I really WANT to love BeeQ. And I've had fantastic service there, specifically from Phoebe, who is a nail art magician. She is so friendly and efficient with her time, and is wonderful at making nail art dreams come true. On the rare occasion I treat myself to a fancy manicure, I would absolutely go back to Phoebe! However -- whenever I risk booking with ANY other technician, the experience is always lackluster. I've had technicians awkwardly squabble over who 'has' to do my nails. I've had technicians rip into my cuticles so hard they bleed. When I went in recently for a gel manicure soak-off, they just haphazardly dipped my fingers in acetone and sent me on my way. My nails looked awful and my skin peeled for days afterward, to the point where my hands looked diseased. I personally won't come back here unless I'm specifically booking with Phoebe, who really is amazing. read more

I like the booking experience nailing down a pretty precise time (yes things can run early/late) but having those planned times in mind is SUPER helpful when running around trying to squeeze in a nail appointment that you aren't sure if you have time for or not. I hate at other places when make a resy and they say yes they have time but then you get there and they just have you sit in the pedi chair waiting for 20min. As far as the actual pedicure and manicure experience, all of my 3 visits have gone super well and I loved my nails. I have a fingernail that is a little odd shaped bc of an injury and they accommodate it really well and no complaints on my pedi! Will continue to go here now as my go-to spot! read more

I got dip with fake tips as well as a polish change on my toenails, as I was getting engaged that day and wanted my nails to look nice for photos. They were quick and the place was very clean, I think they did a pretty okay job. I would've liked a little more conversation but that's just me. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND. I made an appointment and wasn't helped until 15 mins after the appointment time. Then she half worked on my nails and another girl that had just walked in because the person she was with didn't have the talent to do her set. She left me under the dryer and told me to leave after 10 mins. I checked in with her to make sure I was good to leave and she just said yeah - didn't even look at my nails. As soon as I got in the car, they started smudging and chipping. She hadn't even made sure they were dry before I left. (If I make an appointment, I expect their full attention) I went back and they couldn't fix it that day because it was too close to close. I made an appointment for the next day and got shellac this time since the regular polish was such a disaster. They still had the audacity to charge me another $25 for that. I wish I could've taken my tip back. I spent $85 on a plain set of acrylic for no reason. Will NEVER be coming back and will be telling anyone and everyone to not come here. I went in last week and they first told me they wouldn't do the color I asked for because it would look bad and laughed at me. Even though I had gotten that color numerous times before. Also, they did not run out of the color, they just said it would be ugly. On the positive, the nails did look good before they chipped. Next, my gel nails chipped only 24 hours after getting them, other nail locations in AA the gel lasts for a month with no chips. Upon calling to have them fix the area that chipped, they responded that I would have to pay for it and abruptly hung up on me when I was in the middle of respectfully talking on the phone. Usually I never leave any negative reviews and try to be understanding, but multiple employees that I talked to were rude and had poor customer service. read more

For reference I got acrylics. My first experience here was great but my most recent one was not. My nails were bleeding during the process and my cuticles and skin around my nails are very red and irritated. This was my first time going to a nail salon in Ann Arbor and BeeQ was great! One of the reasons I picked this one is because I wanted to try the gel-x extensions. Ava did my nails and I highly recommend her. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and she offered some ideas to get the look that I wanted. She took her time and made sure that I was happy with each step. They also offered wine, I guess they do that in the afternoons? The online booking was super easy to use, and you can use the card you use to make the reservation to pay for your service. I think for a gel-x manicure with French tips and the nail art (pearl embellishment) it was around $75, which isn't terrible compared to what some other salons charge. read more

Update: They still do the best manicure I've had in Ann Arbor. But- I was a little frustrated when I tried to book an appointment this week and never received a confirmation email or text. (I usually receive both.) I assumed the reservation system hadn't worked. When I tried to rebook, there were no slots available, so I booked with the Downtown location instead. (And I did receive a confirmation text from them.) Turns out my first reservation HAD gone through, and I was charged for being a no-show, even though I was getting my nails done at BeeQ downtown at that very time! I called to explain the situation, and they told me there was no way to reverse the charge and offered me store credit instead. I understand that this confusion probably caused someone to lose out on work/income, and so I want to be understanding. But please, please fix the reservation system! My girlfriend went to get her nails done and the service was awful. Francheska made rude and passive aggressive comments the whole time. She also wasn't gentle on her cuticles and made them bleed multiple times, barely apologized for it. Francheska also didn't do my girlfriends nails the way she initially wanted, simply because she had someone booked after, even though we booked ahead of time. If this was a walk in appointment that would be reasonable, but since we made the appointment ahead of time this is unacceptable. Francheska also didn't clean around my gfs nails enough at all, and when initially asked to, she told my gf to to it herself. She didn't pay attention to detail and a good amount of nail polish was cured on her skin. Absolute joke of a service. We regret giving her any tip because she doesn't deserve one read more

