    The view from our table

This place had so much potential to be a phenomenal experience! My husband and I came here for our anniversary, and had high expectations especially because of the raving reviews. We made a reservation for 7pm, and didn't actually eat until 9:30pm. The server didn't offer to refill our drinks or water that we had obviously finished by the time our food came out. The actual main part of the dishes were incredible, we got duck and pork loin and they were cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. They told my husband when he booked the reservation they would provide a complimentary dessert (didn't request, they insisted), and he had to ask about it since it was overlooked. The view was gorgeous while it lasted, but if you're there after the sunsets there's nothing to see, so I'd recommend coming around 5pm for dinner or for lunch instead.

We called in a reservation for 7pm and requested a window table. We got a window table, but unfortunately it wasn't face the morro rock. Perhaps it was due to time of reservation. The weather was a bit foggy so we couldn't really see the rock anyway. We had the Burrata appetizer, along with the local oysters on the half shelf. We also had the salmon dish and the lobster linguine. I'd say out of all of that the Burrata was the best part. The servers were nice and joined in our silly jokes and were very accommodating to our seven year old daughter (who also had the salmon. I did not see a kids menu). We are staying at the Ascot Suites hotel, so we walked a block or so to get there. Very quick walk. There's no parking at the restaurant but you can basically park along any joining street. The lighting and ambiance was quite nice and relaxing. Great for an after Disneyland experience like we had.

Good food and service, but the real reason to come is the expansive views of the bay and 'the rock.' The ambiance is somewhat dated but perfectly pleasant. We came in without reservations and were told there were no tables even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Perhaps they were just gating the restaurant. Whatever. We sat in the bar area where the full menu is available. The drinks and the food were good, service was even better.

This restaurant was just amazing. Staff greeted up immediately and views of the water were in every direction. Our waitress came by and told us the specials. Waters were kept filled and service was impeccable. I had the sand dabs which I had never had or even heard of on a menu. My daughter had the steak. The food was so good. The sand dabs were white, flakey fish. Almost melted in your mouth. We finished the meal with the ganache. It was excellent. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

Staff was very friendly and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking! Food is excellent and delicious! Highly recommend not skipping dessert!

Had a wonderful time dining here for dinner this past weekend. Ambience was nice as we sat by the window. We started off with a burrata & it was delicious! As for our main course, I ordered the scallop dish & scallops were cooked to perfection however, the seasoning of the entire dish was a bit salty for my liking otherwise, flavorful. Husband ordered pasta & he enjoyed it. We ordered a bottle of red wine & it paired so well with our dish. I just wish there was a sommelier who had knowledge about wines & that could've recommended one for us bc our server & other servers had zero knowledge about their wine list which I thought was odd. Husband had to guess which one to order & luckily, we picked the right one for us! Our server overall was pleasant & nice.

I have made reservations for 5 o'clock, but a play we were at ran over. So I called the restaurant and told him we wouldn't get there till like 5:30 and Paul said no problem. Laura was our server and she made recommendations and was just the right amount of being attentive. I was looking forward to The Halibut but they were all out. My girlfriend had the White Wine flight and said she liked all the wines. I had 2 Old Fashions, which were pretty good. The husbands were the designated drivers, so drank water. My husband and I both had the Bread service and the Salmon, which was just right. I do love black rice and goes well with Salmon. My girlfriend had the clam and shrimp linguine and said it was good, she was the only one that had leftovers. I forgot what her husband had. She and her husband and my husband and I both ordered the crème brûlée, it was excellent and a little bit of fruit with it. We had a nice view of the harbor and it was a gorgeous night.

Panoramic view of the Morro Bay rock in the dining room. Watched a sunset while we were dining there. Enjoyed the wasabi-induced crabcake, Bouillon styled chowder (not thick enough compared to the NE variety), and the very fresh seafood Cioppino. The crème brûlée was also authentic and creamy.

Us enjoying dinner. We opted to have one of their wine flights, which was great.

We chose the Galley because we wanted steamed clams and were delighted by the choice. For a local place it was hopping! On a Wednesday. When we got there at 6pm there was a 30 minute wait. Luckily a spot at the cozy bar opened and we pounced. The bartender took our order shortly after we sat down and we didn't waste any time ordering clams. They came out quickly and were steeped in the most delicious broth, which we slopped up with soft pieces of bread. Will come back for these for sure. We were still a bit peckish so we ordered crab cakes. They were ok but we wouldn't order them again, had they been hotter may have made a difference. Next time maybe we'll get a window seat to be able to enjoy the view as well as the sumptious dinner.

