Dodson rushes his video interviews, filling idle gaps in conversation with incredulous statements like "you're going to love medical cannabis, Jake... it both cures and prevents HIV..." as he hurriedly clicks through boxes and completely opts against any eye contact. The secretaries I've spoken to when calling will frequently interrupt you and talk over you, as did Dr. Dodson when he CALLED ME BACK to YELL AT ME/"correct" me for complaining to his secretary about not being informed of additional steps I needed to take. I suspect he and his staff are regular methamphetamine users, to be honest: it was just that poor and outlandish behavior to be using with a client. The only reason there's more than one star in this rating is because it is ~very~ easy to be diagnosed as certified for medical cannabis through him I had my video recertification with Dodson on July 24th after seeing mine was expiring August 10th: it is currently August 19th and I just discovered upon calling my dispensary to place an order that I have to wait until the Medical Cannabis Office re-certifies me. Today I parked in the pickup area and was assisted by Joe. He was rude, uncivil, and unkind, at one point saying he'd "have a better day if I didn't have to take care of people like you." That is an unacceptable way to speak to a patient. I spoke with Tasha, the manager, who was kind, professional, and helpful, as was the gentleman at the front desk. I truly appreciated both of them, but my interaction with Joe overshadowed the visit. This followed a serious issue during my previous visit. I had my trained service dog with me when another dog lunged at him. The owner identified himself as an off-duty RISE employee and told me his dog was not a service dog. I was surprised to learn today that the dog is now being described as "registered" as a service dog. There is no official service-dog registry, and a registration does not make a pet a service animal. I depend on my highly trained service dog. An uncontrolled dog lunging at a working service dog is not a minor issue--it puts both my dog and me at risk. A dispensary serving medical patients should be a place where patients are treated with respect and legitimate service animals can work safely. After these last two experiences, I have serious concerns about returning to this location. I now understand why the yelp rating is 2.9 and falling.
