Slow service and bad coffee. Paid $17 for a smoothie and a latte. It took over 20 mins and they were not busy. My latte tasted like American coffee with milk. I had asked for honey and cinnamon and received neither. The smoothie was fine but for $17 these items were subpar. Maybe they forgot about my order because a person walked in and ordered food and received his order before I received mine. This food is delicious. I'm not vegan (and the whole menu isn't vegan) but have dietary restrictions so I tend to lean that way. Vegan food can be hit or miss, but it was definitely a hit here! I got the vegan burger which was better than a regular burger to be honest. I also had a smoothie, the crave, and they allowed all the substitutions I needed and it was delicious. I honestly wish I lived closer to come back again. But if I'm ever in the area, I will definitely be coming back for another burger. They also have some little desserts they outsource which were vegan and delicious as well. After quick call to make sure they had that option, we went here. It was conveniently located on the way to the highway since most of us were heading back home towards Broward. Its in the plaza behind the Barnes and Noble next to a hotel. There's designated parking specifically for the customers of the plaza versus the hotel guests. Easy to spot with a lot of outdoor and indoor seating, this small but mighty biz has a ton of options with food, juices, smoothies, and even snacks. They have a very extensive menu and the staff is extremely friendly. After perusing the menu for a bit, my friends and I got all different smoothies. One of my friends got the PB&J, the other got the Elevate smoothie, and I got the Chocofruit without the strawberries but added vanilla protein. The smoothies were pretty good but definitely not my fav smoothies of all time. My favorite out of the three was probably the PB&J. Years ago, I was a regular. I have probably had the entire menu and I loved it but after a three year hiatus. I will probably not be coming back. I remember paying nine dollars for this same smoothie not $15 and I know that this smoothie also used to taste better because it is a smoothie I used to have almost every day. So not only have prices been hiked significantly, but if Just on the smoothie, the food quality went down I'm scared to check the rest of the menu. I just don't think it's worth the price. I drive this place daily bc I go to the nearby gym. Decided to give it a go knowing they have açaí bowls. Location is great and it's not crowded or overly busy. Nice place to go and have breakfast with yourself. I had a spinach empanada and a small açaí bowl. Living in Miami, one knows that there are empanadas on just about every corner-- what a blessing My empanada math wasn't mathing when I saw that each empanada is $7 lol. I still pulled the trigger bc these are my faves, but, I couldn't get past that thought lol. The açaí bowl was good. Didn't bring peanut or almond butter-- I also didn't ask for it, but that would have been a nice touch. I got the smallest one, 8oz and this was $9. This math also did not math-- let it slide lol. Their mission about serving organic and whole food is what aligns with me, however, considering their prices, I don't find it feasible for many people to attain this type of lifestyle (topic for another day lol). The workers are truly so nice and friendly. I'll be going back bc their food is good and they have some weekday lunch days that seemed appetizing. I wanted to introduce her to try my favorite dessert smoothie. This smoothie contains bananas, dates, vanilla bean, almond butter, cinnamon, cacao, and almond milk for $8.00. It is thick, rich, and very filling. It is delicious! It'll satisfy any sweet tooth craving. I highly recommend it. I had not been here since the new ownership, but as we were paying I remembered that if you checked in through Yelp, you get 20% off your order. I checked in and there it was! I showed the cashier and she had no idea what that was, so she takes my phone to the owner and in Spanish he tells me that he had no idea about the promo, that it's a mistake, and then takes a picture of it. Turns out, the new owner (of 2 years) had no idea this promo was still running on Yelp. He did not honor it. The people behind me started asking me how I got it and I told them if you checked in through Yelp the promo was there, but that he was not honoring it. They too were bummed about it. I understand the owner is not obligated to honor a "mistake" or a glitch in promos or prices as long as it is not intentionally deceitful, but as a business man, in the best interest of the company and for the sake of not upsetting or losing customers, he should've honored the 20% off Yelp check in for the few of us in there. His approach completely turned me off. On the plus side... ***** 5 STARS FOR THE FOOD AND SMOOTHIES ***** We became fans of Roots Juice Bar when we discovered them 3 years ago (we were sad when the cafe was sold... the new owners must've made him an offer he couldn't refuse). I love all their smoothies but my favorite may be the dragon fruit one! I also loved the avocado toast for breakfast it's just very clean and yummy! Plus it's next to my gym so I go work out after! The place has inside and outdoors seating. There's way more outdoor seating than inside. The tables are spread out enough to keep your distance from other humans as we recently have to do! : / Anyway since the food was yummy, the music was blasting g, my friend and I started dancing outside like it was an outdoor club! Ha! It was fun! I'm so happy My Roots provided this safe space to move shake our bodies for a bit! There always plenty of parking in front of the My Roots! A very cool place to hang out and catch up with friends that provides healthy eating; everything there is vegan!
