job Done. Don has also done some yard fencing. He works with us. Is honest and direct about costs. He stays on task and gets the job done, which in experience with other contractors, is not always the case.

Sometimes I have had to call several times to get a response, and then weeks go by before someone actually comes out. Each person who comes out has a different idea about the leaks. They do not seem to talk to one another or to review the photos or other evidence other workers have collected. They do assure me that it's fixed and they do bill me. The billing is fast. I suspect someone calls when they have nothing else going. I realize this review makes me look gullible and stupid. That's my excuse. But the roof still leaks.

They replaced the wooden shingles on the south side of my house in 2009, & now I will soon need the rest of the roof done (it's about 40 years old, & would have gone longer, but I didn't get oil on the shingles as often as I should have...). I have been calling Solum since late April, & finally have given up. Each call is about the same: "Oh, he's out, I'll have him call you." This from someone who answers the phone with "Hello.", no introduction or indication that it's a business at all. Same person, but never an apology, nor explanation as to why they don't return calls. (He's out? Does he have a cell phone??). Repeated messages left on their machine have likewise never been returned. I've given up on Solum Roofing, & it's likely too late to get on a schedule with someone else this summer. Two different contractors I've asked said they use Beeline (George Brue III). They were able to fit me on the schedule right away. The custom railing and stairs look amazing! They also installed our huge heavy professional grade hoop and all the poles and netting. In addition, they fixed my fence, poured rock around the perimeter of the court for a more finished look and built a custom steel over for the fireplace vent on the side of my house. My yard was always clean and they informed me of their coming and going. We couldn't be happier! We would definitely hire them again!
