From the moment we stepped through the doors of The Godfrey Hotel Boston, everyone was so nice and welcoming. Our plane was delayed, and we were running late for a tour. The woman at the front desk gladly took our luggage and allowed us to head out to our tour without having to worry about it. When we returned, our luggage was quickly brought to us, and we made our way upstairs. The room was very nice and comfortable. My only complaint was that it was a little noisy, but that was from the street traffic below throughout our entire stay, so it really wasn't anything the hotel could control. What really stood out was the staff. Every single person we encountered was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We received two complimentary bottles of water each day, along with snacks in the room. There were also tea and snacks available downstairs every day, which my daughter absolutely loved! After we checked out, I realized I had accidentally left something in the safe. I called the hotel, and Diamond helped me right away. She was extremely sweet, kind, and helpful, and I truly appreciated how quickly she took care of everything. I would absolutely recommend The Godfrey Hotel Boston to anyone visiting Boston. This hotel is awesome! It's the perfect location. There is the train station super close, basically walking distance to everything. 5-10 min to the gardens, 15-20 min to north end, Quincy market areas. Less than 5 min to the train station to connect you all over! Wig Shop speakeasy, restaurants, etc all within the same block. They have a nice lobby, which a coffee shop and full service Asian/sushi restaurant attached called Ruka. We did eat there and it was very good. They have a small lobby bar as well. The room was super cozy and stocked with waters and snacks. Shower and bathroom were great, nice water pressure. They will restock your waters daily and on our floor where was a flavored and vitamin water dispenser! Awesome!! I can't recommend this hotel enough... it was a great price - more affordable than anything in the area. The amenities in the hotel and location were absolutely the best things about it! read more

LOVE this hotel! It's centrally located near Boston Common and the theatre. There are a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The thing that impressed me most were all the little touches that surprised me at every turn and made it so fun to be a guest here! *There's complimentary lemonade by the check in desk. I think it's there all day as I always see it no matter what time it is. *When you enter the elevator, the rug changes to say "Good Morning" or "Good Evening" depending on the time of day. I can't help but say good morning back to the elevator. Hahaha *There are a basket of complimentary snacks (chips like doritos, sun chips, etc. and cookies like Oreos, grandma's cookies, and trail mix) and bottles of water in your room that get refilled everyday, and if you need more, just ask. *In the evening, there's a cart by the elevator with treats that you can pick up on your way back to your room. One day was bags of fresh popcorn, another day was a selection of candies. *There's water refill stations in the gym and the 2nd floor - but they're not just any ordinary water station. It's called "bevi" and you can customize your water with different flavors like Tropical Melon Mist, grapefruit, watermelon, or peach mango (the second floor water station had different flavors), and you can even press the button to add "vitamin boost (vitamin C, zinc, vitamin d, and some other ones) or just plain water. The room itself is spacious, clean, and the beds are comfy. Cozy slippers and robes are available for you to use in the closet. There's a little fridge in the room, but no microwave, so if you wanted to heat something up, you're out of luck. When booking the hotel for this trip, my friend and I had a hard time finding a room with 2 beds, so I think 2 bed rooms are rare in Boston, so we really lucked out with this one. The staff is super nice and helpful, even the valet people are constantly opening the doors for us to go in and out. I can't recommend this place enough! Where do I even start? This hotel was exceptional from check-in to check-out. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a great stay. Our room was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully stocked with plenty of snacks and water. While it didn't include a fridge or microwave, both were available upon request. We purchased tickets that required printed tickets and one call to guest services and they were printed. Just amazing! In the evenings, the hotel offered a fun selection of complimentary treats like hot cocoa, iced tea, popcorn, lemonade, and a candy bar--such a nice touch. It's also conveniently connected to great dining options (Raku and George Howell coffee), making it easy to grab a meal or coffee without stepping outside, especially in bad weather. There's a bar on-site as well, and the drinks were fantastic. Terrell, our bartender, stood out for his friendliness, attentiveness, and skill. The hotel was consistently clean, and the staff were quick to accommodate any request. The location is another big plus, with easy access to nearby attractions by Uber, walking, or subway--no car needed. I highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again. Pretty nice hotel in a convenient location walkable to most of the tourist sites! The subway is close by too. The valet/doormen were very nice every time we went in/out of the hotel and they offered us umbrellas when it was raining (altho it seems they do occasionally run out of them we got lucky and nabbed some from people returning). There was often water or sweet drinks in the lobby and occasionally there were sweet treats as well like candies. We were given drink tickets for using in the lobby bar but tbh the times it was open were inconvenient for us so we never tried it out. The beds are a little too soft for my liking but it is what it is. Everything was very clean. The included snacks in room were a nice touch. No fridge but bottled water was provided. Towels are a bit thin but typical of hotel towels. Honestly not too loud where we stayed, maybe even on the quieter side, altho I think there was the faint occasional rumble of the subway or the train it's easy to sleep through. The tv reception kept going out but we were only really using it between activities to relax so it's not a huge deal. Overall a nice experience. read more

