What an amazing surprise to find such elaborate and well-designed escape rooms. We did all four…read moreover the course of a week during a two-week drive around central California. Everyone at Margarita was super nice, and you could tell that everyone involved with the escape room were hardcore enthusiasts. Rita's is their stand-alone, which was a lot of fun and was challenging but not frustratingly so. Definitely can do it with two people with minimal to no hints. Renegade is where they really bring it in terms of design and puzzles. We escaped Retrofit but needed help, and Episodes 2 and 3 were very challenging (we did not escape). Having a third or fourth person would have helped. I can't say much without spoiling anything, but they definitely put their love into this one. It is the same set for all three chapters, but certain elements are only active depending on which episode you're playing. But if you hate lock heavy rooms then this one is for you. I think just about every puzzle you solve leads to the next one without ever having to spin numbers or letters on a lock. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping off here. Plenty of parking and there's Ancient Peaks wine tasting room with a menu across the street. Or The Range or The Porch not too far up the road.

The weather was a bit foggy so we couldn't really see the rock anyway. We had the Burrata appetizer, along with the local oysters on the half shelf. We also had the salmon dish and the lobster linguine. I'd say out of all of that the Burrata was the best part. The servers were nice and joined in our silly jokes and were very accommodating to our seven year old daughter (who also had the salmon. I did not see a kids menu). We are staying at the Ascot Suites hotel, so we walked a block or so to get there. Very quick walk. There's no parking at the restaurant but you can basically park along any joining street. The lighting and ambiance was quite nice and relaxing. Great for an after Disneyland experience like we had.

The lady that sat us was delightful, and our server "Trina" was fantastic. We were in no hurry, and she was as equally accommodating. The Lobster Bisque was so yummy! For our entrées we had the halibut and the pork chop. Perfectly prepared with delicious sides. After watching the sun go down and completing dinner, we finished with the chocolate raspberry ganache. This was our first time here, but it definitely won't be our last! It was so relaxing to watch the pelicans, otters, and sea lions play in the harbor while we ate.

I wish I had asked names, so that I could shout them out! There was also parking right in front, with no line, which was convenient. I wanted something fried, but when I saw that they use canola oil, I decided to go with the salmon tacos instead. Salmon isn't exactly a local fish, but it's usually a safe bet, especially when it's fresh frozen. I got the salmon tacos, which came as two tacos on two tortillas. The salmon was topped with a little cabbage and tomato, melted cheese, and what seemed to be some onion and cilantro. They also included a small serving of salsa. Overall, they were decent, but not the best salmon tacos I've had. One thing that was a little annoying was that some of the salmon had the dark "bloodline" still attached. I usually scrape that off because I find that part of the fish more bitter and strongly flavored. That's especially awkward with tacos because you're trying to remove it from pieces of fish that are already in the taco. I've had salmon tacos elsewhere where that part had been trimmed off, so there was nothing to deal with. No bones, though. The tacos were a little pricey at just over $20 with tax, but you're in a tourist area and it's California, so that wasn't exactly surprising. They made for a decent meal, and sitting outside was pleasant.

He even called to cancel the reservation- super planned and thoughtful Would definitely book with Jed again if in the area.
