Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

They all wanted us to take huge low interest loans to buy a lower quality system than what we got with Smart Solar Energy. Smart Solar Energy allowed is to choose the equipment we wanted at no extra cost, and the overall cost was less than half what many others were trying to sell us. The install was delayed by a day because of illness then some paperwork wasn't left requiring a few extra days during install, but other than that they were great to work with and I highly recommend Smart Solar Energy.

We contracted in two phases, the first to "reduce our load" by replacing an aged heat pump and adding a minisplit so that my wife could have separate control in the bedroom. Then we replaced two electric water heaters with one hybrid on his recommendation. Our electric bills plummeted. This was all done quickly and professionally as determined by availability of parts. Prices were reasonable and as problems were encountered he showed a willingness to share some costs. ... While the first phase was going on, Stan worked with me to design our solar power system. We settled on a ground-mounted array of 30 panels on net with distributed inverters. This is not the type of system they usually do but Stan showed great flexibility and willingness to work with me. Once we had a design, I sent it to a group of solar folks who did a previous system for us in another area. They reviewed the specs and replied "Looks good!" ... It took a long time to get the system up and operational, mostly because of permitting and inspection issues associated with our ground-mounted option. (If we had gone to a roof mounted system, permitting would have been faster but there would have been other types of problems.) Now, it's up and going, the meter is "spinning backwards" and I'm a satisfied customer. ... Stan can be a bit quirky, but so am I. I found that he answers texts more regularly than phone calls. His guys are courteous and friendly and Jacks of all trades. They leave the jobsite in decent order. ... It was a big, complex, expensive project (even with the considerable price reduction we were given) but in the end, I'm glad to have had it done by Precision Heating & Solar.

The project manager in 2008 was absolutely awful. Poor communication and someone quit so my project got pushed to no-man zone- no one was taking care of my project or communicating clearly about what was going on. I didn't write a review in 2008 because I was upset about the process. However, eight years later, the install is absolutely fantastic and the product has held up really well. Our house was built in the late 1960's. Which means that the outlet plugs and other components that were installed back then (over 50 years ago) have become brittle. Jostle them a bit and they can fracture. This happened to the circuit for the room on the other side of the Battery install. Apparently they jostled the wires running to one of those outlets and it fractured it, disabling that circuit. It being a guestroom, we didn't notice it right away. When we did, Elemental did not hesitate to step up. I would use Elemental Energy again if I needed any of their services in the future.

A and R sent their sales person to our house and he got right to work. He went into our crawl space under the roof to make sure our roof was properly supported for the panels. That was a relief as the other place wanted to send a structural engineer to do that very simple job and charge us for it. Ridiculous. Our project was two years, so the crew may be slightly different, but they were great. When there was an issue, like that we didn't have electrical grounding, they just put in grounding bars. Amazing! They offer production guarantees which is rare for a solar company, like those ones that come door to door. lol A and R was professional, easy to work with and easy to communicate with. They were great to work with and took care of all the permit stuff. Now on sunny days we feel great watching our power meter running backward! Our system easily generates 3000 watts on sunny days, They even found an inverter that will give solar electricity during a power outage. We can log onto our inverter through our computer and watch the power generation data over time. Cant recommend these folks enough.

Which is ran by one individual working out of his home. They fire employees at midnight with emails, let employees go by just erasing their email and logins, make up reasons like I don't like her, etc. Most reviews, including the person who will respond to this review saying I'm a disgruntle employee are fake and written by employees and their families. They have no idea what they are doing with battery installs or any system that does not involve cheap APS micro inverters. They will sell you one thing and then install a different thing. Multiple customers have been screwed by Unity swapping panels and not letting them know. When you try and call, you will not get an answer if you have a complaint. If you want electrical work or a solar array from a company that does not care about you at all and when your project is done they are on to the next with zero accountability or customer service, choose Unity.