Came here with my husband for valentines weekend and it was amazing! The men at the door held the door open for us always and the front desk staff was so nice, we even got a free upgrade to a suite! The lobby had things changing around throughout the day for example when we first got there they were offering free juice and then later that night it was a hot cocoa bar and the next day there was a cute valentines cart. I really appreciate little things like that, it's the cutest thing ever! The room itself was beautiful and came with complimentary snacks and water. Very clean and spacious as well. Nice view from the hotel. My ONLY complaint which I think is specific to me is that the mattress is too soft compared to what I'm used to so I didn't get good sleep but I think that depends on the person so I'm not taking away a star. There is a cafe AND a restaurant on the first floor so lots of convenience. You're also only a block away from the Boston Commons and close to everything so location wise this is great! read more

The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made a big difference from the start--they even opened the door for us whenever we arrived or left, which was such a nice touch. After checking out, we had a later flight, and they kindly let us store our luggage while we explored more of the city--super convenient. The hotel also had some thoughtful extras, like water machines with free sparkling and flavored water, hot cocoa, and even vouchers for a complimentary mocktail at the bar, which we really appreciated. They claimed that Hyundai & Kia's couldn't be left for pick up on the street for early morning pick-up for "security" reasons (before 6:30am). We were forced find public parking the night before our travel (they failed to mention this key detail about Hyundai &Kia when we first arrived and CONFIRMED the arrangement was possible during our check-in 3 days prior). So, when we looked out our hotel room window at 4:30am the next morning.....guess what was parked on the street? A Hyundai! Unacceptable. read more

5 Stars for the perfect location, super friendly staff, and adjoining coffee shop and restaurant that are both pretty great. I was in Boston for a few nights and my husband booked the Godfrey Hotel, having stayed prior. When I say it's the perfect location, I mean that I was able to walk to Boston Commons in under 2 minutes, as well as a myriad of restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, etc. I spent a ton of time exploring the area and felt so lucky to be so well situated for those journeys. I even had the chance to shop at a tiny old bookshop and a corner shop and take my book and food over to the park for an amazing picnic. The room was great. It was clean and secure, with modern amenities. I really appreciated that there is a coffee shop connected to the hotel lobby, as I was able to work from there for a day and then go to the other side of the lobby and grab food at a chic Peruvian restaurant (Ruka). It was super convenient. In terms of the staff, everyone was tremendously friendly. From the folks at the front desk, who gave me water bottles and had more delivered to my room whenever I needed, to the gentlemen holding the front doors open every time a guest came in or out. Smiling faces throughout! I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking to explore downtown Boston. read more

We just got home from our Boston trip and the location of the Godfrey couldn't be better! Right in the middle of everything, super walkable and very nice staff. It was our wedding anniversary and they were very kind by leaving some champagne, chocolates and a very nice card for us in the room. Seriously the only reason it's not a 5 star was the "resort fee". I'm sorry but a couple bicycles that look like decoration isn't really worth 40$ fee per day. Don't let that scare you away as it is a very nice stay just be prepared to spend extra per day than the booking. read more

Great location. Loved the overnight parking/valet option (Daily fee). The valet staff throughout our experiences was kind, welcoming and prompt. The smell in the lobby was enjoyable, and the room was great for my family. Our TV cut out occasionally, and had LED light burn out/discoloration issues for the 3 days we stayed. We informed the front desk staff, and they said they were having trouble with the TVs. Be aware that you'll be charged a "resort fee" each day you're there (which provided snacks and water bottles in the room daily; other services were available, but we never used them), and there is no mini-fridge in rooms, which bothered me in such a higher quality hotel. If I return to Boston, I would use this hotel again, but would investigate and use the "resort" fee options so I felt I get my money's worth. read more

This is the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Boston. I come to Boston once a month for business. Moving forward I will only book with this hotel. It is a great location in downtown Boston. The service from the staff was warm and friendly. They accommodated anything I needed and they went above and beyond. When I arrive there was a bottle of wine waiting for me complimentary. All the snacks and water was included and refilled every day. One of the most comfy beds I've slept in and that's really important to me. Omg where do I start?!?! We booked our stay at the Godfrey because it was affordable and in the city but it exceeded all of our expectations! First, It was pouring rain outside so they let us check in early, which was a pleasant surprise! Everyone was so so sweet and welcoming. Room- Our room was 10/10 gorgeous! The views were beautiful, the bed was soooo comfy and the complimentary snacks/drinks were a very nice touch. You can even ask for things like extra towels or blankets through the TV. Technology am I right? The bed was so comfy that we slept through fireworks, sirens, a loud thunderstorm and our alarms. Laying in bed sipping complimentary coffee while watching the view was so incredibly refreshing and needed. Location- The hotel is right next to the Boston Commons and the Freedom Trail. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. It's right near all of the sights, food and shopping. There was this amazing bakery (Bova's) in the North End that we walked to everyday for cannolis. Highly recommend that! But the hotel is right near everything! So convenient! We can't thank the Godfrey enough for everything. We will 100% be back! read more

