Classic Flight: $20/person for 5 pours (fee waived with every $30 purchase). Rustic, family owned and operated winery, just down the street from our hotel (Hotel Calle Joaquin). Stopped in at the end of the day for a final tasting. We were the only customers there, and the original owner's granddaughter poured for us. She had very interesting stories of the family's history, and we even got to meet her mother & father, the second generation owners of this winery. The wines we tasted ranged from a crisp Chardonnay, a slightly oaked Viognier, to a cool-climate Syrah. The property was originally a cow and dairy farm, and the old barn is still there. The tasting room has some cool "artifacts" like the cattle branding iron, which is also on the labels of the wines. There's a pleasant outdoor patio next to the tasting room, and we were told that they also have an area back in a small canyon where they host weddings and other events. Filipponi Ranch is a nice, little diversion when you're traveling through the area. It's located right off the 101. Definitely worth checking them out.

This is one of our fave smaller and quaint tasting rooms! Family owned and they are so sweet. We have been here twice and each encounter has been pleasant and fun. Today we had a glass of the Tre Sorelle and it was fresh and crisp. Definitely recommend checking this place out that's not too crowded, great wine and allows a chance to strike up a conversation with the owners. Very personable!

    Charcuterie Plate ($25)

My husband and I came here the day after we got married, and we loved the winery atmosphere. It is a small, family-owned winery. We had the privilege to meet one of the daughters who ran the place, Dana (hopefully I spelled that right). This is our first winery together, so we asked a lot questions to Dana. We can easily said that we were well-educated about winery LOL What we liked about the winery was the peaceful vibe. It wasn't in a busy area, and we felt relaxed while enjoying the wines. The cost to do wine tasting was $20/person for 5 different wine (2 whites, 3 reds) we ordered a charcuterie plate. It wasn't too fancy or anything, but it was needed for me. I believe we paid $25. When you arrive there, you are welcome to sit anywhere (indoor/outdoor). They will come to you and serve the wine when you are ready for the next one.

I came here for wine tasting with my boyfriend on a Sunday afternoon, no reservation was needed and we just walked in and they were able to help us! The atmosphere is very relaxed here and perfect for a relaxing date activity. There was indoor bar standing room available as well as outdoor seating. We tried the $20 wine tasting flight of 5 wines and all wines were very tasty. We bought a bottle which waived one tasting fee. They also had a Cabernet Sauvignon library wine tasting available, so we tried that as well and that too was tasty! Overall, it's a very welcoming place and would recommend visiting at least once! Parking was easy and available in a small parking lot in front of the ranch.

Absolutely stunning wedding and venue , now let's talk about the wine !! I'm not a big fan of wine I usually get headaches from it but my husband insisted I try the Albariño wine , oh I bet he regrets that decision !! Yes thank you very much I'll take a case home , I love it !! It's not too sweet with a subtle dry and grape flavor. If you're looking for a venue for a wedding look no further this place is gorgeous with outstanding customer service.

What a great little spot off Hwy 101. The original Swiss-Italian family settled here and bought the land in the early 1900's as a dairy farm. It now serves as a tasting room for the wine they make. Such sweet and personable people with a great story to tell. Worth the stop as they also sell some charcuterie plates to have with your wine. Cheers win!!!

Amazing wine, great service and very friendly owners. They ran out of charcuterie plates but yet came up with options for our four hungry kids . Our favorite wines were Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Great spot !

Very peaceful and relaxing. There was plenty of outdoor space and it's all covered by a tarp, so it's not too dusty and there is lots of shade. We were helped by Julie, who was extremely nice and told us about the property and its history. She was very welcoming and didn't make us feel rushed. Easy parking and very reasonably priced. I would definitely return and highly recommend for a lazy relaxed afternoon!

The grounds are amazing and the best part was seeing a ton of peacocks roaming around. Unfortunately, on my visit none of them were fanning their feathers. Hopefully next time! They also have an Air BnB on site that you can stay at. It looked really nice! There's plenty of seating in the courtyard area and you're allowed to bring your own food. We just came for a flight tasting, which is only $20 here. The nice part about the flight is that you also have the option to try ciders. They give you casino like chips here to use for each tasting. Great way to keep track! The reason for the three star rating is the lack of customer service. When I go to a winery, I expect the person pouring the wine to explain each one that I'm tasting. There was no explanation at all. Maybe I should of asked, but it was odd for a winery not to do that. The gentleman that poured didn't look too happy to be there either. I cringed each time I had to walk up to get my next pour. He barely said two words to me and I just got the feeling he was mad or upset about something. I wish I would have gotten his name! The girl that helped in the beginning was kind, but she also never explained each pour. Just a weird interaction overall. Would I return here? Yes! I loved the grounds and the peacocks. The wine was decent and I would like to try the ciders next time, but I'll probably go inside the store where they were also pouring wines. Hopefully they know what they're doing! Overall, a great spot to check out and next time I will make it a point to ask for a description of each pour even though I shouldn't have to.

The grapes they used in some of the wines were from the vines right next to us. Oscar and Clint were very helpful and provided a lot of insight on the area. We went to a couple of their recommendations in town and they did not miss. This vineyard is a solid place if you want to sip on some good wine with a view. Our group have easily visited 250+ wineries and many of those we visited several times. We easily qualify as experts in the area of wine tasting. Based on our visit to Biddle Ranch as well as reviews I read the venue does not put an emphasis on hospitality. Our server (not educator) was nice but she seems to not care. Not care about selling wine, promoting or educating us about their wine and frankly or likes or dislikes. This behavior was repeated with other customers she was serving that day. If we are having a great time we reciprocate with numerous wine purchases and a generous tip. We only purchased the minimum to wave our tasting fees and could only justify the very minimum of gratuity. I truly hope management reads this post and invests time in better training their employees. We are in the area often and would love to have a spot to sip some wine before dinner. Based on this visit, I don't think so!
