I was a regular customer here for over 5 years. Once my regular nail tech cut back on hours, I was majorly discriminated against. I was told by 'Too' (the rude lady that greets people at the front desk) that my nails are too long (they're not even abnormally long), it's takes too long to do my nails and they denied me service and lied to me about open availability on more than one occasion. Mind you, I was a regular customer who'd pay a great tip every time, even when the work was subpar. 'Too' is very condescending, rude and fake depending on her audience. Additionally last time I visited this nail shop, they nickel and dimed me to death by charging a long nail fee, charging to file my nails and charging for a French manicure. I would not recommend this nail shop to anyone due to the poor treatment and the lack of loyal customer service to continued clients. read more

Great first visit with my mom in town. I called before they opened as I couldn't find hours online. They saw the missed call and called me back when they opened. They recommended I book an appt rather than walk in. Classic Pedi was $35. Cash is requested when possible. Clean place, lots of chairs. TVs on cooking shows. Our visit was fine. Good and thorough for the price. Sugar scrub and hot stones included. We were in and out in less than an hour. No dryers to use as with all others since Covid. read more

Pedicure - done professionally with care. Very good message of feet and legs. We walked in without an appointment, but only had to wait about 10 minutes to be served. I believe they had a full staff with every bench being served - so they were able to accommodate walk-ins with short waiting times that day. Others don't seem to be as lucky. But we don't think its right to complain about waiting times if you are a walk-in. Obviously, they are busy because most people seem to like the service. We will keep going - and if there is a complain my style is to tell management - not b-tc-h on the web. Most good places take complaints seriously and try to fix it. read more

This is a conveniently located, CLEAN, relaxing place to have your nails done. I regularly get shellac and gel manicures and pedicures at this location. During the pedicures they perform hot stone treatments which I haven't been offered at other salons (unless I want to sell a kidney first and who knows if they are as clean as this place). Some people have mentioned the price is too high. Hi, have you bought anything in the last 12 months? Everything is high. This salon only recently increased their prices and for the work they do and results they give, it's definitely worth it. *Previous review from Nancy*: I don't know why Nancy H. has her panties in a bunch: "I've never been told 'we are busy and won't take you'"? Let me just start right off with saying this place disgusting and by disgusting I mean PATHETIC!!!! I was in need of a really girly day and the full pampering experience. I recieved the EXACT opposite. The staff was AWFUL!!!!! Rude, extremely unprofessional! Walk-ins aren't welcome - like the sign on their door suggests. I was told "to come back later" because they are "under staffed" and can only see people with an appointment. If this is the truth, update your website to reflect how you are truly servicing your new customers. I'll say it for you so everyone knows - don't go without an appointment. Dexter Nails is a Beautiful Salon, it is very busy so I would highly recommend always having an appointment. The owner is very friendly and gives a great shellac Mani. I decided to leave a review because this is the first shellac manicure I have ever received that has actually lasted 2 weeks. While I appreciated that it appeared clean and the service was fast, the quality was very disappointing. I came in for a full acrylic set, just French tips so nothing too intricate. I have never been told "we are pretty busy & we won't take you" EVER when going here or any walk in nail place, honestly. they were very rude. unfortunately, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow morning & have always gone here. I highly recommend Dexter Nails & Spa. I did my wedding nails there with my 3 bridesmaids, the mothers, and a friend. We called ahead to ask if we could bring a big group. Dexter Nails & Spa was ready for us and they pampered us. We had lots of fun, laughed lots, and our nails were absolutely beautiful. NEW MANAGEMENT! Wonderful news! Tim's family just purchased Dexter Nails near Busch's on Dexter/Ann Arbor Road! Tu is the new manager, and Tim and Kelly are both working there as well! Hooray!!! The salon's atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, and the staff is the friendliest and most professional in the area. Their prices are competitive, and the ample parking makes for easy access. After having followed Tim, Tu, and Kelly to other salons, I'm so happy that they finally have their own salon in a perfect location and with the ideal staff! Delightful! I highly endorse this establishment. It is very clean, the service is exceptional, staff are very friendly, has a great vibe. You can tell it is well run as the staff are always smiling, greet you by name. The pedicure I had was good and the environment and chairs were super comfortable, but the price was a bit high. But I am from San Diego so maybe the $28 price is the going rate but I pay $17 the same thing at home. So I was a little surprised that Yelp had it listed with one dollar sign. read more

The salon is beautiful and the people are friendly, but unfortunately I was unhappy with the quality of my manicure. I asked for my nails to be left long, but the guy who did them clipped them short immediately and then said he was sorry, he'd been thinking of something else. I've never had someone take so long to file my nails, and they were still un even. Polish application was slow as well and the layers were uneven and thick, resulting in bumps and bubbles in the finished product. read more

Tried Dexter nails for the first time and wasn't disappointed! I got a full set with white tips and they turned out great! I will definantly be back. The only thing I can say is prepare to wait even with an appointment. They take their time and pay very close attention to detail. Was really excited about trying the new place, but the woman that did my shellac was on her phone going back and forth texting the whole time. She stopped doing my nails about 8 times to text her friends on her phone. So rude! Won't be returning. On top of that, at the end of my service she asked me how am I going to tip her, cash or card? If I could give this place a zero I would. They did a horrible job on my nails. I had gone here about 2 weeks ago to get my nails filled and get one fixed because it broke. Not even a week after getting my nails done two of them broke off with barely any pressure to them ( I was getting dressed when both nails snapped off). Then a few days later another two broke off and today another one came off. It has just been a little over two weeks but your nails shouldn't break off not even within a week of having them done. I had gotten acrylics but the man who had done them was very rude, swatting at my hands, aggressively pulling my hand toward him and making rude remarks.