I almost never write reviews for bad experiences but had to after coming here a couple times and receiving such aggressive cuticle cutting that my fingers bled. Both times were with different technicians, and the second one I don't believe sterilized her tools (may have been a new employee). I'm not a confrontational type so basically just asked in the moment to please be gentle, but I'm beside myself now that I have - for the second time - bandaids around multiple fingers because my cuticles either have broken skin or inflammation from how aggressive they were. Kind of defeats the purpose of getting a manicure. I was willing to chalk the first time up to a fluke but with multiple experiences had to post something to warn others. I won't be back. Strange experience-- I'd had a polygel and booked 4 weeks later for a fill with the same technician. When I arrived and after sitting for a while at the technician's station, it was discovered that I had been double booked. I was moved out of the chair and referred to another technician. The previous technician assured me that the new tech knew how to do polygel fills. After a long wait, the new tech started the service and proceeded to remove the polygel. He said I didn't have a polygel but a regular gel. I asked the former technician to intervene. She insisted that she had done the polygel weeks before but for some reason didn't communicate that directly to the technician she recommended. He proceeded to remove everything with a drill. I voiced concern about nail damage but he said his technique was not damaging. After this, I just converted to a buff and shine and got out of there. My nails were paper thin. All the growth from the initial treatment and then some broke. Even stranger, I received a call from the salon not apologizing but asking if I'd ever consider coming back. read more

I was having trouble finding a good nail salon in Ann Arbor and decided to try BeeQ after seeing their storefront and checking out their yelp reviews. I've come here four times now and I can say that I the manicures and pedicures are consistently great. I had one bad pedicure where I was unhappy since I was cut and one of my toes was messed up from some excess acetone - I called the salon and they had me come back the next day and apologized and fixed the mistake immediately. Aside from that one incident I am very happy with the services and customer service. I also recently was married and decided to try eyelash extensions a few weeks beforehand. Camilla is the owner and does the eyelash extensions - she is fantastic! She did a great job on my lashes - so many people have commented on them including the makeup artist that I hired for my wedding (she asked who did the extensions since they were so well done). I had the initial set applied 3 weeks before my wedding (wanted to make sure I didn't have an allergic reaction right before wedding photos) and did a touch up/fill the week of the wedding. My Asian features mean my natural lashes are stick straight and hard to keep curled. I love the extensions since they feel natural and there is no need for mascara or eyelash curlers with these extensions! If you're looking for a salon where the technicians actually care about you and the work they're doing, THIS IS THE SALON FOR YOU. By far the best spa service I've ever received. As someone who has left other salons with bloody cuticles and un-cured shellac, I am so happy to have found this wonderful place. Made an appointment for a pedicure, acrylic fill with shellac polish, and trial eyelash extensions, and made appointments for 3 other people to get pedicures and manicures as well the night before with no issues. I definitely suggest making an appointment rather than walking in, since they seemed to have a pretty steady flow of appointments. Pedicure was wonderful. Uno was so patient with me- I'm so ticklish on my feet, and practically kicked her right in the face. The foot massage was so relaxing and the polish looks great. Camilla, the owner, did my eyelash extensions. I was so nervous because I'd never had them done before, but I'm so happy with how they look. Since I've got pretty short lashes naturally, we went with the trial lashes which was $99, and you get 30-45 lashes per eye. Totally worth it because they look so incredible, and so real! I wish I would have received an instructional sheet on how to take care of them, but there are many sources online. My acrylic fill and shellac manicure was amazing. I came in with my acrylic nails almost completely unattached to my natural nail, One was so bad it had to be completely replaced. Isra really took her time and was so nice to me. I've had acrylic fills done by some pretty horrible people, so if you're looking for a great nail tech who is really talented and actually cares how your nails look, see Isra. I came here for a regular pedicure after scouring Yelp for a nail place that didn't look sketchy but also wasn't exorbitantly priced. BeeQ Spa lived up to it's ratings and reviews! Despite it's location in an older strip plaza, the salon itself is modern, fresh, and well decorated. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of pedicure and manicure stations they had as well as their computerized/online scheduling system. I was a walk in and well received. There's a wide array of polish to choose from, they offer you water, and their equipment was clean. They took their time with my toes and did an excellent job. This will be my go to place for pedicures even though it's not the closest one to me because of it's great environment and service. She refused to acknowledge me when I was trying to ask if it was the right package. My friend and I went here based off the positive reviews, and I have to say, we were pleased with our service. When we came later in the evening after work one day (around 7), the place was nearly empty, so we were seated immediately for our pedicure appointment. While not the largest color selection, I was able to find a pink color I liked. They have a special set of polish that apparently lasts longer (?) and costs an extra $5 as well - they should probably mark it better, since my friend and I didn't even notice, but our stylists did at least confirm the charge before painting our toes. The stylists were efficient and professional, the prices are reasonable, and maybe its just because it was the end of the day, but they seemed to have their stuff together - other nail salons I've been to appear disjointed and poorly managed. While I'm not sure it'll replace my go-to salon, it's definitely a consideration for me in the future. read more

I love the work they do here, but I've gone twice now to get dip nails done and they chipped/fell off within a week! I got mine done on Saturday and today is Wednesday, and one of my nails cracked and split in half. I waited half an hour before even doing anything with my hands like the technician recommended and still chipping... The technician also stood right behind me when I was paying and I felt compelled to tip more than I though the service deserved because she still had to put the sealing coat on.
