The Secret's Out: Why Evergreen Bread & Cocktail Lounge is Our Forever Favorite…read moreFor a few years now, my wife and I have considered this place our little "under-the-radar" sanctuary. But let's be honest--when a spot is this good, a secret stays a secret for about as long as a fresh loaf of their bread lasts on a table. (Which is to say: not long at all.) Here is why Evergreen Bread & Cocktail Lounge remains our absolute go-to: * The Vibe: The atmosphere strikes that perfect, rare balance between sophisticated and soulful. Whether you're there for a quiet morning reflective coffee or a lively evening drink, the ambiance just works. * The Bread (Oh, The Bread!): It's the undisputed star of the show. It's consistent, artisanal, and frankly, addictive. If you haven't tried it yet, consider this your formal intervention. * More Than Just a Bakery: They consistently turn out dishes that are as thoughtful as they are delicious. From the first bite to the last sip of coffee, you can tell the kitchen actually cares. * The People: A restaurant can have great decor, but it's the staff that gives it a heart. The team here couldn't be warmer or more attentive; they make you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. The Verdict? If you're looking for a spot that nails the transition from "morning bakery bliss" to "evening lounge elegance," this is it. We're already counting down the days until our next visit. Highly recommended--just don't be surprised if you have to fight us for a seat!

Showed up around 9:30 on a Saturday and waited maybe 20 minutes which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how popular this place has become. I was also shocked they still had almost everything available by the time I got inside. I'm not going to pretend I know the names of every pastry I grabbed, but every single thing was excellent. The first thing you notice is the lamination. You can immediately tell these people know what they're doing. Beautiful layers, super buttery, crisp without becoming dry or messy. Just really well made pastries. Flavor wise everything felt balanced too. Rich but not heavy. Sweet without feeling overwhelming. You can absolutely understand why this place keeps getting national attention. Definitely worth making the drive to Parker for.

They tell you almost immediately what is in a pastry that you are ordering. The desserts did not disappoint. Although this time, I only ordered a few, cutting them in half to share. They are very rich. I know I can ask, but with a line behind you, one tends to forget or does not want to keep the others waiting....but a short blurb on the receipt on how the item should be kept / served would be fantastic. If you have not had an opportunity to stop in, do it. You will see why it is ranked one of the best bakeries in the United States.

I grew up in the bay area on San Francisco Sourdough in the 60s, 70s and 80s. It was the best you…read morecould get. I went away for 20 years and returned to my beloved San Francisco, only to find the bakeries that had the best sourdough are now gone. Boudini's is the big name now but it is a far cry from the sourdough I grew up on. Even the extra sour is not close. I was sad for years thinking great sourdough was just a sweet memory. But Saturday, I made my way to Grateful bread and bought on of their loafs of sourdough. I got home and thought I would try a taste of it. OMG! My Genuine San Francisco sourdough is back !!! I am so happy now. I was just going to have one slice but I have already had 5 slices and it isnt even meal time yet. It takes all my strength to hold back from getting piece number 6. I want to say thank you Grateful Bread for making a product like it used to be made. No short cuts or inferior product to cut costs, just good honest bread. Also got your white bread and hamburger buns, so very good! Next time I will buy other breads to that were recommended by the great people waiting outside with me. Definitely want to try the Rosemary sea salt sourdough and the almond croissants, they say are to die for. It is 40 miles round trip from my home so I will have to try to keep it down to every other week. Needless to say, I highly recommend Grateful Bread Company.
