This is a hidden gem if you love records. I stopped in this place while walking around the strip mall. There is a huge collection of records and all types of random products. They have comic books, funko pop figures, apparel, and more. The staff was very friendly but the person who was taking inventory kept watching us and gave me the stalker vibes lol. It's ok though. Overall its a nice spot with lots of interesting items to look at

First Time Going to a local record store and man they had a HUGE selection of vinyl. Me and My Friend managed to find records that have been on our Wishlist for quite a while. Reasonable prices Aswell I grabbed 4 albums ( Jesus Is King, ye, LONG.LIVE.A$AP , and The Never Story) and signed up for the VIP service for under $150. My friend grabbed a channel ORANGE vinyl. My other buddy bought a Funko POP. Great experience overall. Parking lot is really confusing but that has nothing to do with the store itself.

When we visit family for holidays this is a MUST stop on our list. We always find treasures waiting for us. Along with great vinyl, they have an incredible selection of novelty items (magnets, socks, bumper stickers, etc) The staff is very cool and friendly. They make us feel welcome every time!

Suspicious and paranoid. Got the evil eye from each employee. I passed by one guy and nodded and he just glared at me. Weird, hostile vibe.

A Bore. Great if you like metal. Not a lot of soul or R&B. Used vinyl could be better organized. Decent selection of CDs. Not a lot of vinyl

An $18 purchase of a pipe should include a screen. It always used to be like that. Incredibly poor customer service.

This is still such a wonderful place with a great selection of music and so many cool retail items at a great value. Expertly curated and displayed. Still, my most favorite record store I've ever been to anywhere! Moved to California 30+ years ago and every time I'm in town I gotta take a peek and do that whole nostalgia trip in my head-if only the walls could talk, OH MY! I love the creaking floors as you walk across the showroom remembering those sounds heard in the basement packing my own orders to ensure in stock items were shipped. The cast of characters that visited and cool musicians- one day Devo came popping through handing out 3-D buttons with those flower pot looking things on their heads and strange jumpsuits. "It's not too late To whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead" my daughter wore my old jacket from 1979 (in picture) . The nice staff were very friendly and enamored with the jacket and the manager took some pictures which gave my daughter a huge tickle. I think the cat's name is Bob Fuchs and he's been there since the late '80s and a good ambassador of the brand and so kind to indulge us. This is a must visit if you're ever in Minneapolis set aside some time it's worth every minute!

As I had plenty of time to spare for Lunch with my brother (at the nearby 5-8 Club), I wandered over. Know Name Records struck me as a combination of a CD/Vinyl records store, a head shop, t-shirt seller, memorabilia collection, head shop, disk golf dealer, and rummage sale. The later was based on a couple sets of old speakers, a turntable, and other vintage items that were for sale. Plus from this person of 65's perspective, it didn't look like the 2 older guys tending the counter had escaped the 60s. :) I had a great time looking around. I wasn't much interested in the weed-related or vinyl merchandise, and I would never get those speakers on the plane. But, the CDs were interesting and I found a great Vikings/Prince "Purple Reign" (if only for that NFL team) jersey that I just had to take home (see picture). I'm sure to come back the next time I'm anywhere this side of the Crosstown Freeway. Plus I'd fully expect that there would be a whole new inventory to explore. Good prices too.

I went home with a vintage heart locket that was worth the price and my new staple piece I wear every day! I usually find that vintage stores can really increase pricing just for the allure of vintage items but I found most things to be reasonably priced. They have such a wide variety of items that I could spend hours looking around. It's really a hidden gem. One thing to note is that there is a large collection of racist caricatures/black face dolls and figurines. It's pretty uncomfortable to look at. After another reviewer pointed it out, it reminded me to include that in my review. I don't think they should be included in the selection, regardless of its appeal for "collectors."

If you want Vinyl, this is the place to go. I am not a vinyl person, but our friend is and this trip out here was to him. Found some great albums and took a stroll down memory lane with a lot of the old items on display. The two women working there are lovely and so helpful. There is an entire room full of vinyl. I think it's called the fault and then there are also records through out. Great store and a great find!! Be sure to stop in.

The Record Spot is a very small "hole-in-the-wall" shop, with enough room to fit maybe 5 or 6 folks standing inside flipping through the bins. The owner is super-friendly, and appears to have an affinity to late 70s, early 80s punk, new wave, and early modern rock. All of the pricing is on masking tape, priced fairly, and I couldn't find one record in the bin that was less than VG+ condition. Overall, the store is very well organized, and I recommend taking a look through the $1 and $2 bins. The sleeves in these bins are pretty beat, but the records I picked up all play clean and were a real bargain. I loved at the end, when I was checking out, how the owner wanted to know more about the records I was snagging. I picked up clean copies of U2's Boy and October at very fair prices, where he even shaved a couple of bucks off the total. If you're driving by fast enough, you'll miss this little gem of a record store. It's worth a visit if you're looking for classics in good shape at a fair price.
