Crap work, late everyday, too expensive, bad attitude , gives you one price then it changes halfway through the job

I wanted to write a good review. The woman I spoke to was kind and funny and informative. They couldn't get me in for a week but put me on the schedule and gave me good information about how to find out who our installer was. When the service call came due the tech was polite, arrived on time and didn't blink at our animals. He was here for less than 30 minutes and told me that he couldn't find anything wrong with the furnace and after bypassing the thermostat he was able to get the fan to come on. I asked if he had a thermostat he could test with but very specifically told him that I didn't want to buy a thermostat today. I explained that we have a smart house, we want to pick out our own thermostat. He was able to test the system with the same model of thermostat we currently have and the heat came on. Yay! We know what's wrong! Despite what I told him prior, he still tried to sell me the thermostat he installed for $450. Remember I said it was the same model? I looked it up. Now I had already spent $150 for pretty much nothing, if the manual for the furnace had been available anywhere at all online I would have been able to diagnose it myself. The Honeywell TH8320R1003 retails on Amazon for $115 https://a.co/d/a8exBX8 When I went looking for the most expensive price anywhere, I found a place that's ripping people off $260. They wanted to charge us $600 for 30 minutes worth of work and a $120 part. read more

Ron and Brett are the only folks to talk to on the northern Oregon coast for HVAC or fireplaces. Coast Heating & Cooling replaced an ancient oil system for a new HVAC when we first moved here 6 years ago. A couple of years in, we had a tiny freon leak and Ron worked to isolate the problem and fixed it under warranty. Two years ago, we purchased a fireplace with all the home automation features. Hit a snag with one piece of the electronics, but they replaced and everything is working great now. read more

We needed Ron's help again recently. The circuit board on our furnace stopped working. We called Coast heating and cooling, keeping our fingers crossed that they could fit us in, as it was pretty cold weather. They were wonderful again and came out to us and replaced the circuit board. Coast Heating and Cooling returns calls, keeps appointments and takes pride in their work, which is done for a reasonable price. The owner, Ron Jabber, has been in the business for decades. I had them out to maintain my furnace and fireplaces. They found a crack in the flue piping as well as an issue with the fireplace valve, both of which were potential safety concerns. We worked out a plan to address the problems, which involved replacing a water heater that was no longer functioning, installing new flue piping and replacing a fireplace valve. They coordinated the work of removing the old water heater, installing a new one, handling the plumbing, electrical and other piping as well as obtaining permits. It was all done in a single day, and passed inspection. It might not seem like a big deal for a company to do what they say they are going to do and take pride in their work. But my experience is that companys like this are rare. read more

I am so glad we found this company. Our furnace was not working right and they came over and were very professional and knowledgable and super effiencient and had the problem fixed and they are very reasonably priced. They are now our family's go to when something goes wrong with our furnace or if we need any heating or cooling service work done. They are the best that we found. Ron was fantastic. i called him after the not very precise company that last serviced my furnace gave me the run around and messed up both appointments they set for me leaving me in the cold for days. Ron clearly knew what he was doing. Ron diagnosed the differences in my older furnace from newer furnaces ignitions, diagnosed and fixed the problem appropriately in 30 minutes, and charged me a ridiculously low amount compared to what the other company did for the two previous visits and repairs. Last night our heat pump stopped working. It is February and the house became cold quickly. I called Ron this morning and tonight my husband and I are in a warm house. Reasons I will always call Coast Heating and Cooling: Ron was here before the appointment time, our job took longer than expected as the necessary part was across town. Really great experience with these guys...about as opposite as you can get from Diamond (who was a nightmare to work with). These guys did a great job installing both our range hood as well as the new vent to the outside, and were in and out in 3 hours as promised. Along with being nice human beings, they made sure and checked with us to get it installed at the height we wanted, kept their tools on a piece of cardboard AND vacuumed up afterwards (which not all contractors we've had by have bothered to do). Furthermore, it was super easy getting them scheduled in to take care of this and Rachel on the phone was on top of things and very pleasant. Ron is very professional at what he does. We wanted a heating cooling system installed and to move our existing heating system from the closet to the attic, this was not an easy task. I needed other custom work because the age of the home. Ron will tell you what is available to get the best comfort and will work with you throughout the whole process, and will also keep in touch after install. I am so happy with the system that he designed! I do not even hear the unit because the fan motor is variable speed. We are so comfortable! Plus, he installed a filter vent in every room for health reason and also damper controls in every flex tube so that each room can be adjusted before the air hits the register in each room. He explained it very well. Prices are very fair. He answered his phone almost every time and if not he gets back to you quickly. We appreciated his hard work and mostly more important results.
