Made a reservation in advance and came here with family for a dinner and thought overall it was a good experience. There's no dedicated parking but there's plenty of street parking around the area. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building with windows facing the ocean, so the name was very fitting. A lot of the seats allowed guests a nice view of the outside/ocean. We were able to get a window seat and was able to enjoy a nice sunset view and take lots of photos by their balcony area. We ordered the halibut, black cod, cioppino, dungeness crab cake, mixed greens and all the dishes were all decent but I can't say I was blown away by any of them. The dishes were on the pricier side as well. Overall the service was good and they were attentive with checking in on us and refilling the water. The only surprising thing about the place was that there was an additional 3% fee on credit card transactions which they apparently indicate on their menu (which I missed), and the waiter didn't mention either, so I was taken back when I saw it on the bill. While I understand they're trying to offset their costs, it is pretty rare these days and I wish the waiter gave us a heads up. Overall, the view was great and the food was decent.

Windows on the Water in Morro Bay nails the fundamentals of a great evening out. The views are perfect, and the second story setup with the big windows is a smart, fun feature, especially at sunset, when the whole room benefits from the light over the bay. Food was universally above average across what we ordered. The fish was cooked well, and the chowder was a clear step up from standard. Our one disappointment on the menu side was that the already small, focused list was missing a few items we'd specifically wanted to try. The real issue of the night was the wait. Over 30 minutes for bread, and well over an hour for a meatball appetizer. We're not sure if that was a one off problem or something more systemic, but it was significant enough to become a defining feature of the evening. The front of house staff was understanding and clearly doing what they could, which helped, but it doesn't fully make up for service that slow. Not bad enough to keep us from coming back, the property, the food, and the views are worth it, but the kitchen pacing needs real attention.

This place had so much potential to be a phenomenal experience! My husband and I came here for our anniversary, and had high expectations especially because of the raving reviews. We made a reservation for 7pm, and didn't actually eat until 9:30pm. The server didn't offer to refill our drinks or water that we had obviously finished by the time our food came out. The actual main part of the dishes were incredible, we got duck and pork loin and they were cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. They told my husband when he booked the reservation they would provide a complimentary dessert (didn't request, they insisted), and he had to ask about it since it was overlooked. The view was gorgeous while it lasted, but if you're there after the sunsets there's nothing to see, so I'd recommend coming around 5pm for dinner or for lunch instead.

We made a reservation for windows on the water for our anniversary. We requested a window seat and we received the window seat. Service was amazing. Very welcoming very good atmosphere amazing views with amazing food. Everything was top-tier very great experience.

Good food and service, but the real reason to come is the expansive views of the bay and 'the rock.' The ambiance is somewhat dated but perfectly pleasant. We came in without reservations and were told there were no tables even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Perhaps they were just gating the restaurant. Whatever. We sat in the bar area where the full menu is available. The drinks and the food were good, service was even better.

Giovanni's came highly recommended, and it didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the Halibut Burrito (generous servings of halibut, cabbage, salsa), grilled fish by the piece (perfect for some added protein), halibut tacos (satisfying and filling), garlic fries (a group favorite). Giovanni's also has a fish market storefront that sells seafood by the pound (Dungeness, oysters, crab claws, crab meat, prawns, poke, ceviche). But lunch and dinner orders are done at the side window and are picked up around the corner. Located on the waterfront in Morro Bay, there is tons of outdoor seating (with umbrellas) with relaxing bay views. Parking can be difficult to find. We eventually found street parking.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

When we entered the dog-friendly patio with our little Goldendoodle, Bailey, a large dog seated at the table closest to the only patio entrance lunged toward her and bared its teeth. Since it was the only way in and out, I let the staff know I was concerned. They immediately spoke with the owners, who moved their dogs farther under the table, and after our meal, the owner's father went above and beyond by opening the rope barriers so we could exit another way and avoid walking past them again. Both the father and son were incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating, which we really appreciated. Once we were settled, we were able to enjoy the beautiful patio. It's a quaint waterfront spot with gorgeous views, a relaxing atmosphere, and the perfect setting to enjoy fresh seafood. Bailey was promptly brought a complimentary bowl of water, and we loved seeing so many other well-behaved dogs enjoying the patio. It's easy to see why this restaurant has such a great reputation for being dog friendly. We ordered the King Salmon Quesadilla special, and it was absolutely delicious. It was packed with generous portions of fresh salmon, plenty of melted cheese, and vegetables, and it was more than enough for my mom and me to share. My brother also really enjoyed the tri-tip sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and was served hot. While we wish the aggressive dogs had been seated somewhere other than the only entrance to the patio, that wasn't the restaurant's fault, and they handled the situation as well as they could.