We stayed at the Godfrey during our vacation to Boston, amazing location! We decided not to rent a vehicle because we planned to do all of our walking in downtown Boston and take the subway! It was such a convenient hotel, there was a coffee shop downstairs and also a bar, lots of bars all around us. 5 Stars for the location! The room was great; awesome view of downtown. The bathroom was really modern, housekeeping was amazing. AND, all of the water, coffee & snacks were included!!! WHAT. So we definitely took advantage of that, it was sooo nice not having to worry about paying $8.00 for chips! The front desk were folks were extremely accommodating and attentive. They even have people opening the front doors of the entrance, I dont think we ever had to push open the doors for ourselves to be honest! 5 stars for the staff! Unfortunately- the only downside is, I didnt get to take much pictures but please know that its an amazing hotel for our first time experience in Boston & we will definitely be back! read more

On a recent trip to Boston to surprise a good friend, I needed a place to stay last minute, since my original accommodations canceled. Luckily, I was able to find a room at the Godfrey. I arrived pretty late, but the front desk was aware and greeted me upon my arrival. I had a rental car with me and I found the $52 a night valet charge to be a little ridiculous, especially since the first night I was there the valet was done for the evening so I ended up just parking my car on the street. As for the room, it was quite small, but it did the job for a place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were not scratchy. I enjoyed that they provided a complementary basket of snacks. I was not a fan of the shower not having a door because the water ended up everywhere. Additionally, I was there during an unseasonably cold streak, and the thermostats were locked, and the temperature could not be adjusted. All in all, for the price and the location, I can see why they get away with charging what they do. But I would definitely expect a larger room with more amenities for the price. read more

So rare that you find a this level of execution in the hotel industry. For starts, the staff are ALL very warm, nice and highly professional. So impressed from the door to the housekeeping to the front desk, everyone made you feel like you were an important guest. The hotel itself is clean, nicely appointed.Bed was comfortable, bathroom fully functional and easy to use if typically small as city hotels tend to be. We really enjoyed out 1 day/night at the Godfrey and recommend it completely. I frequently stay at The Godfrey in Boston. It's in a central location, very walkable neighborhood with easy access to subway lines. The staff is always helpful and attentive. During winter time they often have a complimentary hot chocolate bar at the front desk. The rooms are spacious with large desk area that is perfect for remote working. We had a wonderful experience at The Godfrey. They were so accommodating, which was such a relief after traveling with an infant. It was lovely to settle down in The Godfrey's executive King room after toting around a baby and so much luggage. They loaded up all our luggage, valeted our car, opened the door for us and our stroller every single time, gave us free snacks and unlimited bottles of water, were always helpful at the front desk and more. They also provided complimentary umbrellas, sanitizing wipes, really cute bicycles, and featured UV disinfecting lights. Also, gotta love those self-closing soft-shut bathroom doors! George Howell Coffee is attached to the hotel, which was convenient and a great cafe! We were really looking forward to going to Ruka, a Japanese-Peruvian restaurant in the hotel, but were so disappointed that the hours were not updated online, and they ended up being closed the night we were there. I really enjoyed my stay at the Godfrey. The staff were very patient and tentative. The building is located pretty much right off the Freedom Trail so there's so much to see within walking distance. They do also have bikes you can borrow if there are some available. Due to it's prime location, valeting my car was difficult as it's hard to even get staff there but that not really their fault. The bar downstairs was very nicely stocked and the bartender himself provided top notch service. There's also a George Howell coffee nextdoor with some excellent drinks. I had a few gripes about my room but management was extremely responsive in helping me fix it. They made my stay very memorable and I would definitely come here again. read more

No, no, and no. Beds are comfortable, that's about it. There's literally no lobby to relax in and the "luxury" in this hotel is nonexistent. The supposedly lobby bar is a tiny little odd area in the dark small space they call the lobby. Everything is small. Small elevators, small rooms, small lobby...no cool vibe at all. The coffee shop there is the coolest place in the hotel and the coffee wasn't even that great. When in Boston again I will absolutely stay back in the waterfront...NOT Godfrey. For sure. read more

This was kind of a blessing in disguise. A disaster (not a real life disaster), happened and we didn't have the booking we originally thought we had at another hotel. In absolute panic mode we stumbled across the Godfrey Hotel Boston. Simply put, wow! This hotel is really amazing. Elegant rooms and firendly staff made our stay everything we hoped it could be and more. Great central location in the heart of Boston near historic landmarks, shopping and dining. Nice views from the rooms and spacious enough for the 4 of us. Really we couldn't have asked for anything more. Maybe one small ask, the bathroom door was a slide open and close as opposed to a normal pull open and close that actually latches in a closed position. Would have preferred a more traditional bathroom door since we shared the room with the kids. But, outside of that, couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to stay in the downtown area. read more