He took my number down and said he would call in about an hour when to come back. I purposely made my phone super loud so i would hear the call when the table was going to be ready. More than an hour passed so we walked back to check our place in line. He tried to say that he called 20 min ago but he said couldn't remember why it didn't go through and couldn't even come up with an excuse lol. I rechecked the number he wrote down which was correct. I had my partner call me and she had no problem. He promised us the next available seat. Another party after us literally went through the same thing as us where he claimed that he called but I'm sure he didn't. We got seated right away after so I'm glad we came back to check! Our server (i forgot her name but she had blonde hair) made up for it since she was super delightful! Aside from that i was looking for her to tell her it was my partners birthday but i only saw him. I asked if he could tell my server for me and he said yeah! They can put a candle on the dessert we order. He asked me what dessert but i didn't know what the options were yet so he said he would just tell my server anyway and we can pick. Lo and behold, no candle lol. That guy sucks

Ordered cheeseburger with potatoes. Salad was "mixed greens" so I didn't order a salad. Next time I will get their wedge salad, but I didn't know if I could finish it with the burger and potatoes this time. Server said no fries or chicken strips becasue they don't have a fryer. Free refills for sodas, but only a little bit of ice. It was a bit syrupy and had a lack of carbonation, might have been Pepsi instead of Coke. Steak knife included with utensils, which came in handy because the burger was really slippery and I had to eat with a knife and fork!! Potatoes looked overcooked but that was because they are purple potatoes!! They tasted ok, luckily not too spicy like everything is these days. I liked the non-purple potato's texture better. Slow to refill my drink. I will come here again and have the wedge salad, from the pic it looks smaller than I expected this time around so it will be able to be eaten with a burger!!

Our order consisted of Drinks : A Lemon Drop (4/5 - the question here was if the cocktail actually contained alcohol. We were assured it did, but the drink was replaced non-the-less. The replacement tasted the same ‍..."our bad", but Kate didn't charge us for either!). A Sandy Beach (5/5 - ya...this cocktail is outstanding!) and a Big Sur IPA (5/5). We were greeted immediately by a very friendly waitress, who set us up at a table for eight with a spectacular view of Morro Rock in the back bay. My husband and I had been here for hors d'oeuvres before, so we had scoped out the menu. I knew whatever I had should involve some coconut shrimp. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc while we contemplated the menu. One couple of our party ordered pasta with shrimp or pasta with salmon. My husband got the grilled chipotle salmon, and a couple of us got the captain's plate which had a big assortment of fried coconut shrimp, calamari, and fish on a bed of fries. It's the most spectacular view on the coast and it is perfectly set up as a happy hour hors d'oeuvre bar. There's a long bar, many different sized tables and even an outdoor area with tables on the porch. The food might be kind of standard fair but it's well done and it's very generous portions. The bartenders very skilled at making drinks. The server even suggested a honeybee martini which sounded very tempting, but most of us stuck to wine. The servings are very generous. The food is crisp and succulent seafood. The extravagant chipotle salmon was a little bit spicy, but well cook cooked throughout with delicate rice under it. Several people in this group have a prodigious sweet tooth, so we perused the desert menu after the meal. One couple got the triple berry tart, while my husband and I split the cheesecake. As a former New Yorker, I have high standards for cheesecake and this was a good B+ effort. It could've benefited from some caramel sauce or maybe more fruit on it. It was the perfect place to gather, to share lots of jokes and fun!

The restaurant has tremendously fine views of the bay and has additional parking for non guests. The Fish n chips was very good with the fish in contention for the best I've ever consumed. The fries were prepared with the upmost craft. Regrettable, the Cole slaw was a miss... dry. The shrimp tacos and the beans were also favored but, like the previous dish, the rice was also in need of moisture. The Steak Frites was the highlight of the table and a must order. The deserts were both fantastic but the Apple Cobbler was to die for. If you traveled 100 miles only to order the cobbler... it would be worth your time. Clearly there was a master chef behind the scenes wielding magic. Being the first night at the Inn, the Inn seems to be a hidden gem of Morro Bay. I would recommend venturing to this peaceful refuge.

Seemed really small. Next time I'd skip the dipped chocolate. This didnt really do any favors to the ice cream, and tasted more like the oil they use than chocolate

Every once and again a Fosters will appear on our radar and be the perfect solution to a hungry question. Instantly we can recall the first time we saw a Fosters employee take a soft serve vanilla cone, turn in upside down and plunge it in to a vat of melted chocolate before presenting you with your first "chocolate dipped cone". Magic! We now see another sort of magic happening as these long held traditional burger joints start fading away. Each Fosters tries to bring its own personality into the mix and it can turn into something special, as it has with this Morro Bay location. We arrived, parked at the curb outside and immediately noticed the sidewalk chalk art. Arrows individually drawn with Fosters treats and playful characters in bright colors, directing customers to the order window and a hopscotch for playing whilst you await your treats! The dining room also looks newer compared to other Fosters we've seen, and its cleanliness was very inviting. Hubs ordered 2 hot dogs and a small Pepsi. Simple. $11.77 TL. While, that made the small(aka baby sized 6oz, maybe?) Pepsi a whopping $3, it was a cheap, simple and delicious enough meal for him to be satisfied. In Morro Bay, along the Embarcadero, we later noticed a walk up window charging $7 for a single hot dog. While eating, we noticed a dad & daughter sit down with their food. Shortly after, she knocked over her Dr. Pepper. Dad jumped to ask for paper towels to clean, but staff came out promptly, cleaned it up and replaced her drink. Noice! Note: no refills on sodas is offered, but that's no reason to punish a kid that already feels bad. Well done, staff! Everyone worked fast and efficiently and the place had personality! Lots of options for eats and treats if you enjoy convenience foods. Even some swag to purchase I understand that are well known for their burgers and fries but, thanks to another Yelper's photo, I juuust may come back and try their limited time offering of Triple Berry Cheesecake Twister. There may not be one single real berry in the dessert, but all that delicious sugar sure looks tempting! LOL Cheers! "CC"
