Very cute pastry shop in Evergreen by a creek. Serene vibes! All pastries I took a look at were homemade. I ordered an apple pastry and one filled with chocolate. They were quite pricey and I was taken aback by my total but went for it anyways. Just be prepared for like $5-$6/pastry. Both pastries were delicious but the chocolate pastry was my absolute favorite! Wished I bought another. Service was fine. I do not appreciate the lack of human decency from the older lady that was working during the time of our visit. My husband had got sick unfortunately and he had thrown up in the bathroom. My husband is extremely kind and thoughtful and doesn't enjoy making trouble for anyone. He had spent over thirty minutes trying to clean it up as best as he could. He took so long that other workers and our friends started getting worried about him. The workers there offered to clean up the rest and disinfect the restroom. As we try to leave to get out of the way, the older lady working decided to be snarky at my husband, asked him why isn't he staying to clean and disinfect things. Not an ounce of sympathy was given. My husband had apologized and yet was treated this way. It's unacceptable and definitely not appreciated. read more

Yet another place we stopped by on a whim! This is an adorable bakery nestled in the shops of Evergreen, CO. Upon walking inside it's very evident that everything is made from scratch and with love. We had a donut and a cookie. The donut was delicious! The recipe tasted unique and it was not dry after having been baked hours earlier. It tasted fresh! However, the cookie was hard, and dry. Not really our style. This being said, many other offerings here looked delicious and we would definitely stop by again for a donut (but NOT for a cookie). I recently got 2 dozen gluten-free cupcakes of theirs for a birthday party. The buttercream icing was good, but the cake itself was terrible. It was completely dry and tasteless. I wouldn't have minded if they hadn't cost $135 for 24 cupcakes. That's almost $6 each for something that was borderline uneatable. While I really like their normal baked goods, their GF items so bad they shouldn't even sell them much less at a premium price. read more

Giving 1 star because the donuts are insanely good, but the lady who waited on us was so rude and the prices were outrageous. The credit card machine wasn't working so she said to me - "I hope you have cash." In not the nicest tone. I luckily did. But when I realized my $20 would barely cover six donuts I was flabbergasted. We know expensive, but that's just insane. We have a small mom&pop shop in our neighborhood with homemade pastries and donuts who have the same kinds of costs she does - they're selling donuts with a line out of the door for $15/dozen. I got half that for $5 more with a nasty attitude from what I believe to be the owner. Too bad. They would have a line around the block, I bet, if this woman was nice and they brought their prices down a bit - perhaps sell 1/2 dozen for the price of 5. When I showed my shock at the prices, the lady helping us just started complaining about her own costs. I'm a small business owner myself and have felt the pain of rising prices. But I would never treat a customer like she did. It was if she was doing us a favor by even showing up to work that day. I would have gladly paid without doing a negative yelp review if she had just been kind and welcoming. But her behavior was so off-putting, I felt like we were in a Seinfeld episode. If you go, just know you'll pay a fortune for a wonderful product and be treated rudely. read more

We were fishing along the river and weren't having much luck, so we decided to be spontaneous and walk down a little further. What to my wandering eyes should appear...this place! It's tucked back a little off the street, so you don't see it if you're not looking! We decided to get a scone and an apple turnover and OH MY GOODNESS! They were both delicious. I used this bakery that is owned by the nicest couple to do my wedding cake and donuts for the wedding. They were so nice to work with, very responsive and truly did everything to make my wedding day go as smooth as possible! Robert and Rebecca did a really great job on the cake and if you have never tried their donuts...well you will be addicted after one bite!! I loved how they bake the cakes the day of (or the evening before) and cooked the donuts just a couple of hours before the wedding. Highly recommend this bakery!!! Holy heck! Alpine Pastries has the best donuts I've ever eaten! They are so soft and just the right amount of sweetness! We ordered our wedding cake through Robert at Alpine Pastries. The process was very smooth and easy. We asked for a small, 2-tiered wedding cake (decorated simply with flowers) and 4 additional small cakes for our guests to choose from. They were all decorated beautifully to match the theme of our "Colorado mountain" wedding and they were absolutely DELICIOUS. The carrot cake is to die for and the various chocolate cakes are amazing. As soon as I made the order I knew that Robert and his wife would take care of the rest! So there I was, walkin' the dog by the lake. I see a little sign for a bakery up the road a little bit. Being gluten free, I realized that there's probably nothing for me in there, but my dude, however, loves a good cookie. So, I tethered up the pup and headed in. This place took me back. WAY BACK. Nothing pretentious about this place inside. A few cases displaying a dizzying array of cookies, chocolates, and donuts. I arrived after the danishes and chocolate chip cookies were sold out, but I still had a lot to choose from. The place isn't super well lit, which kind of adds to the nostalgic ambiance of it. You can see right into the back kitchen, which was well organized and spotless. Piles of butter were coming to room temp on the counter. Whisks were hung on the walls, and the people who worked there were so calm, kind, and helpful. What you think of when you picture a happy baker. I ended up with a meringue for me, a couple donuts, and a shortbread-y chocolate cookie for my dude. The meringue was wonderful, and Evan really enjoyed what I bought him--even though what I got wasn't typically what he would order, he reported that they were baked well and tasted delicious! read more

And now the bar is set so dang high, I don't think I will ever FULLY enjoy another donut again. One star for special orders. I ordered a carrot cake and apple pie. $85!! The baker boastfully described the ingredients of the carrot cake and the cream cheese frosting filling. The cake looked like it came from a box mix, a thin layer of cream cheese frosting, and tasteless butter cream. The pie was $28, there is no way this was a fresh, made to order apple pie. The pie looked and tasted like a mass manufactured store bought pie. Expected more, very disappointed. Feel ripped off! So much for shopping locally. read more
