I was excited to try this place because I was craving a healthy rice bowl. When I came in, I ordered the steak bowl that was pictured on the online menu. The staff seemed unsure of what I was referring to, and I got the impression they may have been new. Another employee stepped in to help, which I appreciated. However, I noticed that I was charged more than the price listed on the online menu. The rice bowl itself was delicious. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and it didn't have that generic corporate chain flavor. The steak was tender, the sauce paired really well, and I especially enjoyed the corn in the bowl. Beehive Kitchen has been a staple for many recent trips to Fort Lauderdale as a healthy choice while traveling. This was my first time ordering delivery, and the food quality was more mixed than in the past. Not wanting a huge bowl, I ordered a kids choose your own with almond crusted chicken, garlic roasted broccoli, and a chocolate chip cookie, plus a mushroom soup. The mushroom soup was the best thing I ordered, followed by the cookie. Unfortunately, the chicken was extremely dry. The broccoli was just okay. Their menu seemed to offer some great options that were on the healthier side and looked like they had some flavor to them. I loved that they offered one of the $12 lunch deals and opted for their picadillo bowl with extra plantains while my bf went with a BYO steak burrito. The delivery process was seamless and when it hit our door, the food was still hot! I was taken aback by the portions. The burrito was massive and my bowl was filled with picadillo. They didn't skimp! My boyfriend said that his burrito was tasty but it was a little dry. But once he added some sauce that we had on-hand, he didn't have any complaints. My bowl was tasty, I would have loved a bit more 'kick' to the flavor but it was truly a steal as far as the $12 price and came with dessert. I have visited occasionally over the years, and unfortunately it does not seem to be functioning like it use to. It was not busy, only a couple patrons inside. As someone posted a month ago, the staff seemed unsure of the menu. I ordered a bowl that has been on the above head menu since opening. They asked me for a paper menu to look it up, so I explained the components. Then they charged me for a bow $3 more expensive. I didn't realize until I looked at the text receipt before I left the store. They weren't sure what to do and definitely didn't seem happy about it and called for someone else to assist. The staff member seemed unsure still. I offered to take a beverage from the cooler, but she said no, that they were worth more, but I could have a soda fountain one. No apologies for the overcharge. The bowl tasted good in the end, the reason for 3 stars. I recommend checking your charges before paying, as other reviews have stated. read more

Service and food outstanding! I ordered the engaging young lady's favorites: steak bowl with couscous, sweet potatoes, and glasss noodles. She asked me what I liked and provided a sample. The noodles and steak were delicious. What a great choice! I took it to go and it was still warm. The meat was seasoned and tender as well as the sweet potatoes, couscous and the noodles. I was forcing myself to not waste a drop; it was their size small and It was too much for me. I can't imagine how long it would take to eat a large. I made my own bowl, choosing quinoa and kale salad for the base, corn and sweet potatoes, salmon and tofu, onions and guac, with the fresh herb dressing and roasted pepper sauce. This is not just a vegetarian restaurant. They have other animal proteins on their menu. This is by far the best vegan option establishment I have ever dined in. I love all of the options and the ability to build our own meals. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. I approached the counter and ordered a small build your own bowl which consists of 2 bases (Jasmine rice & cranberry almond kale salad), 1 veggie (roasted sweet potato), 1 protein (bbq chicken), and 1 sauce & add-on (N/A). I also got a flan for dessert and a fountain drink. The food was really good and thoroughly enjoyable. The rice was cooked to a soft consistency. The chicken was tender & flavorful. The kale salad was fresh and crisp with a light lemony flavor. The sweet potatoes had a soft caramelized texture which brought out its natural sweetness. Being a bit full from the meal, I only took a few bites of the dulce de leche flan which was rich and smooth. I look forward to coming back and trying another build your own bowl meal as well as their juices. For my base I got the noodles they come chilled, and for my proteins, I decided on the herb, roasted chicken and maple salmon. The salmon ended up being an up charge. When I used to work closer to this location, the Beehive was a regular lunch stop for me. So when I had the opportunity to get lunch to go recently and I was in the neighborhood, I knew where I was headed!. There is plenty of seating, but this place can get quite busy during the heart of lunchtime. I love a bowl place and I found the options they had here to be a little different from some of the other establishments like this around town. I went with the classic bowl- sweet potato glass noodles and the kale salad as my bases- I had the broccoli and the Mexican corn for my veggies and my protein I did bbq chicken and bbq pork. I got some guacamole on top. The final drizzle of bbq sauce on top was the icing on the cake. When we got there the line was about 6 people deep but we got through very quickly.
