Central to many access points, including the T Green C line, Fenway ballpark (easy 1.5 mile walk), Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, the Massachusetts Fine Arts museum, several restaurant of great quality (I especially loved the Tatte Bakery!) and a grocery store about .5 mile away (Star market). An HMart is coming soon about a block away. All safe walking. Lively walkable neighborhood and only minutes by foot or T to the great American history of Boston. The hosts were very knowledgeable and super cordial. What a pleasure! We take our hats off to you!

Everything reasonable was really far outside of Boston, but then we stumbled across Anthony's Townhouse online. It is right in the heart of everything. You are extremely close to all the sights and restaurants. All of their rooms are extremely spacious with very big closets. Each one has its own unique decor. The whole place is extremely clean and housekeeping comes every morning. There is a fridge, microwave and bathroom on each floor. The owners are the most helpful people ever! They helped us find parking, get our T passes and even went through the map with us. There is a T stop right outside their house so you can take it everywhere downtown! I loved not having to take the truck anywhere. There are a few restaurants right across the street. There is also a whole foods. You cannot beat the price and location!! We will definitely be coming back to stay again.

Location (5/5) quiet tree lined residential street only 5 minute walk from Stop and Shop. Lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle of Boston street traffic and yet have east access to everything. Checking In/Out: (4/5) good information through emails, no contact, instructions/key were in an individual envelope on the front door. Simple as long as you don't need to speak to anybody about any issues. I stayed on the 3rd floor. Stairs are narrow and have a rail on one side. Dropbox on the 2nd floor for checkout. If you need parking, request it at the time of booking as it is limited onsite. Continental breakfast: (3/5): available for two hours in the morning on the 2nd floor, including coffee, orange juice, little muffins, bagels, boiled eggs, yogurt, packaged oatmeal. The Captain's Room: (4/5) Spacious with 4 post queen bed, vintage wooden upholstered chair, large dresser with large mirror, two nightstands, overhead light with ceiling fan, closet with mini fridge, TV, free WiFi. It shares a bathroom down the hall with one other room. Bathroom is small but clean with good hot water pressure and a convenient sink-side table for your toiletries--free shampoo, conditioner, soap. Creaky wooden floors in room, carpet in hallway. Earplugs offered on nightstand in case you're a light sleeper. Cleaning service available daily though I only requested it for checkout. Thermostat in hallway, not in individual rooms. Fortunately it was a cool weekend, not too humid. Though I never saw any staff, the place is clean and hospitable and I would stay again, maybe next time in a room with an en-suite bathroom. Overall a pleasant stay and exactly what I expected!

I knew parking would be tough & expensive ($36 a night) must reserve in advance. We ended up parking on the street, the Inn provided a Pass so no issues other than covered in dust from construction going on. We were able to move to a designated spot in the alley the next day. Very tight so leave the big SUV, monster trucks at home. We had a medium size SUV, live in DC area and expect it. Check-in was fairly smooth. Our request for a bottom floor was honored (thankfully) as carrying suitcases up that staircase would have been difficult. So if any physical problems/difficulties with stairs or tight places you may want to look elsewhere. Our room was spacious, with two huge comfortable beds and an enormous TV mounted on wall. The room was clean and the temp was cool even with it being over a 100 outside our whole visit. The bathroom was adequate, with a single sink, not a big fan of the tub/shower as I felt like I was taking a shower in a sandwich bag, but water was hot & cold when needed. We slept well and did not hear much noise from outside or from within as we were in the back of the house. Breakfast was as describe - Grab & go, as there is not much space. Coffee/fruit/and muffins/croissants were out everyday. The Staff was super friendly & helpful, had several conversations with the housekeeper. She was awesome. The best part was location. We walked to Fenway (about 15 mins) also it is located right on the train line (2 min walk) which we used to get around. Boston is an expensive city and parking is limited so $$$ if thinking of driving everywhere. There are several restaurants within walking distance and a H-Mart which made the wife happy. Best price for location and in a Boston neighborhood so you get the full experience, just be prepared for an older building with older building issues. We would stay again if we return to Boston to see what we missed in this amazing city.

I'd recommend it to anyone who needs somewhere to stay in Boston whilst on business or visiting a friend. Highly praised in Time Out's guide to Boston, this Fenway brownstone house did not disappoint at all. The interior is lovingly kept in original 19 century decor and Florence has an amazing collection of dolls as well as a whole room for her shoes and hats. At 80 dollars a night it was a bargain for a truly special room that could well have been in a museum. The bathroom was hip with a great toilet, and it was conveniently close to several T stops. The real gem though was Ms Frances, who was truly charming and had quite amazing stories. She has flags for every guest to show their nationality, and of the 50 or so flags she owns she's been to pretty much every country - including Iran. An introduction to her hat collection is quite a treat too. What a life she has led! She even had a free guest pass for me for the Museum of Fine Arts.
